I was informed during a call that I would recieve £878 for an ear infection my dog had. The money was to be paid in to my bank account.. however I received a letter stating that the claim was rejected and only £71 was paid, but this was for an ailment my dog didn't have, and treatment he didn't recieve.
I'm now having to have my claim re-examined.
I've now cancelled my policy (which was difficult to do). I've been paying £800 every year, yet this was my first ever claim. This has been the worst experience, simply trying to to recoup money spent on treatment for my dog, insured by this company that states everything would be paid only then to be informed it wouldn't be... but with no reasons as to why. Then being paid for something my dog didn't get treatment for.
Absolutely outrageous... definitely wouldn't recommend this company.

As i have just purchased i couldnt give a full review. But from a first time person purchasing puppy insurance. I am very happy as it has everyrhing i need to cover my daughters puppy.
Still waiting for a response on my claim promised over 3 months now! Only ask for Hiw we Did mails !!

Been insuring our 10 year cavvy with More than since he was 8 weeks old. They were great, since Admiral have taken over they are pretty impossible to deal with. The system for submitting claims online is now insufficient, especially if your pet has an ongoing condition. You then don't hear from them for months and then get automated emails asking for info that you've already given with no idea as which particular claim they're on about. When you reply to the email they say to reply to you get no response. I've had the same automated emails about 4 times in the last couple of weeks. Every time I reply to say I need more info to know which claim they are talking about to give them the info (receipts they were already given) but get no response. Unfortunately, because our Cav has existing life long conditions we can't take our business elsewhere. I won't be insuring any future dogs with them that's for sure.

Cancelled my renewal, got email acknowledgement but they took the payment anyway. A mark of a poor company

Easy to navigate website easy to set up. Virtual cet is a bonus still not received policy documents yet.

Do not trust these people.
There job isnt to look after you or your pet in trying times, there job is to use loopholes and clever wording to take your money.
There is literally zero empathy from anyone working for them its like talking to a stone cold robot, hell a robot has better customer service, they are rude and have zero compassion in difficult times.
Stay away they are not here to help you.

Had pet insurance and I hadn't needed to call them for 2 years until they sent my renewal, they increased the price by 40% over 2 years so I called them and they said I can reduce my level of cover to reduce the price. So I argued that they want me to reduce the level of cover I want in order to meet the price point which they increased by 40% but they were not willing to increase my level of cover or reduce the price. I was hit with utter silence and the agent asked how I'd like to proceed. It was immediate cancellation of the policy.. don't use them. Awful

I've been with More Than Pet Insurance for several years, managing ongoing treatment for my dog's chronic condition with claims submitted approximately every two months. Since their recent acquisition, the service has deteriorated dramatically.
Major Issues:
Reactive Claims Processing: Claims are never processed proactively. I have to call every single time to get them to even look at my submission, despite having a clear pattern of regular claims.
Administrative Failures: They routinely close claims before payment is issued, creating unnecessary confusion and delays. When questioned, they provide vague explanations about "system updates."
Dishonest Communication: They claim to have contacted my veterinary practice when they haven't. I've verified this directly with my vet multiple times.
Poor Complaint Handling: This is perhaps the most concerning issue. When I raise complaints about their service failures, they simply pay the outstanding claim and mark the complaint as "resolved." They fundamentally don't understand that paying claims is their basic obligation - not complaint resolution.
The Bigger Problem:
I'm effectively trapped with this provider. Due to my dog's pre-existing condition, switching insurers isn't viable as new providers exclude existing conditions. More Than appears to exploit this captive customer situation, knowing that customers like me have no alternatives.
Final Thoughts:
While they do eventually pay legitimate claims, the process has become unnecessarily stressful and time-consuming. The post-acquisition changes have clearly prioritized cost-cutting over customer service.
For new customers: If your pet is healthy and you have choices, consider other providers. The acquisition has fundamentally changed how they operate.

As I understand More than have changed underwriters! On htis basis so we are told claims are taking a very long time to be processed despite on going calls and reassurance that they will be processed. There always seems to be an excuse why they cant be processed in a timely manner . This has happened on several occasions. We have a dog with an ongoing condition and have to make regualr claims that are coverd by our policy

Don’t purchase their pet insurance would be my advice. I claimed for 1 condition, my vets have sent numerous documents as requested. Have received part payment or no payment for invoices , nobody can explain what is going on . Like myself my vets are baffled. This is a lifetime policy and my car insurance is half the price.
