MonsterMegs is Awesome

MonsterMegs is Awesome. Their basic Package covered everything I needed to start a WordPress Blog. Why I've decided to go with MonsterMegs? It was because of SSD storage, LiteSpeed Cache, unlimited domains, and a really great price for the subscription. Since I'm doing something like this for the first time, their knowledge-base was great in helping me out and launching my first blog. I'm here to stay and I recommend you check out MonsterMegs.

I have been with MonsterMegs for more…

I have been with MonsterMegs for more than 8 years and that says it all really. After using multiple big name shared hostings plans I was tired of the poor speeds because of the overpopulated servers, but that gladly wasn’t the case with MonsterMegs. Since the start my site started getting bigger and needed more resources, but instead of limiting my site they offered me a discount code for a semi-dedicated solution that has been great ever since. The number of support tickets that I have opened can be counted on one hand and every time the response was quick and clear. I can’t even remember when the last downtime occurred, it has been that long. You can also pick between server locations, which is handy when you have traffic from a certain country or region. They’re probably not the cheapest host on the web, but that should never be your main priority because good and reliable hosts are hard to find.

Great company and Support staff

Great company, support and people. We were with MonsterMegs for 4 years and always had great service and support from their staff. With business growing, we eventually had to move to dedicated hosting platform which was not available at MM.

Kevin and the rest of the staff are…

Kevin and the rest of the staff are nothing but a class act. They have helped me tremendously over the years and far beyond what anyone could possibly expect from them. Their customer service has set an example that I strive to reach in my own company. Even when I ask question that I don't think is within their scope of work they get me an answer. I rarely wait more than 15 minutes for an initial response even in at 3am. Their service is the literally the best I have ever dealt with and I am not easily satisfied.

My downtime has been slim to none on all of my websites, for many, many moons now. I can't imagine ever using any other hosting company and I have absolutely no intention of doing so. Here's to many more years with MonsterMegs.

I love Monstermegs Hosting!

I am happy to say that Monstermegs has been a great web host. I have not noticed any downtime on my website in the last year, even when they migrated to more powerful servers earlier on in the year. These new servers are crazy fast and keep my website loading really quick.

While I haven't submitted many tickets, I have always been very satisfied with their support. I get replies in minutes instead of hours, which is a real bonus.I can see being a customer of theirs for many many years.

After being a customer of MonsterMegs…

After being a customer of MonsterMegs for over 4 years, I made the decision to take my business elsewhere. For what it's worth, I never had any issues with their hosting services, my sites had zero downtime. If you ever reach out to support though and you're considered to be even the slightest inconvenience to their bottom line, know that their willingness to reasonably work with the customer (in this case, a loyal customer of multiple years) goes out the window. This is a competitive space with plenty of great players. I would encourage any customers in need of or in the process of reevaluating their web hosting provider to do their due diligence and weigh out their options; I've weighed mine and I decided to purchase hosting from the provider I purchased my domains from. I am now paying a fraction of the price, receive great customer service, all while retaining excellent uptime metrics.

We are sorry to see you go! We are quite surprised by this review and our score of our service. As stated in your review, in the last 4 years we have provided your a solid service with nothing but polite ticket responses, stellar uptime, and a stable hosting environment.

There are a couple things we must address in this review as we feel it does not tell the whole story. Last week Ed submitted a ticket asking why his service was labeled as terminated and his hosting account was no longer active. After looking at his account we found that the account was over 30 days past due and as per our TOS, the service was terminated. This snippet below is from our Terms of Service:

"Accounts that are 30 days past due will be automatically deleted from our servers, if you wish to activate an account over 30 days past due, there will be a $25.00 fee to restore your account from backups (if available). Any special pricing you had on your old account will not transfer to the new account, all new accounts will pay current prices on our website."

Now this is pretty much a standard entry for every web host, that after 30 days of non-payment, the account is terminated. Most web hosts do not even provide 30 days, but we understand that things happen and invoices can be missed. We believe 30 days is plenty of time for a customer to remit payment ans keep their account current.

So now back to the ticket from Ed. Asking why his account was terminated, we pointed out the same snippet from our Terms of Service and explained what had happened. We stated that since he was a long term customer we would waived the second part of that term that states, "Any special pricing you had on your old account will not transfer to the new account, all new accounts will pay current prices on our website."

The customer was on a previous pricing scheme and also had a 20% recurring coupon. So we offered for the customer to keep the same discounted pricing that they had for the last 4 years, but we would have to keep the $25 restore fee for restoring the customer account from backups. Ed asked that we also waive the $25 restore fee and we stated we could not waive that fee, as it takes time to manually restore the backup of his account. Keeping the discounted pricing and paying the $25 restore fee would actually be the cheapest option in the long run.

So Ed responded and stated he understood and agreed to pay the restore fee. He also added that he would like a backup of all his data email to him, basically stating he was moving to another provider. As the site was over a 1GB, that would not be possible, but we stated we would restore his backup and open his site for 24 hours, so he could grab his data. We also gave instructions on how he could generate a full backup in cPanel.

We received one more response from Ed the next day, asking if we could keep the site open for another 3 days. We had to deny this request and stated that if they needed any time over the 24 hours, that they would have have to pay the invoice for the current months service. Keep in mind that no payment was submitted for this current month of service. This is a business and we do have to draw the line some where.

After the 24 hours, the service was again terminated and we had verified before doing this, that Ed had generated a full cpanel backup and saw their site was already pointing at their new hosting provider with data intact.

Looking back over this, we feel we did try to compromise with Ed on the pricing to get their site back online, although he feels we are just worried about our bottom dollar. If that was the case, we would not have offered to let him keep the discounted pricing and we would have forced him to pay the current months invoice to get access to his data.

In the end, we wish Ed nothing but the best in the future. :)

We are sorry you had a bad experience, but unfortunately we were unable to continue your service after further review of your order and our gut feeling to part ways. Your order was cancelled and fully refunded within 1 hour from the time you placed the order.

We informed this customer in 2 separate tickets that we did not feel it was in our best interest to proceed with your order/account. Even though we informed them by these 2 tickets, they continued to flood our emails, Twitter, and Linkedin accounts with messages. In the end, we had no choice but to block this individual on all media platforms as their messages would not stop.

I think the way they worded their review gives all the clues you need as to why we decided not to proceed with the order.

Easy to get started

Easy to get started. I have been monitoring my website speed the first month. Consistently fast, all the time. Customer service has been prompt and very helpful- getting it right the first time.

No respect for old clients, new clients beware

Should have at least offered a single-cPanel multi-domain option (like Siteground) to legacy clients. I'm currently moving all my domains to Siteground which is a painful process and MonsterMegs is responsible for this pain (even though they like to blame it all on cPanel's pricing changes).

New clients, beware: In the future, if MM encounters any trouble that would potentially harm their profits, they will immediately try to balance their profits by tremendously increasing their price (in my case, 300%).

I understand your frustration and we have talked about this over support ticket. At anytime you were welcome to migrate to a single cpanel multi-domain option (our standard web hosting plans). If you could have requested to us that you would rather migrate to shared hosting account, we could have worked this out with you. It is not an easy process unfortunately, as cPanel does not offer a simple way to migrate multiple cPanel accounts in a single account and it all has to be done manually. If this is something you are still interested in, please feel to reach out to us and we will work out a way to migrate your sites into a single cPanel account.

The change to cPanel's account based pricing hit the hosting industry hard, including us. We offered recurring coupons to customers to help with the transition from our reseller legacy plans and even extended the coupon to make sure customers could take advantage to lower the cost of the upgrade.

Overall it was a pleasure working with you over the years and we do wish you luck in the future.

The Best Reseller Out There!

I recently moved my reseller hosting account from Asmallorange to MonsterMegs and I am so glad I did. ASmallOrange's service quality has been going downhill for a quite a long time, but to move a reseller account is not an easy task by any means. So I held off for quite some time, until I just could not take the poor service any longer.

Monstermegs really made the transition process a breeze. They migrated all 25 of my accounts within a few hours and after updating nameservers, everything was transitioned to their service by the following day. There were a few errors that happened due to the differences in service, but their staff took it upon themselves to resolve these errors without me even asking or being aware until they filled my in on the transfer ticket.

I have been with them now for 2 months and the service has been solid. Servers are fast, support is very friendly and knowledgeable, and they offer so many more options compared to ASO. I just wished I had made this move to Monstermegs much earlier. This would have saved me a lot of headaches over the final months at ASO.

Keep up the great service and you will have a very long time customer!
