Ben was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, he must have been back and forth half a dozen times bringing me different walking boots to try. I can highly recommend the Peter Storm boots that I bought.

The staff in this shop, St.Albans branch, are really helpful. I needed a tent. I could not apply the code that I had online. I rang the shop. They put tent aside for me and applied 20% discount code when I collected it. Great service from Zoe & Charlotte.

Ben couldn't have been more helpful. I bought a few different products and he was there to answer all my questions. For example I felt I needed a walking pole but have never used one so I asked Ben. I feel confident now that I will use it properly. Also, because I bought some chairs and a small tent, I asked him if there was something that could help me carry them. He recommended a small trolley that is an ideal size for me. I would say that it's definitely best to go in to the shop and talk to someone who can advise you if you want to buy some outdoor equipment but need a bit of help. Much better than online.I got all my bargains and met a very friendly member of staff. Thanks Ben

‘Supervisor’ so unpleasant. Clearly irritated that we closed an open store room door to access merchandise hidden behind it. Very unhelpful regarding applying DofE discount - effectively refused to do so. Refused to give her name - clearly recognising she had been less than friendly or helpful. Won’t be returning. Shame, another assistant really helpful with choosing socks. Cotswold Outdoors over the road superb and no issue with DofE discount.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to share my experience of shopping with my daughter at Millets today.
She has a trip at the end of the month and needed some walking boots and a warm waterproof jacket.
I was greeted by a friendly staff working there: a young lady and a man called Ben.
Both of them had a great product knowledge and expertise and patiently explained all benefits and features of different jackets and shoes of various brands on display. My daughter has tried a few different jackets but she decided to think about them until next week.
We have chosen a few pairs of different boots for my daughter to try on, which the young lady brought from the stock room for her.
After trying them on my daughter picked the one that she liked the most, which Ben has taken to the tills for us.
We had a lovely conversation at the till and left very happy with our purchase!
Both staff were really friendly and very helpful and a great credit to the company they work for.
We had a great experience and will definitely recommend to visit the store!

Visited to buy boots and gear for my son’s first hiking trip. Ben was incredibly knowledgeable, very helpful and friendly.
As a result, I have recommended all the other parents with sons on the trip go there to get their boots fitted, rucksack etc

Both Ben & Hal in your St Albans' Maltings' branch gave excellent service and advice. They were interested, knowledgeable, friendly and keen to help - AND they listened to what I was looking for, which is less common these days. Excellent, first-class service.
