Unsustainable Design Attitude
I run a small business related to the manufacture, retailing and repair of electric vehicle charging equipment.
I have just been sent a 'Mode 2 charging cable', a very common accessory in the EV world and one which will charge an EV from a standard domestic 13A 3-pin socket. The car-side cable has been accidentally pulled out of the control box. A relatively simple repair for a common problem in an expensive piece of equipment.
Being able to access the inside of the control box is essential and unfortunately, Mennekes has used *totally unremovable* 'security'/tamper-proof screws to hold the control box together thus making the cable irreparable and so it must be consigned to the recycling heap.
How on Earth is this sustainable?!!
Mennekes should be ashamed of themselves and I for one will never buy another of their products again until they publicly reverse this truly cynical and utterly moronic design attitude.
