McGregor MacLeod Solicitors Recensioni

I dealt with Jaspreet when selling my house & buying my new home & she was super helpful, nothing was a problem when I had 100,s of questions for her, a lovely patient girl..

Great service, the solicitors dealt with my property purchase in a timely and professional manner.

SUMMARY: McGregor MacLeod refused us as potential clients after we asked to know how our personal data were being stored & used, and asked that any non-necessary data be erased/not collected. This is everyone's right under the 2018 Data Protection Act. They did not answer any of my questions about what they do with personal data.

We've talked to other solicitors and this is not normal behaviour.

DETAILED EXPLANATION: My partner and I engaged with McGregor MacLeod regarding conveyancing for a property transaction in Scotland.

While discussing using their services they requested personal information that we did not believe to be pertinent to the purchase of a property (information such as preferences and interests) in their agreement. They also stipulate that they could use these data in market research.

Under the Data Protection Act 2018 (on gov.uk) we have a right to ask and be informed on how our personal data are being used and stored, and for what purposes.

We responded to them by asking how our data would be stored and used, and why it was pertinent to our transaction; we said if it was important to the transaction we would happily provide the data.

We asked if it was not pertinent, that we would prefer not to provide the information, or have it removed after we submitted it. We also requested that our data not be shared or sold with third parties.

They responded within the day and withdrew acting for us under the grounds that this would substantiate an amendment to their terms of business. They didn't answer the questions or clarify any points. We would have been more than happy to provide the data if required. They weren't able to tell us how our data were stored or why (as is our legal right) but instead ceased engagement- which is a fairly big red flag.

We have since engaged with another solicitor who is happy to answer our questions, is more responsive, and is providing a more comprehensive service. When discussing this with other solicitors, dropping clients because they want to know how their data is used is not a normal practice, and was concerning for us.

I strongly recommend avoiding them if you have any other option.

Excellent professional service particularly from Sharon Gray who was extremely helpful, supportive and efficient.

Overall, I am happy with the service provided by McGregor MacLeod, who managed to complete our purchase in around 6 weeks. Sharon was very helpful.

Experience from start to finish with Kirstie went very smoothly, she went over and above to help me through the whole process, even when it all got a little complicated. I absolutely 100% am super grateful and amazed that it was all completed so quickly! Super friendly and communicative, I was never left in the dark at any part of the process. Would recommend. :) thankyou so much.

Excellent service, very professional and responsive. Overall smooth purchase.

Excellent service once again. Used multiple times, very professional and responsive. Thank you for making the purchase a smooth process.

Never use these people. Registered with them and they did note of intrest for us without a problem. Phoned the following week to put a note of interest on another house to be told they could not do this for us as they were now full up with clients. They did not even bother to contact us to tell us this. By the time we found another Solicitor the house had gone.

I was trying to buy a flat in Glasgow they gave me a quote but when the time came to put in an offer, they said they are no longer taking new clients as they are at full capacity.

They wasted both their and mine time.

MacGregor MacLeod Solicitors helped me buy my first home. Vera who I initially spoke with was polite and informative I then was assisted by Sharon Gray who with her knowledge, professionalism, kindness and advice made the whole process stress free and easy. This company is very competitively priced too. These guys are in Glasgow and I am in Edinburgh I purchased my flat during lockdown however should I decide to sell I’ll use this company again.

Excellent service, from the onset of my phone call, Veera gave me clear advice and assistance about the conveyancing process. Sharon was my Conveyancer and was very helpful and informative. I felt that she handled my house purchase with diligence and professionalism and throughout the process I was kept informed. I felt confident that I was in trustworthy and experienced hands. The whole process was very quick and easy. Great solicitors, I would highly recommend, thank you!

I am absolutely astounded at how efficient, easy and straightforward this process has been - 5 weeks from start to completion. Robyn kept me informed and quickly turned around each stage throughout. I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone thinking about using their services. Amazing service.

I utilised McGregor MacLeod when selling my flat in Glasgow; I found them to be efficient, responsive and very effective. Highly recommended!

Good experience all round and Marie was very helpful at all times.

Everyone we spoke to was so helpful and friendly. Vera was amazing at talking us through the process of buying our first home, and Sharon was brilliant at sorting the contract, kept us informed of what was happening and made the whole process go smoothly!

Sharon Gray was superb throughout the entire process of us buying our first home! She was always quick to get back to us and put us at ease every step of the way! I would definitely recommend her to anybody looking to buy a home. Thanks again, Sharon!

I was very pleased with the service I received from Jaspreet and the team at McGregor Macleod and would gladly recommend this company.

Exceptional service from Jaspreet in all aspects. Would highly reccommend and will be using again.

Our move from England to Scotland was quite challenging but Jaspreet was unfailingly helpful and encouraging. She kept us informed about what was happening and took time to explain the difference in Scottish Law conveyancing. We are very grateful, especially as our move involved some complicated Equity Release procedures which created a lot of extra work for her. We recommend her without reservation and are pleased she was assigned to our purchase. Thank you.
