This company owns so many chains of eateries that it is hard not to eat in one. The food is mass produced and not great. I try to avoid. They are not a good employer and have a poor track record. The Enfield Oak incident just reflects their poor values. Avoid and boycott.

As a long-time patron of local eateries, I felt compelled to share my thoughts regarding recent events at Toby Carvery's Whitewebbs Park location.

While I've enjoyed occasional family meals at various Toby Carvery establishments over the years, I must express my profound disappointment regarding the decision to fell the ancient oak tree on the premises by Mitchells & Butlers.

This magnificent tree, reportedly around 500 years old, represented a living connection to our natural heritage and provided immeasurable ecological benefits to our community.

I understand that business decisions are complex, but I sincerely believe that preserving such irreplaceable natural landmarks should be paramount. The apparent lack of consultation with Enfield Council before taking such permanent action is particularly concerning.

I now find myself unable to support a company that appears to place so little value on environmental stewardship. I would respectfully urge management to reconsider their approach to the natural resources under their care and perhaps take steps to make amends, possibly through significant replanting efforts or conservation initiatives.

Until meaningful changes are made to demonstrate a commitment to environmental responsibility, I regret that my family and I will making use of any of Mitchells & Butlers' brands again.

Absolute trash that should be shut down.

Think it’s fine to cut down an ancient tree of your own volition then respond with drivel like: “we need to tighten our protocols”. Like tightening protocols will inject any amount of self-awareness of this breathtaking entitlement.

So who is profiting from the sale of the timber from the "Guy Fawkes tree" the ancient oak that was HACKED down without Enfield Council permission? "Proffessional" tree surgeons my arse! "Health and safety concerns" my arse. It has been proven this oak was NOT dead and had also been given a clean bill of health by proper experts just months before. Yet it was still felled illegally without the knowledge of Enfield Council. A million pounds is the value placed upon it I believe. I hope your lease on the land is revoked and you are sued for every single penny. Yet another example of environmental destruction from a disgusting corporation with no moral compass or ethics.

I'll make sure never to visit you again. Shame on you for killing a magnificent tree! You are a sorrow excuse of hospitality. Disgusting!

Trees have been here a lot longer than any of these clowns.

Never going to use any of their houses since they cut the oak tree down. It's a reflection of how they think. Probably not interested in just one costumer - a bit like the tree.

After felling the oak tree in Enfield, please search for their businesses and ensure you never attend any of them, ever. Disgusting company…. Hope they go bankrupt.

I’ll be boycotting any establishment linked to you after reading about your disgusting actions and i hope others do the same. A company with no morals and zero respect for anything but themselves

Appalling company, killing trees that have been on this earth since long before they were. Boycott these planet killers and close them down for good.

Like many, the actions of this company’s management in cutting down a healthy 500 year old oak tree leaves me speechless. I cannot believe the statement that the tree needed to be cut down for health and safety reasons. Rather I am minded to believe that other, unscrupulous considerations are involved. As criminal proceedings appear to be inappropriate, all we can do is voice our disgust and anger, boycott this group of companies and name and shame those individuals responsible for what is ecological vandalism by corporate hooliganism.

How disgusting that Mitchells and Butlers felled a 500 year old oak tree because they say they were told it was dead. Just more vandalism to make a few quid. They should receive a heft fine.
