I am very happy of the overall experience of LegalWills, the only thing is that you do have to be prepared to do all of the work yourself, which takes many hours, and there is nobody to check it for you once you have finished. In fact there is even a disclaimer on it that says it might not be considered legal unless it is checked by a solicitor, which could make it a pointless exercise. But for a simple will, if you don't have lots of complicated relatives to leave things too for example, it's very good. I would recommend going for the lifelong payment option straight away instead of paying the yearly cost each year, unless you are about to 'peg out' in the short term of course, which is actually what I thought initially and why I needed a will doing quickly.

I departed from the standard form text and added my own words to describe my wishes. A pop-up screen suggested I get the non-standard text checked by a solicitor. I took this advice and paid for LegalWills to check my will. The response made no reference to my wording but recommended I check with NS&I about the process. This I had already done and as a result, I added my own wording to the will to support my legacy. What is the point of paying to have the wording of a will checked (on the recommendation of (LegalWills) if it does not perform that one single task it was purchased for?

Couldn't understand why I was unable split my personal chattels (2.3.2) 50/50 between 2 beneficiaries as I could with my residuary estate (2.4.2). However, no personal chattels have been allocated so I was able to disregard this issue.
I understand this is a business but having to pay extra for all the add-ons makes the overall experience somewhat expensive.

Just by following a list of straightforward questions, the site guided us through a quite complicated situation and then produced excellent documents. Being resident abroad, with some UK assets, and a complex family situation, I was expecting it to much harder.

The process provided was generally quite good and fairly easy to follow . The suggestion however that the time involved can be as little as twenty minutes is a little misleading . Even for the most straightfoward of circumstances , due dilligence and accuracy dictate that extra care (and time )should be taken over what is a very important document .
We chose to have copies of our documents shipped to us , not realising that they would be coming from Canada ( two weeks in total ) . The documents were sent in flimsy white envelopes , and arrived with creasing to the folders and enclosed paperwork . This is not acceptible for the £40+ postal charge . Further , the stapling of the documents is not wholly conducive to the signing process .
In summation , there are some elements of your operation that are in need of improvement / rectification.

It was the easiest of several Will writing services that I tried and I am pleased with the final results, although I am still waiting for a reply on some of the wording I would like changed. Had I received the help, I would have given 5 stars.

Initially I had an issue with paying before I had an enquiry answered about which type of will to finalise. . However I was able to connect with customer service and the staff member responded with a very detailed answer to my question and steered me in the right direction. Staff member was extremely helpful and I would recommend this service.

It was a fairly straightforward process for me, as I just wanted a basic will, to confirm my wishes.
