Kubota B2601 - a Lemon with No Support
Purchased a brand new Kubota B2601 HSD-1 4-wheel drive tractor to use at a golf range to push a golf ball picker. At the two year mark, the tractor stopped running completely. We contacted the dealer, Crystal Tractor in Leesburg, FL and they directed us to send the tractor to Sebring Florida for service. This cost $677 to transport the tractor there. At Sebring, they told us that we had a drive train problem and it likely would be covered under warranty. Of course, when it got to Kubota USA, they denied any claim and refused to do anything, not even a small concession. I've never had a two year old tractor die on me in 8 years much less the 2 it took for this one. The tractor was lightly used and we changed the oil regularly. After denying warranty, the Sebring dealer sent the tractor to the original seller, Crystal Tractor. They told us they submitted a warranty claim as a defect. Again, Kubota denied it. Finally, after two months without our tractor, we begged them to fix it. The dealer did so at a cost of $4,754. Add that to the $18,000 we spent on the tractor two years ago and you get a big, fat LEMON. After 30 years in the golf business, I can tell you that I will never again buy a Kubota product. They do not stand by their products at all when they have defects. They do nothing for you as a customer.
