I loved the flexibility. The only thing we didn't like much is that some teachers cancel classes a lot. Some classes, like cooking and physical education, aren't very practical. Otherwise, it's excell... Leggi di più

The teachers are fantastic and great. However , the only problem we have is a very frustrating online set up. It is not easy to navigate. It is been made more confusing , and it's really affecting what my kids get done.

This year, the teachers are amazing but the canvas app is confusing and I have never received any help logging into it or navigating it, and I did ask several times for help with it. I haven't been able to monitor all year what is being done or what needs to be done and my son has had issues turning in a few assignments through it but the teacher worked with us and had us just email the assignments in.

Excellent teacher communication. And my children actually get the help that they need.

The teachers are amazing!! It’s obvious how much they care about their students and want the best for them. I was skeptical if my daughter would be able to feel connected and I truly believe she is more connected than in person.

Majority of the school year was amazing with Teacher Haley Fidler but when she left in March we have had a difficult time adjudgtibg to class time changes over half way through class. Teacher Celeste Cornish’s teaching style is faster and not the same flow as Teacher Haley. We miss her dearly. We did appreciate still having Mrs. Storm in class but it seems like we don’t get as much time with Mrs. Storm as before. Before we’re were able to use Teach Haley and Mrs. Storm as a unit vs now if I speak with Mrs. Storm it’s as if I spoke to no one.

My daughter suffers from social anxiety and to be able to flourish by being on her way to obtaining her diploma through ISWA at the same level of education, if not higher than a regular school has been more than relieving as a parent.

We love the relaxed schedule and the system is easy to navigate.
We wish the math was more geared to individuals as not all kids understand advanced math. Its the only class I didn't push him to pass as he will never use it in his adult life.
He was doing great in English until he had to write an essay, now hes failing.
Teachers are great overall.
Going back to in person as he has no social life and wants to make friends.

Most of the teacher at this school are amazing my son is only struggling in 1 or 2 classes this semester this year ober all for him has been amazing he got the chance to do a credit recovery class last semester and passed and completed Spanish 2 b early. The classes he is struggling in he has taken before and not passed one of which the teacher is great about communication while the other is not. A lot of dead lines for digital photography overlap and if it wouldn’t have been his original pathway he would switch but doesn’t want to have to start all over with pathway credits. This school has overall helped my son blossom in so many ways with out the pressure of going in person and having recording of live session to review when he misses a class. Thanks again hoping to get my youngest enrolled for next year.

My son is ADHD/Dyslexic and has been going to this school since 2021 as an elementary student. Covid pushed us into this school but my son chose to stay.
It was hard sometimes because the online access to gaming distracted him until I noticed his grades. I then stepped in and started watching him on line and told him he needed to have 100 percent class assignments, and 100 percent on tests, because it's all open book and he can retake them 3 times so he has no excuse for not having the time to do this unless hes spending his time on games, and so he dose.
I don't like that so many of these teachers use gizmo to teach and other games online. Trying to keep him off gaming is hard enough without teachers pushing it. To me its lazy to teach this way and is a loop for the gaming world.
I like now, that my son is in high school here, he can move at his own pace. There are days he likes to finish as much as he can days ahead of scheduled class assignments in one subject then move on to the next class, so he creates his own days off. He also likes to directly talk to his teachers by email and setting up one on one time, if he's not quite clear on class recordings.
My son likes the class recordings because it cuts all of the stupid stuff out. Sometimes the teachers ramble on about stupid stuff, he says and sometimes he gets tired of the kids asking stupid questions. He tells me the teachers already told them that or all they have to do is read the book. He doesn't like that some kids talk about stupid stuff and seem immature to him,so he prefers to go to recordings.
The recordings work for us because of my work schedule and he is not allowed to be on the computer when im gone. The recordings, one on one's and flex systems helps us out tremendously and we love that for him and I.
The fact that this school is not brick and mortar means we can be on the road going places for vacation or my work or visiting family and friends.
Life's choices are more freeing and not held captive by my son's school schedule as much.
As he gets more in to the high school we wish there were more classes that could transfer earlier to college credits. There are some but he doesn't spend all day on games so he would like to have a chance to learn other classes also, all of the college credits start at 11th grade so next year but it would be nice if it stated earlier.
I know that there are online colleges so maybe getting in-line with an online college so students can get classes started with more then just a high school diploma. This would also teach them how college works not high school teaching where they try and get them to do their home work and take tests, in college you want it so you develop your own studying skills and habits cause you want it. The testing is also different so this is something they will have to get custom to. Just a lot more advanced advantages to add for kids online, instead of being tied down to just a high school agenda.
My son being medium in build, feels he would have to deal with other guys bullying him or messing with him like they did in brick and mortar schools, and he'd have to prove himself and has said he made bad choices to fit in sometimes and he likes he doesn't have to have that pushed on him.
In all my boy choose K12, this is the main reason we are here, the rest helps and the other requests would be nice for us now and would help others after us.
