At all stages I felt that I was dealing with a passionate and professional, premium company. The system (solar panels and powerwall) are performing very well.

Joju recently installed solar panels, a tesla powerwall and zappi EV charger for my house. They were superb from start to finish. Their expertise helped us plan the most suitable size solar array and best solar panels for our budget, and most impressively it has been setup in a way which allows us to maximise our solar generation and minimise our bills. The installers were professional, tidy, knowledgeable and respectful. I would definitely use them again and cannot recommend them highly enough.

Excellent communication by sales and project management during the project. Very hard working knowledgable installation team in terrible weather. Good relations, no disputes. 5 stars.

This is the 3rd time we have used JoJu having already had Solar PV, zappi charger, eddi and Tesla Powerwalls installed 5 years ago. This new project involved installing more PV and upgrading the Tesla Gateway which JoJu installed with their usual tidy professionalism despite its complexity. We worked through all the snags and the result is exactly as promised. We are very pleased and would recommend JoJu to anyone interested in Solar PV, home batteries and the other green technologies they offer. Many thanks JoJu!

I first came across JoJu Solar (JoJu) whilst researching the Tesla Powerwall2 battery (PW2) online via a video on the You Tube channel of Robert Llewellyn’s Fully Charged Show. It included an interview with Dr Chris Jardine – the Technical Director of Joju who is apparently an Oxford University academic with a long standing interest in Solar et al. JoJu also installed Robert’s new system.

JoJu’s website was a mine of additional information. I was reassured, given their Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accreditation, that they were competent to obtain the necessary G98/G99 grid connection approvals from my local Distribution Network Operator.

Additionally given Dr Jardine’s involvement they seemed very au-fait with the latest developments and improvements in technology. Consequently I felt comfortable inviting one of their engineers (note not a sales person) to visit my home to discuss my options.

It was thus that I met JoJu’s Rhys Phillips who happily answered all my many questions during a two hour interrogation (sorry Rhys!) and then shortly thereafter provided me with a comprehensive bespoke written document summarising my options (and pricing)

By March 2022 I was reading to proceed. Unfortunately it was at this point that energy prices started to spike and consequently the demand for all things solar et al went mad. JoJu were so overwhelmed by demand that they severely restricted new business enquiries. Fortunately for me, as I was already “in the system” I was able to proceed.

However it was not all good news as supply/demand constraints meant that in the interim pricing for my proposed PV/battery system had increased.

Updated documentation (and pricing) provided I signed a formal contract for installation and Joju’s Jan Wilson (based in Sheffield) was appointed as my project manager.

Jan’s preferred means of communication was email and whilst this might initially seem somewhat dis-concerting (I only ever spoke to him once on the telephone) the reality was it worked well. Everything was documented and he was very good at responding in a timely manner to queries and chasing suppliers.

Because of delays in replacing my home’s roof (shortage of tiles – no point putting PV panels on a 60 year old roof) it was not until June 2022 that I was ready at my end to proceed with installation of the system. However Joju were by now very busy and in the interim the supply situation had further deteriorated. The Tesla PW2 battery availability was put as up to 12 months and even less bespoke kit – solar panels and inverters were in short supply.

However come early October 2022 JoJu were ready to commence (albeit I would have to wait for my PW2 battery – this was eventually fitted in February 2023)

I would like to say that the installation was smooth and seamless but, with world events outside our control, frankly it was a nightmare for us all.

The specified PV panels that JoJu had ordered from their supplier did not turn up, then 14 days later the supplier sent the wrong panels (an error which was immediately identified – you read horror stories online of some companies dishonourably promising one item and surreptitiously fitting another, not JoJu!) Eventually the correct panels arrived and were installed.

The specified Solar Edge PV inverter (6KW) was unexpectedly unavailable so JoJu suggested as an interim measure to allow the installation to proceed a 5KW model (with an undertaking to swap it out free of charge for a 6KW model once it became available – an undertaking they honoured)

As you might imagine with the erratic supply, sequencing the work efficiently was impossible and thus there was a procession of trades people (electricians, roofers, scaffolders) appearing at my home over many weeks. Some were JoJu staff others subcontractors. It was somewhat chaotic, but I recognised that we were all in the same storm and amongst this chaos was my PM Jan reacting to events and continually bringing the installation back on track.

I would not want my above comments to be considered a criticism of JoJu, quite the contrary, as it demonstrated their ability to manage a difficult situation and the benefit of using a larger firm with a project manager.

My system has worked seamlessly since commissioning – no horror stories about incorrectly fitted CT clamps, it just works as advertised.

So to conclude, if you are looking for the cheapest price look elsewhere. However if you are looking for a reliable company who precisely follow the agreed contract and have a substantial depth of technical knowledge and experience, I would suggest you look no further..

From making the initial approach to Joju, to the removal of the scaffolding and rubbish from the site, there were no problems. All of my questions were answered promptly and all Joju staff worked to provide me with the installation that I wanted. I have no hesitation in recommending them for a solar PV and battery installation.

We had an electric car charger installed back in 2018 by JoJu Solar. When the charger recently developed a fault and had smoke coming out of it, I contacted JoJu immediately. They were quick and responsive to call and ensure that the electric circuit was isolated; but as soon as they realised our charger was out of warranty, they never responded back to me. I sent three emails chasing them, and heard nothing back. Calling them was useless as no-one picked up. They may be great at selling, but their after-care sales is non-existent. Disappointing.

The whole process ran smoothly and the installation took place on the exact dates that were planned and agreed. The installation team were tidy, kept me informed and very professional. Would recommend JoJu Solar.

From initial consultation, to design options and proposals, through installation of both solar panels and our Powerwall, the communication from the team of project manager and designer and installation was impeccable. Joju has been a refreshingly concern-free, worry-free engagement for us. I recommend them without any hesitation for high quality work.

In Roof panels and solar edge Battery storage installation

From initial contact through to system commissioning JoJu were exemplary. The initial site visit/survey; listening to our needs and energy usage to designing a solution; taking care of planning and implementing the installation were all done in a friendly professional manner. Excellent communication from the project manager and the installation team and contractors were very good at keeping us informed about what was going on and timings. At no stage in our project did I question whether JoJu were the right company to work with.

Joju was amazingly helpful and understanding throughout the entire process. My grandfather has dementia which has made him very worried about the increasing energy bills. We chose to go with Joju because they had worked on some of our council's electric chargers and was recommended by Tesla. The price quote was a little high but they are worth it. Everyone who dealt with us from design and planning to installation was friendly and understanding. We honestly couldn't be happier about how everything went. Our system (Tesla Powerwall 2 and 14 Solar Panels) has outperformed our demands and is working better then we ever expected. It feels really empowering to generate our own electricity and means that this whole system should pay itself off quicker then expected. We honestly couldn't be happier with how things went. Thank you so much!

The in-roof solar panel and Tesla Powerwall were installed on time.
I’m well informed of the progress throughout the process. With timely communication, delivery, scaffolding, skip for waste removal and installation, all the works were very well coordinated and completed nicely within the scheduled time frame. I’m very happy that the solar panel system works as expect. I can monitor its performance by the Apps in my phone and how much electricity it is generating.

Joju have been extremely professional, knowledgeable and supportive throughout our multi-phase project; following on from having a solar array installed on our roof and a diverter for our hot water tank, we had them back to install a battery and upgraded car charger and we won't hesitate to contact them again when we're ready to extend our array onto the garage roof.

We chose the remote survey option when we made our initial enquiry and were immediately impressed by the thoroughness of this process. As a techie I enjoyed being involved in the remote survey, taking measurements etc.

Our requirement was to invest in the best panels we could afford to maximise the yield for the available roof area, and minimise losses due to shading from our neighbour's roof. Joju nailed the brief! They advised us on the best brand of panels and the optimal orientation and layout needed to meet our needs. The design engineer, Jack, was very patient and helpful over a number of back-and-forth emails as I explored different options and how we could split our project into suitable phases.

Dan was our allocated project manager and the installation went like clockwork, as the scaffolders (a separate company but arranged by Joju) got everything ready a few days before the roofing team arrived to fit the panels and other components, which had been ordered in to arrive at the best time for the job. The electricians were also very helpful and answered all my questions.

Joju have also continued to provide excellent customer support as we've had various questions about configuring the equipment to get the most out of it.

In summary we would highly recommend Joju Solar!

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. The whole project was very smooth from the initial survey to the final sign off.
I completed the initial request online, got a response from a surveyor within a couple of days. He came out to do the survey within a couple of weeks. There was never any pressure and because he was the guy designing the system he could answer every question we had.
Throughout the whole process the project manager answered my endless questions promptly and with great patience.

You may find a cheaper quote but you won’t find a more professional team of people. Highly recommended.

Living in the next street from their offices, i tried to make an appointment for an estimate on solar panel installation. Was told that it could only be done online and i needed to fill in some form online, and that although my house can be reached without even leaving the main pavement, i could not arrange an appointment. What if i was blind? what if i was disabled? This is just the kind of 'modern' inflexible approach which seriously discourages potential customers....

We requested a quote that was done remotely with no knowledge of the surrounding oversized and could not fit it on our roof. Poor quality and never a response on the date to build it.

I had some additional Solar PV panels last December and then been waiting for the Tesla Powerwall to provide home battery storage to make the most of the solar power and use it for charging the e-car. The Powerwall was fitted last week (and the delays were due to supply issues. Jojo did and excellent job in both cases with very pleasant, knowledgeable and highly competent installers and I have been happy with the entire service from the initial discussions with Toby to assess the energy needs and then Bria who keep me informed during the commissioning process. I would highly recommend this company.
