This review is not intended to reflect on the Service Advisor, who was very good.

The prices quoted for repairs are just silly. I can't believe they actually believe people will pay the prices they ask, although the captive audience clearly do pay because they don't want, or can't be bothered exploring an alternative. Not a word of a lie - I could spend a week in a 5-star Glasgow hotel and have my car repaired at a specialist independent Volvo garage and still come back to the North East having spent less if I had put my car to John Clark

Part exchanged my car with an Xc40 and the customer service delivered by Adam Cardy was second to none. He was very open and honest and explained everything clearly and made it so much easier than I expected. Fantastic service and fantastic car!

The sales team were easy to access. The product was great and I was quite happy with the deal.
All demands met.

Saw a super young salesman. Declan knew his products really well. He was friendly, but not in our faces, assessed our needs , very patient with our requirements for our dogs, didn’t try to oversell. Crucially he delivered what he said he would, when he said he would do it. A very good advert for John Clark.

From seeing the vehicle online to going to view it and met with a very helpful Salesman Adam and that no question or request was an issue for him it made buying the vehicle very straightforward and stress free

Huge let down from Volvo Aberdeen, compounded by being completely ignored by John Clark MG. 5 cars in a row from this group but it will be a long time if ever I use them again. 3 attempts to contact customer relations, 3 times no reply. Approved used used to mean something, but now they are throwing out cars with faults, then back that up with shoddy customer service.

Had a lease car with Volvo. On inspection at the end of the lease It was pointed out that I had 2 cracked tyres. Inspector said they were "road legal" though and drove the car away.

These tyres were marked as an advisory on my last MOT in October. Even though I had a service plan and added tyres they were not replaced.

Now Volvo want to bill me for replacement at £163.42 each. So why didn't they replace them? What the hell was I paying extra every month for? A total disgrace of a company and I will fight this all the way...

From start to finish when purchasing our new car we were dealt with by Adam Cardy. He was quick to get back to us when we had queries, and was friendly and easy to deal with.

Customer service could be better as now two cars now small niggles when buying and service been poor in that front

Staff was very helpful, but took nearly a week to get a copy of my settlement letter/email due to Volvo financial IT issues this delayed vehicle release. Then wrong account details delayed another day. Noticed a large tear on floor Matt at release which was kindly changed last minute, then noticed a mismatch of different tyres on front of vehicle, Michelin premium on the rear but budget tyres on the front. The reason I changed my vehicle was purely for safety as now tow a large caravan. Hence I opted for the X90 T8 AWD with 400 BHP. Hence my disappointment when told the budget tyres were Volvo standard, I will replace these myself now. The budget tyres on the front are inferior to the premium tyres on the rear when breaking and manoeuvring especially in wet weather especially when towing. Staff did their best to put my concerns forward but manager advised these are Volvo standard.
Will continue to use Volvo as have serviced and maintained my previous S90 there the last 4 years and always used quality Volvo parts and their master techs.

Adam, the salesman, was very professional and knowledgeable about product he was selling and open to many questions on different models.
Good range of vehicles/style to choose from - both to see in showroom and test drive
The lady on reception was always welcoming and very friendly

I would not recommend John Clark Motor Group and specifically the Volvo Aberdeen branch to anyone. I picked up a brand new XC40 only for it to have a major fault merely 3 weeks in and 700 miles on the clock. As per the UK Consumers Rights Act I requested a full refund or replacement. From this point on it was problem after problem dealing with JCMG. The sales manager Stuart particularly stood out for being useless, offering me a very good deal on the phone for an alternative vehicle when I formally rejected the original vehicle, only to then tell me when I went in to the dealership that he in fact did not offer me that and implied that I was lying!

At this point I proceeded with the refund, which was rejected by Volvo UK due to the miscommunication from Volvo Aberdeen's sales and service teams. While this was ongoing I was being bombarded with phone calls from the service team to pick up the original vehicle as it was 'fixed', but Stuart told me it wasn't fixed as it needed bodywork welded. The incompetence is so rife at the dealership that they can't even communicate clearly between two departments in the same building. Eventually by escalating the ongoing problems the franchise director got involved and investigated it. I am thankful to him that he fought to get my rightful refund as per the Consumer Rights however if I was a customer thinking of using Volvo Aberdeen I'd be concerned by his comment to me that the technicians use 'artistic license' to diagnose and repair vehicles.

I've tried to keep this review succinct as the things that went on over a period of 6 months could make a novel, but in short if you want your money wrongly withheld by Volvo UK because of a dealerships incompetence, are happy to be called a liar and are comfortable with your car being repaired with 'artistic license' then by all means go ahead and purchase from Volvo Aberdeen and JCMG. If you have any sense you'll end up going elsewhere (Inverness and a wonderful experience with the service) and will purchase a better spec of vehicle for a lower price like I have thankfully ended up with.
