our 19thc wrought iron grate and pretty 'worked' curtain to surround the fireplace, were both black with age. Zak has done the most amazing job skilfully restoring both to gleaming glory: shiny but not overly so, clean and bright. We are thrilled to pieces having this handsome grate looking so beautiful now. Zak has restored our cast iron fireplace for our bedroom. He was very helpful explaining the process to us. We then dropped it off and he had different finishes to show us. Zak completed the work very quickly and we were amazed at the job he did, even being very helpful and creating more supports as we are fitting it ourselves. On collection Zak answered all of my questions about cleaning and keeping of the fireplace and even gave us a free tube of polish should we ever need it! It is clear he is passionate about his work and did an amazing job for a great price! Would 100% recommend! We are even going to purchase a second fireplace from him for the lounge!
I have just been completely ripped off by this firm. Ordered a throated lintel from them. When, within 20 minutes of it being delivered, lintel was placed in position, it was found to be cracked right through. However, despite the crack not being detectable until the lintel was put under the stress of its own weight, Zac just responded by saying that, as the builder did not inspect the goods and notice the defect before taking delivery of the lintel, this was not his problem. Avoid.
Zak has restored two fireplaces for me. It was like a godsend finding him as I searched for ages to find someone who could do the repairs who was based near to me in North London. As my family were installing the fireplace ourselves I had a lot of questions about how to do it - Zak answered all of them, which he really didn't have to do. He was very flexible about when I could drop off and collect my fireplaces. The restorations he has done for me are beautiful. And on top of all that, his prices are so fair. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him for a second!
