Perfect for finding Pen Pals
"IPF International Pen Friends" is perfect for finding Pen Friends/Pen Pals and also real friends the old fashioned way via slow, paper, snail Mail. In less than four months I already got 5 Pen Friends and I'm still waiting for the replies from some of the other letters that I sent (and from some people that received my name), that's super wonderful and amazing !
Some people have the exact same interests as me and some are completely different and it's wonderful to also learn a different perspective on life !
But there is something you must keep in mind with Snail Mail in general and IPF in particular:
- You should be open to everyone. If you are left leaning, you should be willing to also accept people that might be more conservative, if you are conservative you should also be willing to accept more left leaning people. Remember that they don't match you with a super detailed, in depth personal analysis like a super expensive Dating Service would do (because they are NO Dating service), since it's a Pen Pal service!!
- you should NOT assume it works exactly like social Media where you can just handpick people you think are a perfect fit for you and just click a red X for all the other ones you don't like, either. Finding a Friend the "old School way" via Snail mail is a completely different world !
- You must be willing to also make compromises. Sometimes you click, sometimes you just don't click at all. That's just the way it is.
- Sometimes in the countries you wanted there aren't any people with the same interests as you that are members of IPF. So you must be willing to make compromises and you must also be willing to talk to people who might have completely different opinions about the world as you.
- Of course you are not forced to write to people you absolutely don't like or don't "click" with or who have an unacceptable view about the world in your opinion, BUT, BUT sometimes you need to write a few letters to someone you originally thought "wouldn't fit" to get to know them a bit better and suddenly they do "fit" perfectly after you learn more about them, their hobbies and their lives ! I also had someone who I originally thought "Meh...it will probably not work" but now, after writing several letters back and forth it's like I met a "soulmate" or "long lost best friend". Sometimes learning more about each other and becoming friends just takes some time !
And this is also what makes it so wonderful! You will write to people from all across the world who might be completely different than you and you can hear how their life and country is from their own perspective and you will learn so much about their culture, lives and hobbies, (sometimes even if they live in the same country as you !)
- You should also have a lot of Patience, and I Mean "A LOT", some people wait quite some time with their reply, sometimes mail arrives after just 2-3 days with the recipient, sometimes it takes 2-4 months to arrive, sometimes your mail takes 2 days to your Pen Pal while his mail back to you letter travels for over 3 months!
- You should also accept that people from Countries you didn't select also write to you
- And you should select a bit more countries than the absolute minimum number of 8 they require, this will drastically improve your chances of finding a perfect pen pal, because some countries have many People that are interested in finding Pen Pals via IPF and some countries have only a limited amount of people who want to find friend via the "old School" Snail mail way. Keep in mind not everyone is writing slow, snail mail letters anymore today.
In My opinion IPF is not just what I expected, it's even Better !!
It's just like in the "Good old Times" of the past, where THIS (the slow, Paper Snail Mail with stamps) was the normal and basically only way of finding friends internationally.
IPF is like a journey back into the past where Airmail Letters with those blue/red marking still existed and every household always had a pack of stamps at home for their daily routine of writing letters.
If an old School Snail Mail Pen Pal who sends wonderful letters with stamps to you is EXACTLY what you are looking for, then IPF is the perfect way to find Pen Friends for you !
