Could be better from customer focus perspective

For our online store the basic functions are working reasonably well.

However I have few suggestions for the instamojo leadership team:
- Establish a customer forum where customers can come together to share learning and give feedback on what is working well and what could be better to instamojo design team.
- Many BASIC features are missing like delivery cost by weight and pincode combination(can't believe such a basic functionality missing!), delivery status update at item level(not just order level) in an order, ability to change abandoned cart email content etc. The help desk should have some experienced people than giving a booking response (sometime not even reading the issue properly).

Hope these get addressed fast.

Instamojo collected store monthly payment-not activated it and is not reachable

I have taken the online store membership for a trial basis for one month. After making payments, they ask me for KYC, i update the KYC. then i get an automated message saying that if i am raising my concern for KYC then it will take 10-15 days. So why have they accepted my monthly payment when my store will not get activated until 10-15 days.? Next I have tried to contact many times since yesterday , but just receiving automated emails. I had also booked an online appointment with sales online on their site, the meeting time for the new product has lapsed and no one has tried to contact me . I need a refund, there is not option for a refund. The method explained on their site is wrong. I need someone to get in touch immediately and resolve my issue

Definitely the worst payment gateway…

Definitely the worst payment gateway out there. Had an issue with their payment gateway where I was unable to collect payments on my website for 3–4 days straight, and these morons just would not respond. Called them on the number provided, but as expected, it did not work. Kept emailing them asking for help, and they never bothered to reply.

This went on for 3–4 days — I kept asking for help and they decided to keep mum. Tagged them on Twitter — as expected, no response. Messaged their super busy executives (busy I don't know doing what) on LinkedIn — you must’ve guessed it by now — yes, no response. I just hope someone on their team has the time to read some reviews and act upon them.

Unreliable Payouts & Worst Support – Avoid Instamojo!

Instamojo is one of the worst payment gateways we have used. While collecting payments is easy, getting our own money out is a nightmare!

Payouts are delayed for no reason – no clear explanation, no transparency. Customer support is useless – only copy-paste responses, no real help. Funds held without proper communication – businesses suffer due to their inefficiency.

If you’re a business that values timely payments, do NOT trust Instamojo! There are far better alternatives with faster payouts and better support.

🚨 AVOID Instamojo if you don’t want your funds stuck! 🚨

Instamojo **was** good once.

Instamojo was once good, but at 2025, I dont' have at least one good reason to recommend or susbcribe to them for my next project. As a web-developer I referred my clients to Instamojo because of the goodness of the gateway, but will no longer recommend it.

What I liked?
The payment gateway documentation was good with great and simple parameters with each-order specific callback URLs and it was reliable too.

What happened now?
They shutdown the sandbox/test environment. So, only the production environment is available and you are forced to test your application with genuine card and with a minimum transaction amount of INR 9.

Seriously? Yes, that's true.

The worst payment gateway

The worst payment gateway. With no customer service that can be reached easily. I made an event using their platform to book tickets. (I've used them for my other events earlier) I updated the KYC last year as I remember them harassing me about this last year. To the point I had to beg them to respond as time was running out. Same problem this year. After promoting the event I get feedback that the link is not working. I've spent 3 days begging for a response as to what the problem is now. I instead get Abijit with the same parrot response "our team is still figuring it out give us 24-72 hours" lol by when it's way too late to even promote my event. I've finally had to cancel it because this yucky platform is still stupidly going in circles. Today they want to know who the sponsors are what cancellation terms are etc!!!! How ridiculous that all this is not put in as questions while creating the event if this info is so necessary. It's been a horrible stressful time thanks to this useless platform THAT SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS WITHOUT BASIC ACCESSIBLE CUSTOM CARE. I hope you get acquired or just shut down cause whoever runs this rubbish company obviously is doing a rubbish job!!!

I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with Instamojo. I’ve been following up since 1st December regarding an incorrect product purchase, but their customer support has been completely unresponsive. It’s shocking and unacceptable for a company of this scale to ignore a legitimate refund request for weeks.

Their lack of accountability and complete disregard for customer concerns is appalling. I expected a quick resolution, but instead, I’ve been left waiting endlessly without any updates or solutions. This kind of unprofessional behavior is unacceptable, and I strongly advise others to think twice before trusting their platform.

If you value your time and money, avoid Instamojo at all costs. I will not hesitate to share this experience across other platforms to warn others about their abysmal support and service.

Just choose a different payment…

Just choose a different payment gateway, after using their service for 5+ years, The way they talk to their clients is pathetic to say the least, their service and people working for them, specially Karthik and Abhijit cannot even resolve a refund issue in 30 days, concerning behaviour. Advice everyone to use Stripe instead of Instamojo or any other indian payment gateway if possible. I think their staff just does not care if your business suffers. They keep changing their narrative and reply once a fortnight, making the client and business suffer, the issues do not get resolved in a month!! been 40 days, still waiting.

We am 4 years old customer, we earned more than 12 lacs on my website through instamojo gateway. We are a private limited company, submitted all our documents.
Suddenly they stopped our payment system without notification. We came to know from one of a customer, that they are not able to pay. When we checked, instamojo freeze our account and asked to upload bunch of documents, company MOA, AOA, board resolution with company seal and signature, ( Not even Govt asks that much document )
We uploaded everything, it took 2 months to verify and then asked to upload everything again. Another 2-3 months.
They have some 10th pass officials to check Private Limited Company documents and thinks themselves IAS officers.

Till today, our documents are not verified. The started premium service Rs.2999 / year. We even took the service to acclerate the process, but money went into SCAM.

Why I tell them a SCAM?
They don't have a customer care phone number, they dont disclose their company details ( CIN ) number, No public refund policy )

Completely pathetic response from Instamojo

We applied for a payment gateway service 2 months back and still they have not approved it. First they kept showing "KYC pending" message. Now for 3-4 week they have been showing "Our payment partners are reviewing your documents. It could take a few weeks for the review to be completed".

Their email support replies as shown below.

Prolonged Payment Delays and Lack of Resolution

We have been experiencing significant delays in the release of our payments, extending well over a month. Despite continuous follow-ups, a clear resolution has not been provided. The assurances given lack specific Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and the promised release has failed to materialize.

Our concerns are not isolated, as other coaches have reported facing the same issue since October 15, 2023. This suggests a systemic problem, possibly related to the payment gateway.

The current situation prompts the belief that immediate measures, possibly involving intervention by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), are necessary to address this widespread issue. A timely resolution is crucial for the smooth functioning of our operations.

Your attention to this matter is earnestly requested, and we hope for a swift and effective resolution.

Extremely unpleasant experience

I've perused additional reviews, and it appears that others are encountering a similar situation. Instamojo suspended my account, which I've been using for three years, and now they're requesting KYC verification. I subsequently requested that they close my Instamojo account and release the available funds, which amount to 3200 INR. I sent them an email a week ago (Ticket 881740), but I've yet to receive a response. This has been an extremely unpleasant experience.

The company is at loss and they stopped giving payouts to the customers. There are so many business owners are suffering from this scam. They intentionally stopped all the payouts from 16th october. They will not answer you via chat support and make a fake waiting time.
we have waited for the whole day in the chat but we never got any single reply. they dont even reply your mails.
My money of nearly 37000 is pending with instamojo and they are still asking for time.
we have changed the payment gateway instantly when we came to know the news.
Now we try to recover funds from that comapany. we are filing a legal complaint against them.

A complete waste of time

A complete waste of time, Instamojo never approves your account. I submitted my application with all the required legal documents, but even after more than 30 days, I received no approval from Instamojo. So, do not waste your time here; explore other alternatives. Instamojo's support system keeps claiming that the process takes 10-12 days every time, but there's never a concrete deadline.

Our payout has been delayed more than 2 weeks because of INSTAMOJO Internal issue

Our payout has been delayed more than 2 weeks now, Instamojo promised to get the payout done within 305 business days, and now it's been more than 2 weeks, still haven't received the payout. My payment since Oct 16th has been delayed, today while I am writing it is Oct 31st, and when I contacted their support they mentioned they are having an internal issue with their payment partner this delay, they assured me they will get done with the pending payout by yesterday end of the day. until now, it has been more than 24 hours there has been no payout and no confirmation on payout yet. Also, the UPI option within my store has been disabled again related to their payment partner issue. This is such a bad experience and wish there would be a better and faster resolution as this is impacting the business a lot because of cash flow issues.

We are looking to change the payment gateway, anyone reading this please suggest a better alternative so we can move away from Instamojo as soon as possible.

Also, I recommend anyone joining look for another alternative before considering INSTAMOJO

dear instamojo,

i got scammed by a seller, and i have raised these tickets 50 days ago

instamojo team is not responding to tickets, and not providing any resolution

and i am contacting every day through help section

iam not getting any response from instamojo
team show very un-professional behaviour to a customer who trusted your payment gateway

when it comes to other payment gateways, they provide resolution within 15 days
