Well I had a really good week at hughes driver training, i got treated with respect and got taught the proper way. My experience learning how to drive was excellent, the staff are very friendly and I highly recommend training with the company, I had a amazing instructor called Richard, very helpful very respectful and helped me pass my course at the end of the week. Richard was very respectful, gave me all the knowledge I needed and took the time to teach me right, very good instructor. Thanks a lot for the time and thankyou for a good experience.

Nick was amazing taught me everything thoroughly and made the experience enjoyable all throughout. Amazing instructor and wouldn’t choose anyone else !

Passed first time with HDT (Stourton).
Top bunch.

Paul M, my instructor, put me at ease for my first time in a Class 1. We had a great week working on developing the skills required and breezed me through the final driving assessment.

Everything is well planned, communication is brilliant and instruction is second to none.

I did my c+e course with HDT, instructor Heidi and she was very helpful & taught me very well. And ended up passing first time so happy days.

I used Hughes Driver Training to complete my Module 4 CPC. The booking was straight forward from start to finish, with clear direction and material to help with my test. Very friendly and helpful 😊 Would absolutely recommend to anyone!

I have recently passed my HGV C with a four day course, at the Coleshill site.
I had Richard as my designated trainer. What can I say, this guy is brilliant, he makes it very easy to understand what is needed.

Even when I made a mistake he explained the best way not to make that mistake and knows exactly where I was going wrong.
So much so i passed with only one minor.

I had a very positive experience learning with Keith. He provided comprehensive instruction on lorry operations, starting from the foundational aspects. Keith is an effective and affable trainer who demonstrates a high level of proficiency in his work. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with him.

Just passed my class 1 first attempt with HDT they made it all as easy as they could to understand and jake kept me informed with everything all threw it and a mention for dan who was my teacher made everthing simple and easy to understand and a real credit to the company how he teaches

Had the pleasure of Daz and Rich last week at the Birmingham/Coleshill depot. Both were extremely professional and knowledgeable whilst making it enjoyable at the same time. Thanks to them i managed to pass my Cat C driving test 1st time!

I passed my HGV a few days ago, and I would like to say a big thank you to John and Paul from Icknield Way Farm HDT.
These instructors are calm, highly experienced drivers with a lifetime of driving knowledge. The most important thing you can do is simply listen carefully to what they tell you. If you choose not to follow their advice, then you cannot blame them for your mistakes.
John and Paul are not only excellent instructors who never shout and always remain calm, ready to explain how to handle different situations, but they are also genuinely nice people with strong values and great life experience.
I passed my driving test on the third attempt. It is very common not to pass on the first try, and that is definitely not because of the instructors. It simply takes time to improve and fully understand what DVSA examiners expect from you on the road. Sometimes you can even be unlucky during your test due to unexpected situations that may lead to a failure.
But don’t give up — keep going and stay focused.

I did my training in Plymouth with Steve. I found him and the whole experience incredible. He was very calm and reassuring with me. I informed him of struggling with dyslexia and he was very accommodating and couldn’t do enough to help. Would highly recommend. Thank you

At 55 yrs old I decided to have a career change from a successful management career and take my Class 1 HGV test and change direction with my life. After speaking to numerous training companies I settled with Hughes Driver Training. The support, communication and training material was excellent. Jake who answered my initial enquiry has been brilliant and always at the end of the phone to answer any questions I had in a timely and professional manner.

Mark my tutor at their Loughborough training school was excellent and made the whole experience enjoyable and relaxed considering how stressful it can be achieving your Class 1 licence. His years of experience as a professional Class 1 driver was invaluable in helping me to pass on my 1st attempt with only 1 minor recorded.

So, in a nutshell anyone looking for a driving school fo HGV’s need not look anywhere else!

My experience was brilliant. My instructor Keith was great, he trained me on class 2 HGV located in Northampton. He didn’t make me feel pressured at any point and was very professional throughout my 4 day course. The course was laid out well as it enabled me to get comfortable with the vehicle during the time presented. I passed my practical test with 1 minor on my first go and whilst the test was daunting, Keith helped me keep a level head throughout the course, explained what the examiners would expect from me during the test and overall was a positive experience. I would recommend Hughes Driver Training to anyone thinking about getting their HGV license.

I’ve just completed my Category C licence with Hughes Driver Training in Plymouth. I started on Monday and passed first time today with only three minor faults!

A huge thank you to my instructor, Steve, and also to Chris, who guided me through the reversing part of the test. Both are fantastic instructors — professional, supportive, and very easy to get along with. They made the whole experience enjoyable and helped build my confidence throughout the course.

I’d highly recommend Hughes Driver Training to anyone looking to complete their HGV training, and I’m looking forward to coming back soon to do my Category C+E.

Absolutely brilliant company from the first day i arrived Nick made me feel welcome and supported he showed me how to drive (I had never driven a lorry before ) I picked it up fast Nick is a very good instructor and explains everything very well after being on my 5 day course I passed today could not of done it without Nick
