"Family Owned" Nightmare

HRI has turned the "family owned business" platitude into a red flag.

Here's the "family owned" experience you can look forward to at HRI:

Primary owner took referrals from us for years and never paid us as he agreed to ($300 per). Never gave us a single discount for our help (or referrals he took for free).

Owner's wife lied about warranty work. Stated we didn't pay for replacement parts. We still have the invoices for the parts she charged us for. We kept screenshots of her telling us she never charged us as proof because HRI keeps lying.

Owner daughter repeatedly tried to increase the price of storage for our machines. This was in direct contradiction to what the Owner stated was the monthly price per machine stored.

Owners wife and daughter placed the blame on us for their machine that repeatedly kept freezing and exploding cases of drinks. We paid for a service call to fix the issue which was NOT fixed. Same issue persisted until we had to junk the machine. We requested a service call (again) which the wife and daughter of the owner refused.

After collecting five figures of profit from us over the years, Owner's wife told us to find a service provider after they stiffed us with their junk machines.

Owners son openly mocked our religion. He also mocked our vending business (we bought our first machine in 1991).

Not surprisingly the Owner's son is in forfeiture for owing six figures on his property. This is all public record. This is the "man" taking over the "family business."

This is the sad future (and soon demise) of HRI.

In summary, these folks have a serious issue telling the truth. Being in business for over 30 years means absolutely nothing when you have no competition in the area.

The only thing breaking faster than HRI's word and machines is their reputation.

We are warning you to NOT use them. You will regret it.

The Used Car Salesmen of Vending Machines

If you love surprises, you’ll love HRI Vending! You never know if your 'refurbished' machine will work today or freeze your drinks into soda grenades.

They brag about being in business for over 30 years—too bad they haven’t learned anything in those 30 years.

Overpriced JUNK

They'll sell you 20+ year old JUNK (i.e. "refurbished" units) and when it constantly breaks, they'll BLAME you and LEAVE you out to dry!

I used HRI Vending since 2018 for all my moving and service. Even when I had "white glove" delivery set (and paid for) for my 20+ fleet I used HRI to move my machines.

I went to far as to drive and drop off a check for Mark Hytry because he was short on payroll once. I gave the Hytrys' many referrals over the years. I was never given a discount even after helping them.

Recently I was sold a "refurbished" machine from HRI. By "refurbished" I mean they spray painted the exterior cabinet black and cleaned it. I was literally taken off a barn floor and sold to me for $2,300.

I've had the drink machine from HRI for about a year and a half. Since then the unit would freeze (and explode) my drinks. I also had to replace the coin mechanism. I paid HRI's ridiculously priced service fee ($1.50 per mile round trip; $110 per hour). He then sold me a full priced junk refurbished control board to fix the freezing issue. Around six months later (today), its freezing and exploding drinks. Again. FOR THE THIRD TIME.

Mark's wife and daughter's response? Go on the offense! "It's a refurbished unit, what do you expect? Like all mechanical things they break!" Funny none of my other 20+ machines have EVER done this.

Maybe, when you have a customer that's on the phone with you looking at over four dozen frozen exploded soda cans inside his machine and leaking out FOR THE THIRD TIME say "I'm sorry! How can we help?" and not go on the attack.

FIX and TEST the machines before you sell them.

Most laughable was his daughter's response, "A new machine costs over $11,000." I can easily get a new machine, delivered, for around $6000. What an insulting thing to try and pass off on an experienced vendor.

I requested that a service call be put in. She stumbled and bumbled because I didn't know the exact address. HINT: It the same address on the invoice in front of you. The same place the tech came to the last two times.

I'm getting more irritated at this point so she says, "I'll call you back" and HANGS UP.

The owners wife then calls about an hour later and asked, "Why are the cans exploding. Are you putting the cans in wrong?" Yes, I'm putting the cans in so they freeze and exploding.

I requested that the machine be picked up and taken off the property. The owner's wife refuses.

She uses profanity and tells me to shut up. She then informs me "We aren't looking for any more machines! Sell the machine and find a new service provider." CLICK. Happily!

So many lies from them and such poor service from someone that I've spend thousands and thousands of dollars on since 2018. I helped this guy and his family business. This is what you can expect from HRI.

No matter how well you treat them, they will find a way to take advantage of you and never give an inch.
