If I had the option to give 0 stars, I would – but unfortunately, that’s not possible.

I recently had a kitchen extension done and had to go with Howdens again. My experience 8 years ago was excellent – great discounts and top-notch service. Sadly, this time has been a complete letdown.

The manager told me their pricing structure had changed, so they couldn’t offer the same discounts. Fair enough – until my next-door neighbour told me Howdens were willing to match prices for them. They ended up ordering from another supplier. Lucky them.

In addition to the kitchen units, I also purchased doors, locks, latches, etc. Some items arrived incorrectly, others I changed my mind on – it was a lot of back and forth. The work was finally completed in November, but I’m still waiting for my refund. I’ve been chasing it almost every week since.

The manager is either extremely busy or simply inefficient – I honestly can’t tell. She doesn’t return my calls, and I haven’t been able to get through to anyone above her either.

My money is still stuck, and this entire experience has been incredibly frustrating.
I strongly advise others to stay away after this appalling service.

Not good customer service, . I got a better price in howdens crawley but here in croydon the person doesn't seems to be interested to do the business, saying he can't do any discount all discounts are done by the office which he clearly lied on my face and after few minutes he left in his car . Absolutely appaling service , the Asian guy with blue car.

While businesses need customers this customer made it difficult for us to buy in croydon, I will have to go crawley to pick up the order ,not very happy as a trader it will waste time . I told him I'm a new customer but he didn't seem to bother 🙄 😒

This the old review for Howdens' Croydon I put up a couple of years back. The organization does not have any response apart from parroting standard corporate clichés. Just bringing this again so that customers are aware how Howden's employees could potentially collude with tradesmen to cheat customers.

Potential Collusion of Howden Employees with Rogue Tradesman
Beware of dealing with Tradesman that claim to work with Howdens and also with Howdens South Croydon. We have been conned by a rogue/cowboy Tradesman firm, going by the name of Freeman Jones Design Limited: Nicola Freeman Roach and the actual helmsman of the firm Jermaine Jones. The tradesman provided us a quote from Howdens and took money in advance from us. When we asked for evidence from tradesman, he kept on providing alibis.
When we went to Howdens to confirm if any order has been placed, Bev from South Croydon depot not only refused to confirm us that any order has been placed provide us stating that they cant share the information with us due to GDPR issues but also shared our mobile number and name with the crook that Freeman Jones is. What we got to know is that the fraud firm Freeman Jones design ltd has not placed any order with Howdens for us yet, and also owes ~5 grand to Howdens and that is over 90 days past due . What is very suspicious is that the Bev slipped out that she's still in contact with Jermaine Jones and had received a voice note on WhatsApp from him. She shared I find it extremely suspicious that an employee would be in touch with a tradesman who has defaulted. I suspect collusion between Bev.
When pointed out that it is very odd that the staff would still be in touch with a defaulter tradesman on personal mobile phone, Bev left in hurry and refused to share the WhatsApp that she got and also refused to talk further and provide any further issues under GDPR. However, Bev and team had no issues providing our information to them. Not to be missed, Jermaine Jones tended to offer “cash backs” to people as he told me multiple times that he likes to take care of people who take care of him through cashbacks. Who knows, what might have happened here.

The are helpful, friendly and do listen with excellent customer service.

Wayne was very helpful and went above and beyond to help us with our kitchen.

Not good at responding to Emails and sorting out queries. Invoices should be clear and unambiguous. This is a blemish on the wonderful service we received at the onset. Particularly thankful to Wilfred Karamoko who was simply fantastic. We are very pleased with the furniture and devices

John the kitchen designer at Howdens in Croydon went the extra mile to provide me with an excellent service and now I have a beautiful kitchen, that excites me!

John designed my kitchen with effortless ease, achieving what individual kitchen fitters and top kitchen companies concluded was impossible to achieve for me - an L shaped kitchen.

I believed God would do the impossible and he used John to bring my vision to life!

Thanks to John and Howdens I have an elegant looking kitchen that cost less than one made over with new doors!

3 time in the row cant get full order at the store,sending trough other 3-4 stores to collect rest misding kitchen parts. To get kitchen picket while waiting even if its just 5 units takes forever. Sloves service ever seen at howdens and only in croydon branche

Howdens Croydon were recommended by our builder (despite us living in North London)
Wayne Toogood came to measure up and drafted plans based on our requirements. We had several follow up meetings and Wayne was very accommodating with all my revisions and changes !
Howdens price matched several of the appliances and the overall costs was very fair.
Delivery was prompt and our builders queries were quickly resolved. Really great service and a beautiful kitchen as a result.

I recently just got a trade account with Howden's Croydon and was very pleased with my first kitchen unit order, customer service wise. Thank you to Jack who helped me to design the order. Very friendly and professional and has shared many useful information. Also thanks to Dan from the Depot, who kindly provided me with a copy of the instruction manual for the kitchen unit. Highly recommended, thank you guys for all your help.

Incredibly helpful - listened carefully to my kitchen requirements . John Lau was extremely professional and drew my kitchen plans beautifully utilising the space to its best potential whilst keeping my budget in mind . Will continue buying my kitchens from Howdens in the future.

Phenomonal customer service provided by Wilfred Karamoko in Croydon Branch - if it wasn't for him would have purchased the kitchen from Magnet across the road.

Andrew Livingston - please make not of this guy, one to fast track up the business!

Excellent staff, dick is friendly and fast. Jazz is good at fitting problems regarding stock etc.

Bev at the Croydon branch was so helpful, she really knows her kitchens & knew exactly what would work best in my kitchen space.
Highly recommended.
