Enquired about a car, viewed it and bought it, just reading the reviews on here is certainly not the experience I had,in fact the complete opposite,dealt with Ross first who was very good and polite, gave me a fair price for my car,I would have liked more but we all would,I was/ am delighted with the new car, had a Mark on the tail light lens which I overlooked and forgot about until I got home, spoke to Ross who spoke to Angus and money for a replacement lens was immediately back in my account, they have beautiful cars there all gleaming,I found the way they operate by appointment only is a great experience as you have there full attention all the time, one thing there was no pushing to sell,a great experience and I would highly recommend them, change over day it was Angus I dealt with, last time I dealt with Angus was in the 80s and that experience was also good, would I deal again, certainly, Don't understand all the negative reviews, certainly not what I experienced, no one asked me for a deposit before I went to look at the car,I offered it myself as I knew it wouldn't sit for long the way they are turning them around,I bought a car from Arnold Clark for my wife couple of months ago and the experience was the opposite of horsepower cars, I was in and out in under the hour with my new car from Angus, straight forward deal,no messing around trying to sell extra, wishing them well for the future,

So called Family run business whose little cronies describe him as being an amazing man. Such an amazing man that he put on his public business Facebook page a picture of a ex customer who called him out for being a con man and his “followers” decided to ridicule him. Calling him a pedo, pervert, c**t, needs a good kicking etc. and Angus finds this acceptable by joining in and liking comments. “Respectable business owner” haha what a joke. Does Angus realise it’s against the law to use his business platform to encourage hate and bullying over silly little comments like “Karma, meet you at the soup kitchen”. If this is how he reacts to a few comments I’d hate to think what he would do if someone really p***ed him off!

Owner cannot take criticism of any form. Seems to have sort of god complex. Posts people who post "bad" comments about him. Puts there pictures onto his page slagging off there appearance to his followers. Disrespectful and unprofessional. When pulled up about this he proceeded to block me. So here I am. Dont buy from this guy. If he conducts himself so poorly on his page I dread to think what he does behind closed doors.

Advice is Avoid !

I bought a Discovery Sport 6 weeks ago and can’t complain about the level of service, did I have any issues? Yes, were they dealt with quickly and professionally? Yes.
One of the keys was faulty and I got ALBA Locksmiths to supply me a new one at £385, Angus reimbursed me for this very quickly.
I had a strange noise which I suspected to be an aux belt tensioner which it was, I spoke to Ross who directed me to the garage who does their warranty work in Inverness and they fitted a new one while I waited, great service.
My only issue now is with the DVLA who have failed to provide me with the new documents for the car.
As far as Horsepower Cars is concerned, I couldn’t fault them, they’ve been great to deal with and communication has been smooth and successful.
I have no reservations about recommending them for your business and I’d certainly consider returning to them in the future.

Still waiting on my deposit which they now say will be returned at anytime these people are dishonest as all I want is the deposit returned so will keep on with bad reviews until this matter is resolved

I initially put a deposit on a car, which on viewing had a smaller boot that I had anticipated, I had my deposit returned immediately, I then 2 weeks later saw another car I liked and have since proceeded with the sale. Very good customer service and great to deal with

Would NOT buy a car from here ever again!! Bought a very smart looking car of Angus, there was a problem with the breaks said he would fix it never did, asked him for a refund he refused! Kept taking to the garage he uses (Mtech), where he would say it was fixed but never was. Had to pay to fix it myself. He is a dodgy sales man selling cars with breaks that don’t work properly! And no intention of resolving it. Definitely buy a car else where.

WILL NOT REFUND YOUR DEPOSIT
They do not abide by best practice: where major dealers ask £99 deposit fully refundable, they asked me £200 and said I had no right to change my mind, when I found out within 24 hours that the vehicle was overpriced, with very high mileage and very poor service history, and an outstanding recall from the manufacturer. Also, they keep registration numbers hidden so that you are unable to check the vehicle's MOT history beforehand. That's how "honest" and "transparent" they are! They are middlemen, and the guy Angus said they purchase their vehicles from major dealers like Pentland Land Rover which abide by best practice, unlike Horsepower. KEEP AWAY! AVOID AT ANY COST or YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!

Exemplary customer care, service and support from Angus, Ross and Shirley who made us very welcome.

We never felt rushed or pushed into purchasing our Range Rover Sport which my wife has named Angus. We have now arrived home and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the 3 hour drive.

I would highly recommend you visit their website to view the beautiful cars they have in stock. Don’t hesitate to give them a call either. You will find them very friendly and helpful.

PS: Angus has a great selection of sweets on his desk in a bowl, if you should happen to have a sweet tooth as I do!! Thank you Horsepower Cars. 👍

Well after being sold an amazing car and beingovercharged for taxing the vehicle, I found out itwasn't taxed after all on the .gov website, and being stopped by the police for having no roadtax, so after several calls ro the.gov dvla, I was informed under no circumstances can I drivethe car legally untill I receive the official v5 document, so a new car and overcharged tothe car legally untill I receive the official v5 document, so a new car and overcharged toallegedly tax it. To find out that we can't drive the car, after several heated conversations with Rossand Angus lugging in. I was given a photo of a bit of paper via whats app to "" prove"" the car was taxed, this will not standup in any court of law, a whats app tax slip on a bit of A4 anyonevould have printed, then I was overcharged for theprivilege £45, this morning 3/05/2025, the car is still untaxed on the .gov website,
The car could have been taxed using the vin number on the screen, as the car is was sold never had the v5 or any paperwork with it.....veryweird indeed. Why I could of paid £195 on the.gov website and not charged £240 for it not to be charged.I wrote an amazing review on their Facebook page, saying how we will promote them on all media platforms, nothanks was given, instead, I've been blocked on Facebook, so now oyts time for a more upto date honest review of being overcharged for a car

What a horrible and sad man you are, with your lies, you were told yesterday about the tax situation, and we sent you the proof that it can take up to two day to show online, and we Sent you receipt to show you were wrong, you also told lies about being stopped by the police for no tax, yes lies so what I am going to do, is publish your review on our Facebook page, it has an amazing following, but ill boost it to make sure the ad is seen by a million people or so, I do hope you enjoy reading it. You are full of spite and hate, and we're clearly blind drunk or on something yesteday when you were on the phone. Anyway enjoy the lovely car you bought and we're so pleased with our service that you left us a wonderful review, of which I have screenshot off.

Aye good on you Angus letting me drive down the road untaxed, you still owe us a refund for the overpayment of taxes too.

My wife was arriving around illegaly axcording to .gov DVLA as the car was not taxed, no Insurance wirh my children in the car, tou are nothing but a wee man with a big mouth, blocking me on facebook so I can't post your horrid reply
