Great trip to EBC. Would highly recommend - very well organised and super helpful throughout.

we did sleep at everest base camp trek and it was awesome. Highland was great and cam through on the fact that all the logistics in the country were taken care of with airport transfers and tickets and permits, etc... Our guide was great and knowledgeable about all the mountains. would highly recommend.

Thank you to Highland Expeditions for an incredible adventure to Everest Base Camp! I can’t recommend this company enough. Pasang and his team take care of you from the moment you book including excellent communication about what to expect, very helpful and timely responses to any questions you have as well as complete assistance the moment you land in Nepal. Our flight was delayed coming into Nepal and Highland waited the 1hour+ delay and picked us up after midnight and took us straight to our hotel making us feel super safe and stress free. They provided a wonderful hotel located centrally and gave recommendations of things to do until the trip.

Phunu and our assistant guide Pasang were absolutely incredible! They really take care of you make sure you eat safely, hike safely, and don’t suffer from altitude sickness. They brought Diamox to help and gave appropriate instructions for best care. They offered incredible facts about hiking in the region, Sherpa culture, and all of the beautiful mountains around. They chose top notch tea houses that were safe and very comfortable. Mostly, they made the experience so fun with so many laughs and fun games. It was truly an experience I will never forget.

I can’t recommend this company enough. Going with a local trekking company proved to be the right decision because they are super connected and know all of the right people to help you have a wonderful time! Despite bad weather returning to Kathmandu, Pasang and his team at Highland arranged a last minute helicopter for us to get back to Kathmandu on time, with a driver ready to pick us up. They truly take care of you from start to finish!

I can’t recommend Highland Expeditions enough! My husband and I recently hired them for the EBC Trek with Chola Pass and Gokyo Lake with helicopter return. Everything went smoothly from Kathmandu airport pick up, hotel check in, and handling the flight to Lukla. Passang was able to get us on a helicopter the next day due to the weather and our trek had begun. He also helped with the rearranging the return flight back to Kathmandu. Our guide, Aakash, was great and we enjoyed learning about the culture and the different towns we stayed in. I struggled a little during the hikes and he don’t make me feel rushed or that I was holding our group back. Shoutout to our porter, Budhi, who carried our duffles each day. Truly a superhuman. The biggest plus was knowing that Highland treats all their employees, specially the porters, well. I have a lot of respect for trekking companies that do that. We will absolutely hire Highland Expeditions again for our next trek in Nepal!

It was a lifetime experience! Something I shall relish as an important lifetime memory. Enjoyed every moment of what I and we did. Totally loved the journey and Highland Expeditions played a key role in making my trip memorable, enjoyable and fun. They handled all the arrangements and their staff were totally professional, courteous and friendly. Recommend the "Highland Expeditions" company to those who wish to climb in Nepal !!! Sleep at Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo Lakes

I would give more than 5 stars if I could!

The trip was perfectly organized from start to finish. All staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful.

The small group size (5 members + 2 guides) made the experience even more special. We always felt heard—any requests we had, whether it was changing the start time in the morning, taking additional routes, or visiting attractions not on the original itinerary, were always approved without hesitation.

The Highland Expeditions team proved their professionalism and dedication time and again in various situations, such as:

Providing a duffel bag, a very warm down jacket, and a down sleeping bag on request

Quickly arranging a helicopter when there were no flights to Lukla, so we didn’t lose a day

Responding to a group member affected by altitude sickness by administering oxygen and organizing a helicopter evacuation, all while coordinating everything with the insurance company

Seamlessly arranging a helicopter return from Base Camp for another group member who decided not to walk back

We always felt safe and well taken care of, knowing we were in the hands of highly experienced and professional people.

I don’t often write reviews, but in this case, I felt I owed it to Highland Expeditions. If you're thinking of doing a trekking trip in Nepal—don’t look any further. Highland Expeditions are truly exceptional and will go above and beyond to make sure your experience is unforgettable.

So pleased we chose Highland Expeditions for our trip to Everest Basecamp! Passang was quick to respond to all our (excessive!) questions ahead of the trip, putting our minds at ease. On day 1 of the trip HE proved their premium status when I left my phone at the hotel in Kathmandu, and the team mobilised to retrieve it and get it to me at the airport (thank you)! Our guide Prashant went above and beyond to keep us safe from yaks, ensured we were medically fit as we increased in altitude and kept us motivated with songs, stories and banter. Our porter/sherpa guide BB was a smiling superstar! Highly recommend Highland Expeditions to safely deliver this challenging trip.

My first time in the Himalayas and it blew away all my expectations

Everest Summit Expedition 2024. This company's organisation and execution of this expedition was excellent. The expert knowledge, abilities and prioritisation of safety shown by everyone I encountered made this an experience of a lifetime.

I don't believe I can rate this company high enough. I'm not sure I can find the words to describe the high standards of service we received.

From the moment I decided to use Highland Expeditions Passang was available on email and WhatsApp answering all my questions and helping me to change aspects of the trip and nothing seemed to be a problem at all.

Once we arrived we were met by Dawa with a big smile like we were already friends. Everything was then taken care of for us. We were taken to our hotel, booking in was done for us, all transport arranged, we didn't have to worry about anything except what would would like to eat or drink. KGH was a gem in the heart of Thamel and we couldn't of asked for a better base on our trip.

Now for the actual base camp trek... it was absolutely perfect. Even if we spent time trying to think of a fault we couldn't come up with one.
Our guide Horizon was amazing, he also became our pace setter, our photographer, our teacher and our friend. We can not praise him and Bala high enough. We felt safe at all times, we knew we could trust them with any questions or problems we had and nothing was ever an issue.

We were surprised at how good the tea houses were on our stay. You read horror stories but we were really happy with places we stayed and again Horizon went out of his was to make sure we were comfortable at all times. The trip itinerary was perfect to avoid altitude sickness and we had an amazing time throughout.

Another thing I wanted to review was the personal touch received from Passang. He is a very busy man dealing with all the trips and expeditions taking place yet he always makes sure that he meets you at the hotel before and after and we went for a welcome meal. This personal touch also makes Highland Expeditions stand out amongst other companies.

I will definitely be returning to Nepal and would not consider using any other company.

From the moment I contacted Highland Expeditions approx 16 months prior to the commencement of our trip, Passang could not have been more helpful and was always available (via WhatsApp) for any questions we had.
We were a group of 4 friends, joined by another couple, making us a group of 6. For our group we were led by lead guide Phunu and assistant guides Pemba and Ajaye. We could not have asked for better guides! Not only did they ensure our safety and make sure we were walking at a nice slow pace in order for effective acclimatisation but they were also fun!
Our accommodation was of a great standard and included ensuite bathrooms up to and including Deboche. From Dingboche and above bathrooms were shared but always inside (apart from base camp itself).
Unfortunately my trek was cut short on our acclimatisation trek at Dingboche due to severe injury. Phunu calmly flew into action and arranged for my transfer to Dingboche clinic and heli-evac.
I was accompanied by Pemba to a Kathmandu hospital where Passang was there waiting. I remained in hospital for 6 days with Pemba by my side everyday and Passang visiting twice every day to check on me. This by far exceeded any expectations I had of both of them but shows the dedication and care Highland Expeditions has for its clients!
The remaining members of our group made it to and stayed overnight at base camp without any issues thanks to the care of our guides.
Am I going to return to finish my trek? Yes.
Will I utilise Highland Expeditions for my trek? Absolutely without a doubt!!!

Above and beyond all expectations! The team at highland expeditions has absolutely everything prepared and covered. From the moment we arrived in Kathmandu and picked up from the airport to the moment we departed - we felt cared for, supported, prioritized, and treated so well!

We completed the sleep at Everest base camp trek - 12 days of trekking total, and our guide Horizon was absolutely amazing! From the daily preparations, to the support, pace, and knowledge shared - it was above all expectations. The team at base camp welcomed us so well overnight for our stay at camp.

Every detail, accommodation, food, prep, value, etc. - I have absolutely nothing bad to possibly say about this company. If you are debating on doing the trip - book it! And do it with Highland Expeditions - you will not regret it! A once in a lifetime experience and forever grateful we chose this team to do it with!

Amazing EBC trip with Highland Expeditions!!

This trip could not have been better. Highland Expeditions over delivered, made sure we had the best experience possible. Our guide and porter were fantastic! Took great care of us the whole time. Can’t say enough nice things about this company and the people they work there.

We really enjoyed our time and made some amazing memories during our trek to Everest Base Camp with Highland Expeditions.

Fantastic trip to Everest base camp from start to finish, I can’t speak more highly about my experience with Highland Expeditions.

The whole team went above and beyond to ensure that our trip was the most memorable experience.

Absolute disaster. They ran us out of food at camp four. My Summit attempt for Mount Everest was completely stolen from me due to just gross competence and greed. We kept skipping camps because they did not want to pay the porters to set up the tents. I chose not to attempt the last pitch to The Summit because I'm not dying over anything. One of my teammates had a stroke on the South Summit so they tied him on a short rope and physically dragged him to the North summit because they needed the percentages. Unbelievable! If you absolutely have to go to Everest than certainly there has to be a better company. Good luck!

We completed the EBC Helicopter Trek with Highland, and had an amazing time! From start to finish, they took great care of us. Passang and Dawa made the before and after seamless, checking in with us and making themselves available if we needed anything. Our lead guide Prashant, and the rest of the team kept us happy and safe on the trek! We always knew what to expect for the day and never felt pushed past our limits.The trek was breathtaking, and the lodges and food exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a trekking adventure!

Akash was our main guide, with Jeet and Kalandar as the assistant guides along with 6 porters for our group of 10. We felt safe, taken cared of, and well guided. It was not a challenging trek and we got support all the way to the base camp successfully. Passang and Dawa handled operations seamlessly and efficiently. Highly recommend them to anyone venturing trekking in Nepal!
