⭐ 1 Star – Absolutely Horrible Experience with Hertz Rental Car! It truly does not deserve a one star. I had to select this to leave a review.

A confirmed reservation means absolutely nothing to Hertz!

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the horrible customer service and complete lack of accountability I experienced with Hertz Rental Car in Orlando, Florida.

I made a reservation to pick up a rental vehicle at the Hertz Orlando Airport Marriott Hotel location, 7499 S Augusta National Drive, Orlando, FL 32822.

After arriving at Orlando International Airport (MCO), we took the hotel shuttle to the Marriott to pick up our reserved vehicle. When we arrived, there was no Hertz employee at the rental counter! Instead, we found a sign with a phone number to call.

When I called, the employee informed me that they had NO rental cars available and suggested I contact the Hertz location at MCO Airport. I called the airport location and was told they had no vehicles available either.

I called the Marriott Hertz location back, hoping for some type of assistance or solution. Instead, the employee told me there was absolutely nothing she could do because their rentals are handled on a first-come, first-served basis. She even admitted that she did not understand why Hertz's website continued allowing customers to make reservations when they had no vehicles available.

I explained that my reservation had already been made and that I had traveled to their location expecting the vehicle I reserved. Her response was simply that she was sorry, there was nothing she could do, and I could call corporate to file a complaint.

I contacted Hertz customer service, only to receive the same disappointing response and lack of assistance.

We then had to travel BACK to MCO Airport to speak with a manager in person. Unfortunately, that experience was no better.

The manager explained that their airport location holds vehicles for customers who book directly with them to ensure those customers receive their reserved vehicles. When I asked why the Marriott location did not follow the same procedure, she stated that she did not understand how that location handled its reservations.

How does that make any sense? Isn't this all the same company?

Why is one Hertz location protecting reservations while another is operating on a first-come, first-served basis, regardless of whether a customer has already reserved a vehicle?

This entire experience was unacceptable. We wasted valuable vacation time traveling back and forth between the airport and hotel, making multiple phone calls, and speaking with employees and management who offered absolutely no resolution.

What makes this situation even worse is that Hertz employees acknowledged that their reservation system was allowing bookings despite having no vehicles available.

Hertz needs to understand that customers make reservations for a reason. We depend on those reservations when making travel arrangements.

A reservation should mean something, and if Hertz cannot honor it, the company should notify customers in advance instead of allowing them to arrive and discover that no vehicles are available.

There was no effort to locate another vehicle, no alternative transportation offered, no meaningful assistance, and absolutely no accountability.

I would NOT recommend Hertz Rental Car based on this experience. Their reservation process is unreliable, their customer service was extremely disappointing, and their management offered no real solution.

Hertz, you need to do better! Customers deserve better than this

Car was not ready upon arrival. Waited 20 minutes to receive the vehicle.

Service was awesome and it was very easy to extended for another week. Barbra and her team doing an excellent job, keep up the good work.

Very easy pick up and return and we were given an up grade when we picked up.
