Be Careful of What You Wish For!
Wanted a Tesla, specifically, (we own one, love it, and wanted to be sure of superchargerr availability while traveling) so we rented from Hertz.We got a 4 year old Tesla with 98,000+ miles on it to drive to Texas from Nevada! WHAT? In a small town in rural Texas, the indicator showed very low psi on rear tire. Drove to a tire repair. The valve stem was leaking. They didn’t have the metal Tesla valve, but put in a rubber one. $26. Drove 109 scary mikes to El Paso, not knowing if the sensor was right or wrong. Had to exchange for a Kia Niro@ Hertz @the airport.Due to all of the stress, we left our gate and garage door opener in the Tesla! Trying to initially call the local Hertz to confirm a Tesla, calling customer service to get help with the tire problem, and then trying to call the office to report the left behind items, was a joke! None of them pick up the phone, or you get an automated message w/ no return call. I reported left items immediately online. Upon return to Las Vegas, received the bill emailed to me. Not transparent at all for additional charges. I gave up communicating with them…it’s useless. The return agent said it best…”Why would they rent you a car with that many miles on it, knowing you were driving that far?” I answered, “I don’t know, you’d have to ask them, that is, if you could get in touch with anyone.”
