Not honest...
I had went into the HeadMasters in Esher around 9am during opening hours. There was a stylist attending a client. I let her know that I would like my to lighten my hair that I had colored to darkly. She asked me if I had an appointment, and I said no. She told me I needed an appointment and that none were available. She then went to a back room and came out with a manager. I then said the same thing to the manager. The manager told me that they had no appointments because it was only the two of them there, and besides, she said, it is not possible to lighten your hair because you had colored it. I clarified with her and she assured me this was so. She then walked towards the front door saying this is the way out, while I walked towards the other direction to retrieve a beverage from a counter I had set it on. I then heard the stylist saying to the manager, "he's getting his beverage" (in a low voice) I turned around and the manager was standing by the fully opened front door while holding it and says, "this is the way out". As I walked out, I had the strangest feeling, was I just booted out of HeadMasters and why, what had I done wrong. Because of this, a short time later, I googled if it was possible to lighten colored hair? It was, with color remover. I then went onto the Esher HeadMasters website and saw that there were available appointments all day long and proceeded to book an appointment that was confirmed 15 minutes later. Both the stylist and manager had lied to me, telling me they were booked up all day, when they weren't. I couldn't figure out why they had done this, do they not like serving men or something I thought??? The manager also lied saying it wasn't possible to lighten colored hair to get me out of the store it seemed. I then called the corporate office and complained about what they had done. The office apologized, more or less and cancelled my appointment. I then went to the pharmacy just down the street and purchased hair dye remover. I followed the directions carefully and two hours later my dyed hair was lightened and perfect again for only 13 pounds, I saved so much money. I'm not sure why these ladies would not be honest from the get go, since they both had done this, it appears this particular HeadMaster's location has an integrity problem, on top of being rude by holding the front door wide open and booting me out. My advice, steer clear of them because who knows what else they would not be honest about.

I’ve been a loyal Headmasters customer for over seven years, and unfortunately my recent visit to the Windsor branch was one of the poorest experiences I’ve ever had at any salon.
I arrived no more than ten minutes late — still within Headmasters’ usual 15-minute grace period — yet from the moment I walked in, the receptionist seemed irritated, as though my slight delay had caused a major problem. I was then told that the stylist I was booked with would no longer be able to complete my full appointment because she had another client booked for colour. This made little sense given how minimal my delay was.
She applied my toner and then informed me that a colleague would take over for the blow-dry. The second stylist, however, never introduced herself, did not smile, did not offer refreshments, and never asked how I would like my blow-dry. The atmosphere felt tense and uncomfortable to the point where I asked to speak with a manager.
When I explained how unwelcome I felt, the manager’s response was dismissive rather than understanding. Instead of apologising or offering a solution, she simply said that no one else was available and insisted that the stylist “did want to do my hair,” which did not reflect the experience I was having.
My original stylist eventually returned — but only once my blow-dry was nearly finished, and unfortunately the final result was one of the worst blow-dries I’ve had at a Headmasters salon.
I left feeling disappointed, uncomfortable, and surprised at the lack of professionalism from a brand I’ve trusted for years. This was far below the standard I’ve consistently experienced at other Headmasters branches

What a let down …
I bought a gift voucher for my daughter for her birthday on 8/11.
She booked an appointment so her hair would look amazing for her bash.
This was cancelled so she made for the morning of her special day.
This was cancelled at very short notice.
Rather a let down!

Wimbledon’s headmaster hair salon staff…
Wimbledon’s headmaster hair salon staff are not all of them professional some of them very rude and unfriendly with customers and also some of the stylist really careless and never book appointment with a stylist if you don’t know about her .
I did this mistake and ruined my hair.
So please don’t do that mistake i did and now I’m disappointed with the result.

After calling to book an appointment and explaining that my usual salon had recently changed colour brands, which unfortunately caused an allergic reaction, I could not have received a better response than I did from Headmasters Beckenham. The manager, Patricia, was truly exceptional. She took the time to listen, understand my concerns, and immediately invited me in for a patch test 48 hours before my appointment.
From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with warmth and genuine care. The team were welcoming and put me at ease straightaway. Having been loyal to my previous salon for seven years, I was nervous about starting somewhere new, but Patricia’s empathy and professionalism made me feel completely comfortable. She thoughtfully booked me with a senior stylist (Jade) who she said would understand exactly what I needed and would achieve the results I wanted.
I returned today for my appointment and wow, wow, wow, I could not be happier. Jade, who looked after me, was wonderful. Friendly, professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and clearly an expert in her field. I felt relaxed throughout the entire experience, and the results are outstanding. My hair looks and feels better than it has in a very long time.
Thank you, Headmasters Beckenham. You have well and truly gained a customer for life. I cannot wait for my next appointment.
Now I need extensions
The people were nice, but I asked for a mini trim and I had 3-4 inches taken off. Poorly might I add. I don’t know how you mess something so simple up. And face framing on thin hair should be minimal to not make it look more thin. I look like I have a mullet now. My hair also has never looked so thin. I’ve been growing my hair out for a year and it’s been ruined. I’m getting extensions to fix this mess. I haven’t had a worse haircut since I was 12 years old. This is ridiculous. Do better. It’s like a bad mullet and now I need to spend a lot of money to try to attempt to. Correct it for a few months.

Always very professional and friendly and produce really good results.
Curly hair and Hijabi friendly
I used to see someone who was a curl specialist at the headmasters branch near my house and always had good results. Sadly, it closed down so I called this branch (Fitzrovia) and asked about curly hair and facilities for a hijabi. Barbara was very helpful and just so lovely with the booking. I had a full head balayage with a different stylist, which for full transparency, was not what I had hoped for. I messaged Barbara and I was booked in for two days later. Her technical knowledge of curly hair and colour is amazing. She was able to fix the issue and give me a colour and cut I loved. Her blow dry was also amazing!! She’s incredibly professional and doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable for how thick or curly your hair is with constant comments/sighs (I know the curly girlies get this!) If you have curly hair, it’s genuinely in safe hands with Barbara.
Didn’t get the look I wanted
I had a haircut and balayage at Headmasters Hammersmith on 6th November, and I’m really disappointed with the result.
The balayage looks nothing like what I asked for — the tone and placement are completely different, and there are chunky, uneven strands at the back that look harsh and patchy instead of soft and blended.
The haircut is also uneven, with rough ends and layers that don’t blend properly. I asked for a low-maintenance, natural look, but the overall result is messy and not what I expected from a professional salon.
I spent a lot of money and left feeling really unhappy with both the color and cut.
The service was very poor throughout. The stylist left the toner on my hair for over an hour at the uncomfortable with my hair wet while she was busy with multiple customers and then finished with a rushed, careless blow-dry. I left the salon feeling disappointed, uncomfortable, and frustrated.
after washing my hair at home, all the toner was gone, and I was left with a greenish and dull balayage.
For the price and reputation of this salon, I expected a much higher standard. Sadly, this was a very disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this branch based on my visit.

Bad customer service
Went in for a hair cut, the girl doing my hair was running back and forth trying to sort out a colour appointment she was doing in between so don’t think it’s the stylists fault at all as I have used her before.
Layers are messed up post haircut so called the salon and spoke to S who was abrupt, didn’t apologise for the ruined hair cut. They booked me in again for Sunday, will update once that’s done.
I used to use the Headmaster in Shepherds Bush but this is more convenient, won’t be using them again purely because of the customer service.

I booked my appointment 1 month ago and I went to the salon by bus from far when I reached they said your appointment is cancelled because your hair dresser is not here she is sick I was very disappointed and they was laying that we text you but I didn’t receive any text they rescheduled my appointment for 30 of October and today I went again and they said oh I’m sorry your hair dresser is not here yes text you yesterday that your appointment is cancelled I’m so frustrated because how a big name salon staff is that careless and unreliable because they are doing really bad with customers I never ever go there again they are rubbish when I ask I need to talk with your manager she said you can’t because she is not here please advise what I need to do they waste my time twice I’m so disappointed

Perm - Was NOT A PERM , but , A horendous mess
on 01.10.25, I had a long Perm done in the Hammersmith branch by Manager Chelsea. ( 1st time in around 20yrs ) I left the shop with my.hair soaking wet and full.of leave in conditioner. The hair looked a bit wavey, due to not having one done for yrs, I thought this must be how they leave it now. ( very strange and very different to any other perm I've ever had). My hair never curled! yes she used large curlers , but there the exact same size I've had used on me before. I realised some days later that my hair was never put under heat with the curlers and solution on , to help it set . Hence no curls, just frizz. once it had dried out. This is Not a Perm, Chelsea the manager should have realised she missed out an important step to make the Perm take. I have to now wear my hair up due to the mess of it. I am so upset about the state of my hair and would Never go back there again.

Fitzrovia Headmasters is a clean welcoming salon the staff are conscientious friendly and attentive. My colourist and stylist Francisca was and is professional informative and caring. I gave her an idea of what I wanted but asked Francisca to use her knowledge and skills to perfect the end result and I am so glad I did, the hair cut and colour has made me really happy I am so pleased the team are a credit to headmasters and will be returning again, Francisca is the best.

Great haircut, very friendly personal service has me coming back to Windsor every time I need a cut, even if its a 20 minute drive each way. My wife too . Anna always manages to squeeze us in for appointments. Amy and Dario always make the cuts enjoable for my wife & I respectively.
