Yeah great speedy booking for our holiday
The advisor gave us very good info about our chosen holiday and made it simple and easy to complete

We have booked with the Peterlee Branch of Hayes travel for numerous years and the service is excellent .
Staff are always helpful .
Jane always goes the extra mile , nothing is too much trouble dealing with all of us as ours is normally a group booking ♡

Went into the shop to book a cruise and Amelia the young lady that saw to us was lovely, very friendly but also very professional, she knew her stuff, and saw to all our needs also giving advice when needed.

Considered all my needs n accomodated me , especially with my husbands complex needs lovely service

Jane made the whole experience so easy ,she was very polite, explained everything very very knowledgeable and her advice was greatly appreciated, absolutely brilliant at her job ,I wouldn't go anywhere else.

When my wife and I walked into the shop we were greeted with a lovely smile from Amanda.
We were told to take a seat, we told Amanda our holiday destination and hotel.
She then talked us through the hotel reservation and room type, she was very chatty and had beautiful manners.
We booked our 2027 holiday to Sorento in Italy.
Booked the car park and travel insurance without any hassle.
The service she provided was first class.

I never use a travel agent in order to book my holidays. I successfully dealt directly with P&O for my last cruise and had no issues at all and wish I had done the same with my future P&O cruise. However, because there was a lot of people saying they always booked their cruises through travel agents and benefitted greatly by doing so. I called into a Hays branch and asked about discounts etc. I was told the price with them was exactly the same but people liked to use them because they dealt with tickets etc. I said that I managed myself with no problem the last time and the agent said that another benefit was you got up to 6 weeks before the cruise to pay the final balance. As I save on a weekly basis for holidays (and get daily interest on my saving) I thought this would indeed benefit me by giving me extra time to save the balance.

I went into hays travel yesterday to book my cruise in order to get the benefit of paying the balance 6 weeks before the date of my cruise. I even explained to the girl that was why I had come into the branch as I first sat down. I was in the branch for at least an hour only to achieve what I would have achieved in 10 minutes at home. When given the paper work I noticed the balance would need paying many more weeks before than 6. I queried this and was told that in order to get that I would need to pay by direct debit. So I went home quite angry that I had “wasted” so much time not to receive any benefit. On getting home I checked the date only to find I have to pay the balance 21 weeks before the cruise which is actually 4 weeks BEFORE I would have needed to pay P&O!

I will never be using a travel agent again. I feel I have been mislead, not by being given the wrong information, but by not being given the relevant criteria at all.

I am extremely disappointed with the whole process.

Update - following up from my review, Jane, the manager of the branch called me to discuss my disappointment. We agreed on a solution that I am quite happy with. Consequently I am amending my score to 5 stars as she dealt with my concerns well.

We have a good laugh with the staff excellent service as always

They know what they are doing and go out their way to make sure that it’s all 100% I like that

Loked at loads of hotels for us picked the best one for us very helpfull

Lovely young lady Amelia looked for the best deal for us ,very lovely and polite,it's always a pleasure going into hays travel in peterlee, holiday booked no problem.

The staff member was very friendly and knowledgeable she could not have been anymore help she went over and above to give us so much information regarding our holiday I wouldn't go anywhere else than Hays Travel to book my holidays

Amelia has helped us with queries recently and has been very helpful. Yesterday we wanted to book another holiday and Amelia was free. For an apprentice she is very knowledgeable and pleasant. Took all our details and found the exact holiday we required at the price we wanted. Amelia is going to be an asset to the company once her apprenticeship is up.
