Harrison’s - Kingswinford branch
We had our dogs and our cat registered with this practice for a couple of years. During that time, it became increasingly clear that the practice appears to have taken on more clients than it can reasonably manage, with insufficient staff including vets to meet demand.
On numerous occasions, we were left waiting in the waiting room for 45 minutes to an hour, and more than once over 1 hour 30 minutes past our appointment time. While occasional delays are understandable, this was a consistent issue.
We sadly lost our cat in September 2025. In the months leading up to this, I raised multiple concerns about her health during appointments, but I felt these concerns were not properly addressed. At one point, when I asked whether her asthma symptoms could be linked to other underlying issues, I was told by a vet, “I don’t really know.” At no stage were blood tests or further investigations suggested, despite my concerns about her age and declining condition.
When her symptoms worsened rapidly, we were told there would be a three-week wait for an appointment. We therefore took her to another veterinary practice, where she was diagnosed with kidney, heart and liver failure. As you can imagine, this was devastating news.
We contacted the practice the following day to remind them that she was registered there and that they had a duty of care. We were then offered a same-day appointment for an abdominal scan, which came at considerable cost. The timing made it difficult not to question whether financial factors were influencing decisions.
During that appointment, I asked why further testing had never previously been suggested when I had repeatedly raised concerns. I was met with the response: “Did you ask?” As a pet owner & not a qualified vet.. I rely on professional guidance. It is not realistic to expect clients to know which specific tests to request for symptoms that may be linked to kidney, liver, or heart failure.
I fully accept that our cat was elderly, and we were not expecting miracles. However, this experience along with other similar issues we encountered with our other pets ultimately led us to leave the practice. We were patient and understanding for a long time, but there comes a point where trust is lost. Our pets are family.
I also formally raised complaints, which have gone unanswered something I note appears to be a common theme in other reviews.
I am sorry but I would not recommend.
