I was spoken to very unprofessional by a manager called Glenn at this store I also gave them £300 for a diagnostics and my car was not even cleaned and my car has been handed back with the same issue but you’ve taken my money and spoken to me rude and abrupt on a recorded call. I have put this on Twitter for the public to hear so u can’t say this is a lie. And your apology will not be accepted as I have decided to do a counter claim against this Garage. Great Service.

People are often more motivated to review bad service than good, so I thought I should add some balance. In our case, Kevin, the salesman, was brilliant—worryingly knowledgeable (he must read Land Rover manuals in bed) and incredibly patient in helping us find the perfect used car. He was efficient and courteous—qualities that, after visiting other car dealers, felt like a rare find.

Poor Customer Service!

In September, I placed an order for a brand new Evoque (delivery for March 2025) with plenty of extras. I used the services of Carwow to obtain a discount. Having obtained a discount from Carwow, I went to JLR Barnet, met with Kevin Harewood and completed the paperwork. I also signed up to take out three car protection insurance policies and left a deposit of £2k.
On the 15th of October, I emailed Mr Harewood to inform him that I wished to cancel the order and requested a refund. 16th October, I received an email from Mr Harewood asking for my card details which I provided that same day. 20th October, I emailed Mr Harewood asking for an update as to when I could expect my refund. 30th October, still no response so sent a 2nd email. I received a reply from Mr Harewood saying, 'This has been processed'. I replied to Mr Harewood, again, asking for him to let me know when I could receive the refund. To date, no response. On the 1st November, I sent a formal complaint to JLR Barnet, attention of Chris Meeks, Head of Business, making him aware of how I was being treated by Mr Harewood. I received my refund on 7th November. To date, despite the fact I registered my complaint, no response from anyone at JLR Barnet! I will never use their services again.

Lack of competence from Grange Barnet…

Pure lack of skill from Grange Barnet Land Rover—this dealership’s incompetence is beyond belief. It's shocking they are still allowed to represent the JLR name.

We ordered THREE new cars after they offered to match a deal from another dealership. They were quick to take our payments, and our sales representative, Kevin Harwood was eager to tout his experience and why Grange Barnet was supposedly the best during the order process.

Fast forward SEVEN weeks: two of the cars arrived, and we had arranged to sell our previous vehicles based on their timeline. Then, we received a call from the sales manager, Chris Meeks, who casually informed us that they had miscalculated the pricing on ALL THREE CARS. Now, they expected us to pay an additional £2,000 per car if we wanted to proceed.
This caused significant inconvenience—we had already arranged to sell our old cars and made plans around their promised collection date. When I called to get clarification, Kevin weaselled his way out of all questions and insisted I speak to the manager, who never returned my calls.

To note, there are instances where JLR has a difference in pricing between ordering the car and it being delivered and this is usually unavoidable however this instance was purely due to INCOMPETANCE of staff.

How does it take SEVEN weeks for them to realise such a fundamental error? The level of disorganisation and lack of accountability is astounding. You could walk onto a playground and find a group of toddlers more qualified than this group, don’t use this dealership —it’s simply not worth the hassle!

Do not trust them. They do not keep their word.

If possible stay clear of this dealership.

These people are rude, unprofessional and they lie. They do not keep their word and they are incompetent.
Grange sold me a 3 year extended warranty under the pretence that it was a JLR warranty. However they actually sold me a warranty from Ramp which is owned by the same company that owns Grange.
They then did not provide me with any documentation on the warranty although I asked.
They then started the warranty a year too early.
Finally, they did not extend the warranty beyond 1 year.
It took almost 2 weeks for me to get this sort of resolved and I never received an apology.
I left scores of messages and they did not return my calls.
There is a horrible culture at this business.

Grange Barnet

Grange Barnet - My experience had been terrible, the person who wrote the comment before mine, is spot on, and by the way the leaking roof issue you had I had with my car after the 1st year of driving it, its a fault with the car nothing to do with the damage caused to your car, so its even. more shocking to read your experience.

There is no after sales care for the customer and given the car is nearly impossible to insure in London and has recalls and problems by there own admission , it's shocking that they have nothing in place to placate the client.

I to thought very carefully about writing a review, after 3 years of problems I felt others need to know what a stressful experience this is , most people spending this kind of money on a car, don't expect this shocking service.

terrible experience. if they put my situation right, I'm be only to happy to return back to this page and report back. doubt it though.

It almost feels that the staff are abusing there position of power, because my experience is that the customer is never right , it's is beyond inflammatory and no one can be expected to be reasonable with there solutions to your problems with a car that essentially , shouldn't have any problems under 20k miles.

And be warned when you car does need parts, the estimate for delivery on my parts was 3 days, its now been 3 months. My parts are apparently in the UK, waiting to be despatched , so I can't go anyone else to have them made up , and STILL they cannot confirm when they will be in.

So I am paying for car insurance, car tax, the lease on it and I have nothing to drive , I have been refused courtesy car as I always have been even when the car was being repaired under warrantee , so I have the cost of my car and the cost of secondary transport, so the financial stress on top of not being sure my car is in safe hands, its just to much.

Bunch of unprofesionals liars and arrogants.
Booked my car for timing belt replacement
2 days job did actually took 4 days
Picked up the car drove short trip home,
The next day drove to Cambridge on return EML And RP red triangle warnings on dash board
Phone barnet LR the person i spoke with told me >>
took the car to the shop 2 hours later they told me nothing they have done wrong was a EGR V problem.
Confused as the car was in good shape i called them AGAIN and asked the to look at the car and told them they have damaged my car they threatened me by telling
me they gonna charge me.
Had my car diagnosed elsewhere (smoke test) obviosly i didn’t trust to do it at LR , they told me there is a air leak on inlet manifold and asked me if anyone had do e any work on the car !
Explained what i had done to the car they told me that whoever replaced your rear belt
has put weight / leaned on the engine and had cracked the manifold.
they cost me too much money for the problem they have created and won’t accept!

This review is very overdue

This review is very overdue! However, I felt that it was necessary to write this as the service i had received from the Sales Manager, Taran was amazing! My car failed its MOT, just before its 3rd birthday... I was totally shocked! Especially as it all my years of owning older other brand cars, I hadn't experienced an MOT failure and the failure was due to an issue out of my control and should have been covered under warranty. I was told it wasn't and went to Land Rover directly. They agreed and with the help of Taran the issue was resolved! Outstanding service from him; not so good service from the service team at that time. I would return simply from knowing that customers are listened to, even if it means finding another means... thankfully Taran and the team were accommodating and helpful. I'd say if an issue isn't resolved rather than write a negative review, follow this up, Managers need to hear about customer experiences too to ensure they can improve service delivery.

Very bad customer service at sales…

Very bad customer service at sales team. The don’t care of your enquiries on time and sometimes not genuinely honest. I had a very bad experience in buying a land rover in this retailer and I cancelled my order after having 6 month deposit on the new car. Never come back to this retailer and never suggest anyone.

Absolute appalling service

Absolute appalling service. They are not helpful at all... they don’t get back to you on a vehicle enquiry and when you call them, they just turn around and say it’s SOLD.

They don’t seem to care or go the extra mile.
Do not use them or buy any car from them, you will spend so much money for a bad service.

Appalling service from Grange Barnet

Appalling service from Grange Barnet. Tried to get through to them by phone after a service/MOT and took me 20 times of calling before they answered only to be told that I had called sales not service. Then I was unleashed with how they are working over and above their hours and I need to consider this. They basically unleashed their issues on to their customer! Previously when I had visited they handed me the keys to someone else’s vehicle that they had left by the door after failing to start my service on time and then advising they had not even started it when it was due to be finished! Plus they are happy to stand and argue with customers! I am on a service plan with them but considering moving away from this to try and go elsewhere As the customer service is just not good enough for a luxury brand like Range Rover.

DON'T GO TO GRANGE BARNET , WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE EVER

Considering that they represent a Luxury Brand , Grange Land Rover Barnet are consistently the worst customer experience you could possibly Encounter - You only need to sit in the showroom for a few minutes and you will witness a chaotic atmosphere where it feels like no one is in charge or setting standards as staff wander around chatting to each other only to occasional leave their glass office to offer a hollow apology to a never ending line of unhappy customers .
Sadly for me they are the closest service centre to where I live and because I have a Range rover I am forced at times because of my warranty to use them , I work in a service industry & therefore understand that at times there are issues that are out of everyone's control but at Grange Barnet they have made an art form out of making what ever problem you have worse .
Here as a warning are my last 3 encounters with this terrible dealer

2 years ago - following an add blue alert on my car i called the dealership and was told pop in as its a while you wait service - I walked in no one asked me if i needed help went to the service desk got ignored asked for help got told to wait , no one came so i left and made written complaint to them & they sent a tech to my house to put the add blue in the car .

1- year ago I took my car to them for its regular service and they tried to get me to pay for all sorts of expensive break and tyre issues saying they were "concerned for my safety " I declined and said i would get that work done elsewhere cheaper & then when I returned to my car money (pound coins) had been stolen from it !!!! I asked to see the service manager as this was a serious issue and not only did he not come and talk to me but they offered me £6 in an envelope completely missing the point of how serious the matter was - I left vowing to never return - I went to a local garage and the brakes/tyres were worn but not dangerous .

2 weeks ago - My car went into safety mode and was diagnosed by the call out engineer as an oil pressure issue - I tried to use a local small top class garage but they informed me that specialist tooling was required and so they booked me back into Grange Barnet - They had my car 2 weeks and say they replaced the oil pressure sensor and the turbo under warranty - at no time was i offered a courtesy car & had to chase them every time for updates .

Today - my car was returned to me after 2 weeks with paperwork stating all work completed ,tested , and fault codes cleared and within 30mins the car broke down , wont start and has the same fault code as 2 weeks ago !!!
I phoned grange barnet and 2 hours later their advice was "call Range Rover recovery " I said to the service guy who called me " you don't even sound surprised" ? - he replied "nothing surprises me"

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T GO TO GRANGE BARNET !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grange Barnet Appalling Customer Service

I went into Grange Barnet as they had offers showing on their website that I was interested in...... once I was in the store they had none of the cars available that were being advertised that suited that offer and placed an order for a new car. I was told once the deposit was paid I would be given an eta for the vehicle the following day.... I was not given this for another three weeks after chasing it nearly every day. On top of that after I paid my deposit, they advertised further cars with the original offer that I was interested in on their website.... I called about them and they said the cars were no longer available. Swindon manager was really helpful, getting the Barnet manager to call ( this is after I sent several emails and left calls myself for nearly four weeks). After a very long conversation with the branch manager he could not answer any of the subjects we went through or give any explaination for the poor service and lack of communication. I find it unacceptable for the manager to take over 9 days to call back any customer especially an existing customer who has paid a deposit. I did not expect such a large brand as Range Rover to have such poor standards especially with the response from the manager. I would not expect a branch manager to sets those standards not giving and clear answer or resolution to the situation.
