Received really great advice from Tom about a wide range of kit we needed for my son's first Duke of Edinburgh expedition. He was patient, honest and knowledgeable. No hard sell, just great advice that was much appreciated.

Tom was absolutely superb. An extremely knowledgeable chap that was straight to the point and answered all of my questions about a new pair of hiking boots. Thanks mate!

We were served by Daniel today 6/6/2026 we bought two pairs of walking shoes, Daniel certainly knew how to interact with customers

Would like to give you a heads up that you have a couple of outstanding ppl working in your Metrocentre shop ...Daniel Ns Louis are exceptional kind helpful patient know their stuff there always happy to greet you ,we go in the shop because of this atmosphere they create ,we have actually made a bit of a rapport. We were looking for a specific pair of walking shoes and served by both Dan and Josh. Both were extremely helpful and knowledgeable, serving us in an efficient friendly manner.

Lewie was incredibly helpful as he answered all my questions with the best advice, including an amazingly smart way to tie my shoes. I have a world challenge expedition in July and have appreciated all the help and advice and kit that has made me very prepared for this trip from Go OutDoors. I’ve never had such great customer service in my life and this shop will continue to have me as a client when I continue with my other expeditions.

A young lad called Josh helped me replace my worn pair of merrells walking boots today. He went above and beyond explaining pros and cons of each pair he showed me.

Had he not been there I probably would have bought a pair that really wouldn’t have suited my requirements. It’s quite refreshing to have such kind knowledgable people to help.

I have to say I use the store an awful lot and I have never had a bad experience! There are other stores closer however, I would rather go the distance for a better customer service.

All the staff at the Metrocentre store are an asset to the company.

The store in the Metrocentre Gateshead. Dan, the assistant who served me was incredibly helpful. The shoes I was looking at weren’t in in my size & he explained to me why, he also. Went the extra mile & suggested other places I could try which might have them. Very helpful, friendly & polite. An asset to the store.

Visited today and was impressed by the helpful staff Tom was especially helpful going in the back to check my size and colour selection Nicole served me at the till and was friendly a pleasure.

Fantastic service and really knowledgeable staff in the hiking boots section. Dan and Josh gave genuine recommendations, took the time to help properly, and there was absolutely no hard sell — just honest advice and great customer service. Really appreciated the help, thanks both!

Excellent customer service. Tom spent about 20 minutes with us helping us with choosing equipment for my daughter's Duke Of Edinburgh expedition. Patient and knowledgeable.

Both shop and website are packed with outdoor gear, spoilt for choice and so many deals
