purchased a car from this dealer, which was advertised as "HPI clear." However, upon further investigation, I discovered the car had a Category X history (stolen/recovered) and had once been sold at a salvage auction—none of which was disclosed at the time of purchase. Had I known this, I would never have bought the car.
Fortunately, the car itself has no major damage affecting its safety or usability, but the undisclosed history has significantly impacted its market value. I’ve only received offers of around 40% of what I originally paid due to this record. When I contacted the dealer about the issue, the best resolution they offered was to buy the car back at a 25% discount.
They maintain they’ve done nothing illegal, but I ask: Is this moral? I chose to buy from a dealer for the peace of mind and trust associated with purchasing from a business, but this experience has proven otherwise.
In addition to the Category X history, there were several discrepancies in the information provided about the car, which I only discovered after travelling 5 hours to purchase it. The dealer stated the car had two previous owners, but I later discovered it actually had three. They also advertised the car as having keyless entry, which it does not, and failed to disclose that it came with only one key. The key fob provided was also faulty, with its battery draining every two weeks. While they claimed the car had been serviced, there was no service history logged in the dashboard. When I raised this, they sent me a receipt—created by them—stating the car had its oil and fluids changed and its brakes checked.
The market is full of trustworthy dealers and quality cars. Don’t rush into a decision—take the time to find the right one. Look elsewhere.
UPDATE
12/01 - Believe it or not, they attempted to flag my comment as defamatory, but Trustpilot rightfully rejected it.
13/01 - Thank you for your response. While your reply sounds reassuring, it does not align with my actual experience. I contacted your team immediately after discovering the car’s history, including its Category X classification (stolen/recovered) and previous sale at a salvage auction. At that time, I provided you with proof of these findings, including a report confirming the car’s “stolen/repaired” status and evidence of its sale at a salvage auction. Your response was that you had done nothing illegal and were not concerned about legal action. The only resolution you offered was to buy the car back with a £4,000 discount, which I found unacceptable.
Your claim of transparency is questionable, as there were multiple discrepancies in the listing beyond the undisclosed history. These include the misrepresentation of ownership (advertised as two previous owners but actually had three), the lack of keyless entry despite it being advertised, and the omission that the car came with only one faulty key fob, which requires a battery replacement every two weeks. Additionally, your claim that the car had been serviced was unsubstantiated, as there was no logged service history.
I stand by my review and hope it serves to inform potential buyers. Transparency is about actions, not words, and my experience with your dealership falls far short of the integrity you claim to uphold.
13/01 - Since posting this review, the dealer has responded by shifting the blame onto HPI, attempting to avoid responsibility for the discrepancies I raised. Rather than addressing the issue or taking accountability, they are now deflecting responsibility, claiming that HPI is to blame for the incomplete vehicle history check. This attempt to avoid resolving the situation only further highlights their lack of transparency and willingness to take responsibility for the misrepresentation of the vehicle.

Great deals and helpful staff
Just bought a 2018 Toyota aygo, it’s in brilliant condition and cheaper than anywhere else I’ve looked, the garage even knocked £100 off the price and did a service on the car prior to the purchase. Everyone is really nice, helpful and knowledgeable.

Good car, fair price, friendly and efficient
Bought a 10 year old Citroën from Good Motors in January 24. Very pleased with the car, it was as described and fairly priced.
Professional dealings with the salesman, car delivered when stated and without issue.
There was a slight issue with some interior valeting which was remedied when pointed out.
I don't live local but would buy again from the garage

A cautionary tale
UPDATE:
19/12
I have now had the full refund from Good Motors after a phone call from them stating they have finally discovered the issue.
They have also offered a gesture of good will for the inconvenience caused. I appreciate the acknowledgement of their errors and wanting to make it right.
‐--------------------------------------------------
I traveled 70 miles to buy a Ford Ka (NL18 JZJ) from Good Motors for
£6,111. After a test drive, everything seemed okay.
On the way home, the car began smoking from the engine - it turns out the engine coolant was empty. We then filled it with 2 litres of coolant so we could make it home. However, by morning, the coolant was gone, making the car broken and unroadworthy. I paid £285 to have it towed back to the dealer the next day for a refund under warranty. I clearly stated this in an email, verbally with 3 separate people on the telephone and now in a recorded delivery letter.
Good Motors has so far responded with excuses like;
"there's nothing wrong with it”,
"we're short-staffed, we’ll call you back”,
“the car is being checked over at the garage to see if there is a fault” (which the fact it had to be towed back should be clue enough),
“we’ve fixed it and you are good to collect it”.
It seems to me they are using diversion tactics and obfuscation to delay the inevitable legal right I have under the consumer rights act 2015. This has been a hugely stressful time for me and left me severely out of pocket in additional expenses and without the funds to buy a working car.
I hope this review helps others make a more informed decision about the situation they could find themselves in if something goes wrong.
A picture on the wall of this garage said “If we don’t look after the customer, someone else will”. This painful irony is not lost on me.

I bought a Honda Jazz from good motors…
I bought a Honda Jazz from good motors on 24/06/2024.The car passed all the tests done by them
I gave my car for MOT after 6 months when it has done only 1000 miles after the buy.
The car failed the MOT and they found all 4 break discs and pads were 100% worn out.
Asked few garages and Honda dealer they said Good motors have sold a defective car and the brake disc no way can worn out by doing 1000 miles.
Rang the dealer and he refused to apologise and was not compensated. The sales man said if you buy a car from them I should expect these kind of repairs .
This costed me more than 1000 pounds towards the repair costs.
Beware of the dealer

First Expieriences of Good Motors
Kept in touch with Good Motors during the last week in November 2024 with a certain car i was interested in. Were very friendly and understanding. Confirmed last Friday, I was coming on sunday to look at car. put small deposit down with full refund if not interested.
Artur Winiarski saw me on Sunday and everyone there was understanding to my needs. They listened to whatever i had to say. Didn't put any pressure on me and after i agreed to buy the car, accidently gave slightly to much cash without realising and Artur( after counting it on his side and realising,) gave it back to me.
That says it all about how important customer service and honesty is to Good Motors.
I have only had the car for just over 3 days now, but bh very happy!
From my Experiences up till now, would definitely recommend Good Motors.

Avoid Good Motors Ltd – A Terrible Experience with Zero Accountability
UPDATED - I regret ever buying a car from Good Motors Ltd. My experience with this so-called dealership has been nothing short of a nightmare. I purchased a Tesla Model 3 on 28 October 2024, and within days, significant faults came to light, including major suspension issues, confirmed by Tesla's service centre. These faults rendered the car unsafe and unfit for purpose.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Good Motors Ltd is legally obligated to ensure the vehicle they sell is of satisfactory quality and fit for use. Instead, they deflected all responsibility, attempting to push me toward claiming repairs on a third-party warranty that was irrelevant and inadequate for the issues. This is despite the fact that the faults clearly existed at the time of sale.
When I raised the matter, Good Motors Ltd:
Refused to acknowledge their legal obligations,
Dismissed my concerns, claiming the faults were "wear and tear" despite expert confirmation to the contrary,
Offered no meaningful resolution beyond paying for the diagnosis—while leaving me with a faulty, unsafe car.
Their complete lack of accountability and dismissive attitude shows a disregard for customers' rights and safety. They sell faulty vehicles and hide behind excuses rather than taking responsibility.
I am now escalating this matter through Trading Standards, the Motor Ombudsman, and the Small Claims Court to recover my costs and resolve the issue, which should never have been necessary.
I strongly urge anyone considering buying a car from Good Motors Ltd to think twice. This dealership has shown itself to be unreliable, untrustworthy, and unwilling to stand by the quality of the vehicles they sell. Protect yourself and take your business elsewhere.
---UPDATE BELOW---
Despite their public display of wanting to be helpful and resolve this issue, Good Motors Ltd has shown no genuine willingness to address the serious faults with the car I purchased. Their responses to my review suggest they are committed to resolving problems, but their private communications have been consistently unhelpful, deflective, and dismissive of their legal obligations under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
I purchased a Tesla Model 3 on 29 October 2024, and significant faults were identified within days, including serious suspension issues confirmed by Tesla. These faults are clearly pre-existing, yet Good Motors Ltd has refused to pay for the necessary repairs or provide any meaningful resolution. Instead, they have repeatedly tried to pass the issue onto a warranty provider, which is irrelevant as the faults existed prior to sale and are entirely their responsibility as the seller.
As a result of their refusal to act, I have no choice but to formally reject the car and pursue a full refund through legal channels. I will also be reporting Good Motors Ltd to Trading Standards for failing to comply with the Consumer Rights Act.
Their public claims of wanting to help are entirely at odds with their private behaviour. This dealership has consistently avoided accountability and failed to meet the standards of customer care and legal compliance one would expect. I would strongly advise potential customers to avoid this dealership unless they are prepared for similar issues and an unwillingness to resolve them.
