GoEco is an expensive middle man
GoEco is an expensive middle man. GoEco themselves add very little to the experience, besides getting you in contact with the local partner.
I volunteered in a primary school in San Jose Costa Rica. The local partner there was Maximo Nivel. They offered great service and have made my experience memorable. But that was their doing, not GoEco’s. I would recommend anyone who is interested in volunteering to go directly to the local partners and don’t know pay a premium to uninvolved middle men.

To clarify further: GoEco steps in when local organizations lack the global reach to recruit and support volunteers. With close to 20 years of experience, we also help ensure that volunteers are joining vetted organizations, and that those organizations are receiving well-prepared, vetted volunteers.
Regarding costs, this is very important for us to address. We’ve sent you a personal email with detailed information about your trip expenses, you always have an open line to us. It's important for us that you know the nature of our partnership with our San José team at Maximo is structured to ensure that all program fees match GoEco’s, there’s no added premium for booking through us. You have the manager's email in the main San Jose Maximo office to verify all details in the email and pricing.

A Trip Absolutely Worth Taking
I met a bunch of really great people! The volunteer work was engaging and really rewarding. We were given plenty of different tasks throughout the 2 weeks I was there. It wasn't all work, we had downtime too; it was nice to go to the beach or to get a coffee or to travel somewhere new. GoEco did a great job of keeping me updated, their instructions were useful and complete, etc. I really can't fault the experience!

Thorough, supportive and reliable company
I recently went on the Marine and Turtle Conservation programme in the Maldives and had the time of my life! GoEco looked after me really, really well through the whole process, from the initial booking onwards, with great pre-, peri- and post-trip support. The personal portal on the GoEco website was really helpful for my planning too and I appreciated how thorough their system and processes were.

Je viens de revenir d’un séjour au Costa Rica au Slot Rescue Center.
On m’a pris en charge directement à l’aéroport ( identification claire) pour m’apporter directement au refuge .
Dès le lendemain, mon expérience de travail a débuté.
À cet endroit, il y a 4 équipes de travail.
Pour ma part, je fut placé avec la vétérinaire team, dûe à mon expérience de volontariat passé et mon expérience médicale aussi. C’est un travail, ce n’est pas un tout inclus 5 étoiles.
Nous avons une journée de congé par semaine avec la possibilité de faire des activités organisées.
La nourriture est bonne mais ce n’est pas un buffet, tout le monde mange à sa faim, et si ça ne vous convient pas, il y a une épicerie à quelques minutes de marche . Les journées commencent tôt et peuvent finir plus tard si il y a des besoins.
Les gens sont très respectueux et tout le monde travaille en équipe.
Pour les périodes de pause, il y’a une piscine sur le site et des activités en soirée durant la semaine.
Le ménage est fait, les lits changés au semaine et l’endroit est très bien entretenu et propre.
Les propriétaires sont présentes et très soucieuses de notre confort.
Je les remercie.

This experience was wonderful
This experience was wonderful from my point of view. I think that such experiences help us in terms of awareness. They develop awareness and introduce you to people from around the world, friends from everywhere. And because of the animals, when you are with them you can understand their looks and become attached to these animals because you tried to help them and provide everything for them. It was a fantastic experience for me. I will repeat it and I will never forget such an experience in my life.

GoEco and Panthera
Our experience volunteering at Panthera was fantastic and the support we received from GoEco enabling us to be well prepared for our volunteering was equally excellent
It was great to see the care taken at the Cat Sanctuary and the impact on conservation and welfare of the cats and it was great to help this through all of the tasks we were involved in
It was also great working with the other volunteers and meeting new people and having some fun along the way and feeling part of the Panthera team along with their truly dedicated team

Great experience!
Had a great experience at the puma sanctuary working with the other volunteers surrounded by beautiful animals and so much greenery. Goeco was thorough with the application, interview, and follow through. They were always responsive with my inquiries until the very end. Agus, who was my main point of contact, always checked in to make sure things were going smoothly. I wouldn’t hesitate to do it all over again.

This company works with you. I was supposed to go to Costa Rica last year but I broke my leg. They helped me arranged to go the next year with no problems. I just got back home a few days ago and I already want to go back.

My second experience doing Volunteering…
My second experience doing Volunteering trip at Cango wildlife ranch was fantastic I had no words to describe how great it was to be back to the ranch.
The high light of my trip this time would have to be having the opportunity to do the internship programme for one week and assisting with the behind the scenes tasks.
