Glasgow is the worst city in the UK.
Glasgow is the worst city in the UK.
Glasgow is the most drug-ridden city in Britain, being peopled by hoardes of drug addicts and alcoholics. Drug addicts and dealers cab be seen on the streets of Glasgow day and night. It is the most violent city in Britain. There are so many Glaswegians walking around with the 'Glasgow smile' scars on their faces. Domestic violence is part of the culture here.
Eyesore tenements still remain, packed with drug addicts and alcoholics.
Unemployment is through the roof. Most Glaswegians are on state benefits.
The city is also packed with low life Glasgow university students, loafing about all day, doing nowt. Many of these are seen taking drugs, getting drunk and shop lifting.
Come the night-time very street corner is packed with hoes. Many of these are University of Glasgow students.
Ugly sectarianism is still rife. Glaswegians are dinosaurs.
Glaswegians are also racist, being anti-English, even though their state benefits they rely on are paid for the most part by taxpayers in England.
Glaswegians wonder why they're all dropping like flies due to heart attacks. No great mystery when they're all taking illegal substances, drinking like fish and everything they eat is coated in gross batter!
Glasgow is a hideous place, and best avoided, unless you are into drugs, alcohol, violence and prostitution!
I have been in my house in Glasgow for…
I have been in my house in Glasgow for 21 years I live on my on I have mental health and disabilities I was assaulted by a relatively new neighbour ( also a GHA tenant) I have had the police out regarding 2 nasty neighbours, i just want to get on with my life, the police have all said to put CCTV cameras up, Victim support has offered to get me them and get a professional company to install them but my housing officer hates me and has refused constantly C.A.B has stepped in my GP has stepped in half of the neighbours never asked for permission and got their CCTV cameras up, I think this is unjust and I am getting told a lot of rubbish saying I had a camera on a tripod at my window LIES, I overdosed last week as I do not want to live anymore, this is the GLASGOW housing, in Alexander Parade.
Be aware of the aggression and confrontational nature.
Be aware of the large red headed carpet fitter, he is very aggressive, threatening and confrontational. Do not let this disgusting individual into your home, demand another carpet fitter who respects peoples homes as their safe spaces.
Glasgow's Miles Better? Not for disabled visitors!
Thank you for the parking fine you gave us as my wife's blue card had expired!
We live in Fife and Fife Council have big backlogs on re-issuing cards. I appealed the fine and supplied evidence including the information from Fife Council stating that, due to the delay, card expiry was increased by 3 months within Fife region.
Glasgow Council did not respond within their stated timescale of 20 days, but took 7 weeks (35 working days) to respond, stating "I note your comments that there is a delay with the issue of the badges with Fife Council, however, I am unable to consider this matter further as the expired badges have only been extended for 3 months while vehicles are parked within the Fife Council area."
I remember the old tag line that "Glasgow's Miles Better" but that now seems to apply at ignoring disabled visitors needs and comfort!
I would really enjoy reading a reply…
I would really enjoy reading a reply which would, (or even could), explain how it is possible for a 'Gift card' to help us through these tough times can be used in a M&S but not in a HOME BARGAINS !!! SERIOUSLY ???
Someone needs a check-up from the NECK UP in the administrative department of the 'Council'.....
Glasgow City Council should really get…
Glasgow City Council should really get out the office.and do a walk round our streets.they are disgusting and in a shocking state. Strathclyde Street Glasgow is a tipping ground for old scrap cars and vans taxis and trucks.no pavement access at all from dalmarnock Road all the way through due to pavement being totally blocked any tourists that try to get onto clyde walk way have no chance. So embarrassing for Glasgow. Someone needs to get out there and do a bit to keep Glasgow tidy and healthy. No more covid excuses. Its not rocket science just open your eyes our country is one big tip. The Council talks about the planet and to save it. Great words. Its Action We Need. I could do a better job myself. Very very sad state our Glasgow is becoming
the glasgow city council website and…
the glasgow city council website and the team work in it is as useless and they come, given out wrong information and links to follow, if you ask for a taxi licence they will copy paste the link for taxi driving licence, what a mess, no info where to submit and no clear indication, it need a complete overhauling including the team inside, good for nothing.
Useless
Glasgow City Council is run by Greedy Morons who
are quite happy to Bleed Working People Dry, they are

Paying Council Tax
My dealings with Glasgow City Council were not stream-lined or handled well in any way.
Firstly I was asked to pay my council tax, which was fine but their calculations were off, so we appealed. They then sent an update to tell us that a further fine had been added to our account and we had a week to pay. I then spoke with someone online who told me that the appeals process generally takes 2 weeks to go through. I am glad to see that the council are exempt from their own time induced fees.
The icing on the cake was definitely trying to speak to a person. The phone call goes through every piece of information that you MIGHT want to hear before it finally asks you what you would like to hear. You then need to select an option BUT BE CAREFUL WEARY TRAVELER! If you chose the wrong option you will be told to go online then promptly hung up on. Exploring this labyrinth of options is not for the weary hearted and SHOULD be avoided if at all possible by going on their website.
If you make it to their website and you find the section through which you can discuss council taxes it is very likely you may not know you are in the correct place. If you search web chat on their quick search system it takes you to the wrong place. If you put webchat in the URL you go to the privacy agreement about the illusive webchat.
The trick is to refresh the council page for about half an hour before the little yellow icon appears at the bottom right. Once again you are faced with a menu system that will take the last shred of your energy to complete. Again this system is pitted with dead-end and incomplete options that bring you back to the start. One particular message which i enjoyed was being told that agents only work from 9 to 4:30 at 2...
My saga ended when i finally got to an agent through this system after an hour's queue and he was the man of the hour. Adam sorted us right out. He explained the system that we were entangled in and explained what we were to do. Adam was our light in the dark and thanks to him we only got one late fee.
Had I not known anything about computers and how to use the internet i would surely have wracked up quite the fine. The system is hard to use, patched together and is incredibly hard to understand. The terminology is unclear surrounding E-Citizens, what constitutes proof for exemption, and the phone service is abysmal. The hypocrisy that the council operates under, surrounding their lax nature responding to information and their heavy handedness when dealing with late payments is despicable.
But we love Adam.
Collins Roofing and Solar Solutions
This is the second time I used Collins Roofing and Solar Solutions as I thought there was a fault in my Solar Panel Inverter. Tommy came out the same day and quickly identified the problem: an electrician fitting a cabinet in my bathroom had not switched my Solar Panel connection back on.Tommy got it working within minutes and stayed to check it was working properly. He was not officially on duty and refused to take a payment. I cannot praise this firm highly enough for excellent service and their pleasant and friendly service.
My mother passed away no help
Had real issues with these guys when My mother passed away, no records and no contact to proceed with dealing with the death. Only comunication was the ability to pay. This is not a surprise all other goverment agancy where fantastic, these guys where as bad as hermes to deal with.
Glasgow is being ruined by Glasgow City Council
Once again, Glasgow City Council excells in the collection of revenue and intelligence from its citizens but fails miserably to treat them as human beings.
Examples:
1. Glasgow City Council employed a company formed by ex-Israeli intelligence soldiers to provide and implement a system of audio and video surveillance that permanently watches and listens to Glasgow people and visitors to the city.
2. Glasgow City Council's lead councillor doesn't bother replying to letters about the above matter or anything else. Apparently to dare criticise anything about the racist, apartheid state of Israel attracts the accusation of being anti-semetic from those members of the council who are content to simply repeat Israeli propaganda.
3. Glasgow City Council continues to treat ordinary people as sources of revenue, regardless of their income status. Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum was one of our family's favourite places to visit. Parking was reasonable and you could spend an afternoon there (4 hours) for only a £1 parking fee. Glasgow City Council raised this £1 fee to £6.40 in June 2018. More if you want to stay longer. There is virtually nowhere you can park your car in Glasgow without having to pay money to the council.
4. Glasgow City Council do little to nothing to solve nuisance noise issues. We went through hell with some Chinese student neighbours in the declining west end of the city and the council did absolutely nothing, but were more concerned about 'protecting the confidentiality' of these neighbours rather than addressing the insomnia, stress and suffering we had to put up with as British citizens. They'd bring shopping trollies back from Morrisons and dump them in the entranceway. After a year of it we had to move out as our health had declined to the point of intolerance. The Chinese neighbours remained without a care, continuing to jump about, stamp their feet, drop things, and bounce a football on their laminate floor throughout the day and into the middle of the night.
5. If you've lived in Glasgow long enough to remember how Sauchiehall Street and other parts of the city looked before Glasgow City Council ruined it, you might remember miles of sandstone tenements. These were demolished when they could have been refurbished because allegedly City councillors were taking back-handers from construction companies and others to look the other way. In the meantime, Sauchiehall Street looks like Calcutta. It's an absolute pigsty of cheap shopfronts, ruined buildings and noise pollution.
Congratulations Glasgow City Council councillors and other employees. What a grand achievement of public service.
