Our lead mover didn't show up, and by the time they found us a replacement, it was 2 hours past the service window. Because we had a POD sitting on the street in NYC, we only had a short timeframe to get it unloaded. We had to frantically hire another company while I was on hold with Bellhop trying to get them to resolve the issue. I requested a refund as we didn't get the service we paid for, and all they could offer me was a 10% discount. We're disputing it with our credit card company. I would stay away from this company if you're in a pinch and need a team to actually show up.

The crew was amazing, friendly and quick. They had to carry everything up 6 flights of stairs and did it quickly with ease and never once complained. Then they assembled some of the furniture for me saving us so much time! This was the BEST moving experience I've ever had! Highly recommend!!!

Two weeks ago I hired Bellhop movers to come help me unload a van of furniture at my new apartment at 11 AM on Sat. Feb. 3. About 70 minutes before the team assigned to me was supposed to arrive, Bellhop contacted me saying they were going to be 3 hrs late because the morning job was bigger than expected. I asked for Bellhop to find a different team for me and they said they would try. They could not find one, so I was forced to accept the 2 pm reschedule. I accepted under the condition that 2 pm was guaranteed and if anything changes I would be notified immediately. I was able to get the driver of the van transporting my furniture from GA to hold in NJ since NYC parking is very difficult. 2 PM comes, the van transporting my furniture arrives, I'm outside, and Bellhop is nowhere. I call again and find out that now my reservation has been delayed again and the movers confirmed they will be there at 4pm. No one at Bellhop told me this until it was too late for me to do anything. Ultimarely a Bellhop team never came.
The story that I was told 3 times was that team assigned to me could not come because there morning job that was supposed to be 2-3 hrs turned to 6 and then to 8 hrs. Eventually another agent I can't remember the name of says there had been an emergency of some kind. I'm not sure what to believe anymore. It's very hard to believe that a company of this size that operates in multiple cities has no contingency plan on when a job goes over time and just makes the other job suffer and not get completed at all. It's also hard to believe that there was absolutely no one else Bellhop could find and send to help with a job that would have taken less than an hour with two people. I wasted a whole day speaking with Bellhop customer service and waiting for the team I was promised to show up. First, I was told 2pm, then 4 pm, and then 5pm only to have no one come and then I had to go call Bellhop again to learn that they pushed it back yet again. Bellhop completely wasted my time and clearly did not care that they had left me stranded with furniture. I regret that I didn't fire them immediately. I had good experiences with Bellhop in the past, but this was experience was completely unacceptable. I ultimately called Bellhop to cancel and request a full refund since Bellhop never provided me with mover service and it was now dark. I was offered a 90% discount if I rescheduled for Sunday. I declined and reiterated all my belongings are here now, I can't wait around overnight. I also asked to speak with a supervisor but was told they were busy with someone else and that the supervisor could call me back in 24-48 hrs. I reiterated that I am canceling my reservation and that I want a full refund since Bellhop never provided me with movers. I do not plan to use Bellhop again after this ordeal. Very disappointed and frustrated by the poor communication and lack of problem solving.

Be sure that your booking agent details exactly what is being moved (inventory) and provides you with a summary of what services are being provided (e.g. number of movers, truck size, if driver is provided, tools brought).

In addition to an incredible moving-day disaster in which Bellhop-hired movers showed up with no truck, no supplies and short 1 mover for an NYC to Nashville pack and move, Bellhop lost a priceless family heirloom while moving me from NYC to Nashville, May 25-27. There was no inventory list for any of the moving teams (even though I did a thorough video inventory chat with Jesse), so there is no record of the piece. I'm posting a photo here in the event (praying) SOMEONE received this by accident. It's a large metal sign that was my Grandfather's auctioneering sign. It is white with black font, and it says:

It is a priceless family heirloom. I'm devastated that out of everything, this is missing and hasn't been recovered. Anna at Bellhop said she would personally call "every customer" that was on the truck's route after my stop. Apparently just 1 customer was called, in Florida. I am distraught. If anyone has the piece, please reach out to me or Bellhop.
Beware these are not Bellhop employees that move you - Bellhop is a moving broker. They hired 1 company to pack/physically move (Dumbo Movers in NY), 1 company as the truck (Queens of Deals in NY), 1 company to unpack on the delivery (random 3 guys in Nashville, didn't know each other, 1 guy didn't show up). I was assured everyone would be a 100% Bellhop employee. Please know that is not the case, these teams are not coordinated, and the process is unorganized and chaotic. The packing team in NY did not speak English and did not know I did not have my own truck (!!) and did not know the final destination of the move (long haul trip). Several of my items showed up damaged and/or broken (3 lamps) and I was refunded approx $960 for the damages. That doesn't include the loss of my Grandfather's sign, which matters first and foremost. I have reached out to Bellhop leadership, including the CEO, through LinkedIn. It will take someone caring enough, with empathy and compassion, to take on sorting the route of the truck and tracking down customers at each stop. This is what I'm praying for and hoping that by getting the word out, folks will read this and be able to help. I am heartbroken and sick over the loss.
Most of all, I don't want this kind of thing to happen to anyone else. Moving is stressful enough, who needs this?

Great fast job done by the movers, but they didn’t use the moving blankets so my furniture got really scratched and dinged. Additionally I paid for the full price of a truck but they didn’t end up bringing or using one.
