We stayed in this hotel first weekend on May 2026 , booked three rooms 12 persons in total 6 children .
We arrived after our 120 mile journey at 2.20pm , kids tired and restless , but we are not specified to check in at 3.00pm ( its only 2.20pm ) , maybe its worth an ask ..

At reception we ask .....
"Sorry we're a little early is it possible we could check in please ?"
They answer ..
"Welcome to Forrest Pines sir your rooms are ready and available for you but the charge is £10 per room to access half an hour early "
REALLY ...
they're ready , we've booked 3 rooms , we have 6 tired kids , but we can't get access without stumping up a further £30 .
In my book , thats a RIP OFF !!!
Which is a shame as other wise the rooms the breakfast the staff could not be faulted .
If its just me , out of touch with reality ..Ok
But personally i think its a money grab too far
Your rooms are available ...But ya can't have em if you aint got a spare £30

Golf pro shop closed before we finished playing and locked the gate to the car park forcing us to carry our bags of clubs to the car park from a buggy we hired which was difficult for us as we’re elderly…
Food in the restaurant was very poor… dry and tasteless combined with poor service left us extremely disappointed….
No heating in room either

Was here for six days for a business trip. Can’t comment on the facilities such as the gym, spa or golf course but overall the hotel I thought was excellent. The food was very tasty, the rooms spacious and comfortable. Todd bathroom and shower facilities. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and efficient as were the staff who tended to the rooms daily.

We stayed here at the weekend as a couples retreat with friends.
This was my first spa experience. The treatment by Paula itself is what saved his review being less than 3 stars! We could not get seats in the spa to lay by the pool, there were very rude men in the hot tub.
Our room was fine and the bed comfortable. However we were not aware we had a kettle etc as this was hidden away in a cupboard.
The next day checkout was at 11, the cleaner tried getting into our room at 10am as she had been told this was empty! As the men were golfing they had booked us afternoon tea for early afternoon, This was appalling!! We waited 40 minutes and had to ask someone where our food was, it was brought out stale, obviously had been sat, no apology, no one checked on us to fill drinks or anything. I had to get up and go to the bar. There was only my group of 4 and a further group that has arrived after we were sat, ordered hot food, eaten and paid the bill while we waited for our sandwiches!
The service was terrible and so was the after noon tea.
Our breakfast and evening meals were wonderful and our waitress in the evening was a lovely lady. This was my first spa away experience and I am thoroughly disappointed.

My husband booked a night in the Thornbury suite as a surprise for my 40th birthday along with a spa treatment.
We arrived 6 minutes before the check in time to be told our room was not ready but our spa treatments started at 3.30 so we had to cart our luggage over to the spa. Cannot fault the friendliness of the spa staff and the treatments received by Anna and Natasha were fantastic. We spent a couple of hours in the spa enjoying the facilities but unfortunately we're unable to use the sauna and steam room as they were too full to get in.
When we checked in we arrived to the room and found that the complimentary mini bar was empty i went down to reception where this was soon rectified, we did notice that on the way to our rooms that the corridor was really untidy with numerous wine bottles and glasses left on one of the sides. We were also kept away by dog howling from a nearby room and the banging and slamming of doors.
Cannot fault the service in the restaurant and enjoyed a lovely evening meal, didn't get the name of the waitress but she was brilliant.
Unfortunately this was not the relaxing luxury stay my husband had planned for my birthday treat as a few things stated above let the place down.

We were bought an overnight spa stay for a Christmas present and were stopping in room 211 which was a suite. The 2 star rating is for the room only as the evening meal and rest of the hotel/spa was good. Come on guys, management needs to look at this room. Curtains hanging off, dirty carpet and mouldy bathroom .... its let the place down. If we had paid for the room ourselves we'd have asked to be moved!

Thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay, Mayra on reception really went the extra mile to help, cannot fault the service at all. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant. And both my husband and I had a treatment in the Spa with Danika and Natasha - who were both amazing, so relaxing and neither of us wanted the treatment to end.
We’re looking forward to visiting again soon, for another spa break.

From check in to departure, the Forest Pines was superb. The facilities were clean, spacious, and well appointed, but the staff are the standout feature, with great professionalism and attention to detail.

We were breaking a journey and needed somewhere ideally with a pool, so I cannot comment on the golf facilities, but the pool was large and a good temperature, and great after a long drive.

Dinner was also excellent and I can recommend booking in advance. The lounge also does meals but was a bit noisier, and we were very well looked after by the waiting staff at the restaurant.

The only oddity--not a problem however--was the pair of someone's socks we found on the floor so would suggest a little more scrutiny when checking the rooms, but it was more amusing than worrying!

I am confident we will be back.

Suggestion: make sure the staff have their names prominently displayed on badges so we can reference them in reviews.

On our last stay everything was really good however, quite disappointing this time . Nothing but doors banging late at night as our room next to a door that leads to other rooms. Had a very over priced restaurant meal frozen chips and meal not very hot left it all and dog ate the warm steak. Overpriced average cocktail very expensive night for average food .

The staff were all very welcoming, with a particular mention for Alex who served me at dinner both nights of my stay. She was very friendly and helpful.
The food was excellent, and the leisure facilities were good.
