Focusmate has built a supportive community around a great idea. Their app helps me immensly with my ADHD and lack of motivation.

I started focusmate during covid, and have stayed a power user for over 5 years now. I get easily distracted so this gently holds me to my intended task, and helps me time box my work too. One of my favorite tools / products to work on.

This genuinely helps me work and feel less isolated. I use it to structure my days. It's particularly effective when you build up a list of "favourites" aka. friendly faces.

Focusmate has been a huge help in keeping me accountable through both my undergraduate and now my medical studies. It gives me the structure and focus I need to stay on track, and I wouldn’t have come this far without it.

Focusmate has been a game-changer for me. Just knowing someone else is working alongside me keeps me accountable and focused. It’s simple, effective, and makes big tasks feel less overwhelming. I honestly get more done in one session than I do in hours on my own.

Focusmate is such a great concept. The UI is really nice and the varying lengths for meetings are great. I am especially productive when I use Focusmate.

Gamechanger!
I have been using Focusmate for about 18 months. Whenever I don't feel motivated to sit at my desk, which is literally in the next room to me, I book a session. Not only does this give me the commitment needed to do some work, but I also always carry on working for the next few hours. Even if it's tidying my desk!!

I am so grateful for Focusmate! I experience symptoms of severe adult ADHD and was finding it very difficult to concentrate, initiate tasks, and stay on track, despite my constant efforts to do so. It was very frustrating and mentally draining. I also experience chronic health issues as well which make sustained efforts challenging.

Though I am new to the platform, Focusmate has helped me significantly with following through on tasks that I have planned such as writing emails, planning household tasks, studying online, as well as other tasks. My virtual working partners so far have been friendly, knowledgeable, and supportive, and answered questions that I had. I really appreciate Focusmate and would recommend it to anyone, even those without concentration challenges, as a way to become more productive and have fun while doing so!

I have used Focusmate for all sorts of projects: novel writing, screenplays, "day job" work reports, even tidying up my home. It's a platform that has worked well with VERY few problems for the 5 years I've been a member. The "plus" membership is affordable, and it works as-advertised every time! A GREAT product.

Every ADHDer should know about Focusmate! I wish I’d known about it sooner. It’s perfect for when you wish you had a study buddy or a friend to help keep you company while you clean your apartment. It’s the built in external accountability and support to help you accomplish the things you want to do.

Focusmate is very helpful. I stumbled upon it a few years ago and used it off and on. Now, I'm using it daily. It really helps me to structure my day and to have an "appointment" to help me be accountable with my time. They offer a free option, but I have the paid version so I can use unlimited sessions. It is well worth it, and I have only had positive experiences with it.

Amazing tool to get stuff done if you're easily distracted. I tried FocusMate after finding it on ChatGPT as a recommendation, and I have to say the concept is brilliant. You join a 75-minute Zoom call with a random stranger, share your goals at the start, work with your camera on, and then talk about what you accomplished at the end. You really keep each other accountable. It also helps me get up in the morning when I’ve booked a session in advance, because I don’t want to leave my partner hanging

Focusmate is a miracle and has helped me to stay focused and take breaks and stay on task to complete assignments. The people have also encouraged me.

I've been on Focusmate for 3 years, and now I am finally a college student who are ready to step on my journey for my BS/DO program! I am so grateful for all the inspiring people I've encountered on Focusmate. It is a very supportive and safe environment where all of us are motivated by each others. I love this platform and thankful for the scholarship I received, which pushes me even more to keep focusing and bringing positivity to our Focusmate community :)

great platform for focus and productivity with highly educated and goal oriented peoples.

I love Focusmate. I first learned about it during the pandemic, but then forgot about it. I became a member a couple months ago and now don't know what I'd do without it. I find it particularly helpful to book a session at the end of the day when I'm really low energy and I need accountability to get my work done. I typically book sessions on the spot, but I'm thinking about prescheduling sessions for work that I tend to procrastinate on.

A great platform against procrastination.

I really like this service to organise my WFH. It helps me to focus on the tasks I need to carry on, since I am "forced" to sit down in front of the computer. I find it also works as a soft accountability tool, due to the fact that you talk with your partner BEFORE and AFTER the session.

The only downside I see is the fact that they only allow a yearly subscription. Since I work on a project basis, some months are more hectic than others, and thus a 12-month subscription doesn't make much sense for me.

There is a kind of magic to this website when it comes to getting tasks done. It's hard to explain... but just having another human standing by... you set a simple goal, and you do your best to make it... If you don't quite get there, no points off, yet if you do, then there's something rewarding to having the person there to say "I GOT there!" to. It's a no pressure help-mate. It's a miracle for procrastinators like me. A membership is very affordable, and very rewarding. I cannot recommend it enough.

Its a lifeline for my ADHD. That increased focus and attention on you in a two person session as opposed to group sessions is really good for ADHD.
