First visit never again

Ate at Lakeside with my grand daughter - food greasy and over priced. Drinks refillable but expensive and tasted like fizzy water when I complained it took ages for Manager to come and sort - shexwas very pleasant and tried hard but clearly under staffed. Won't be using this chain again

Hi Andy, we're sorry to hear about your experience at our Lakeside store.

To confirm, our burgers are cooked well done and juicy only, the standard American way. The recipe for our Freestyle machine drinks is automatically mixed, as such, we do not have the access to water them down.

Our prices are what they are as we pride ourselves on the quality of our food. We use only fresh and premium ingredients, which are hand prepared each morning by our crew, to ensure a high quality product. We don't have any freezers in our stores and everything is cooked to order.

Was very disappointed with our choice…

Was very disappointed with our choice of five guys meal, after having been to five guys before the portion size of both the burger and chips was very big as I ordered a large chips this time which when received was disappointing along with the smallest burger I have seen & for the price which I paid was very expensive

Horrible management!

My bad review has nothing to do with the food, but it is based on what I have witnessed during my visit. On Friday 12th May, around 7pm, I was having dinner at the restaurant in Lakeside (Thurrock) when a woman wearing a black top and a black hat (presumably a manager or a supervisor) came in from the back of the shop, slamming the door open, and started to yell at one member of the staff. She reprimanded the man using an angry disrespectful extremely loud tone of voice, in front of other members of staff and customers. Poor guy was mortified and on the verge of tears. As a manager myself, I would never treat my staff the way that woman treated him. It was appalling! Your management team need seriously to be retrained in both management skills and manners.
