Our experience started from the moment we contacted Far & Wild. Lucie listned to our dream of Africa and Zanzibar and made it a reality. Every detail was perfectly handled. She organized the perfect safari for us with a brilliant camp IKUKA Ruaha Tanzania.The Palms Zanzibar was romantic and beautiful.We gave Lucie a budget and she did not try and upsell us. We can't say enough about her and everything the Far&Wild team did for us

We booked a 10 day family vacation to São Tomé and Principe with Far and Wild and had the most wonderful trip. Alastair understood what we were looking and also gave us excellent advice on our itinerary, particularly on São Tomé. The local travel partner they use on São Tomé, Navetur, were also fantastic—informative and organized and just a pleasure to spend a few days with. We don’t normally use travel companies, but would absolutely use Far and Wild again. And for anyone considering a trip to São Tomé and Principe, we cannot recommend it enough!

We were "surfing the net" to look for a place to walk in March - rainy season in Southern Africa. Clicked on a message and Ben got back to us within a couple of hours and phoned that evening. From there on, it was excellent - 2 weeks later we were walking in Ruaha National park under Guide "Moli" - Andrew Molerino. What a great, knowledgable and entertaining guy as well as an excellent professional guide. He is one of the best we have had ( and we have walked in 4 different Southern African countries - in 7 national parks !). The efficient organisation of "Far & Wild, their responsiveness and prompt replies was an absolute pleasure even down to their "user friendly app" "Vamoos" - made it very easy for us. Even with short notice they performed outstandingly well and got us what we wanted ! Thank you, "Far & Wild team" a great job, well done, 10 out of 10. We will certainly be using them again to arrange future trips.

This was the best organised Safari trip we have ever had. From start to finish, the booking process, travel information, itinerary, efficiency and knowledge in dealing with our queries and questions was outstanding. Take a bow. We say this as fairly experienced and fortunate Safari travellers all over Southern and East Africa.

Just a wee message to let you know what an absolutely amazing holiday we’ve had in South Africa and Zimbabwe. It was perfect in every way.

Despite our reservations about British Airways, all flights were on time with a great service. Restored our faith in them !! Airlink was brilliant too. We had 8 flights over our two week holiday, every one was on time, sometimes even arriving at our destination earlier than planned.

Ilios and Wild Horizons were 1st class for pick ups, transfers and the Zambezi sunset cruise.

The Portswood Hotel in Cape Town was perfect for V&A and very safe, Bayete Lodge at Shamwari amazing 5 star service, Nkosi Lodge at Victoria Falls was very relaxed and comfortable with staff who helped us get the most out of our two days. High quality service, made it a great finale to our holiday. Would definitely recommend all theses hotels / lodges.

The Sunset cruise on the Zambezi was a wonderful finale to round off our holiday. Pre booking the tour to Robben Island was a great plan.

From the moment we got in touch with what we were looking for Far and Wild 'got us' and designed an itinerary that could not have been more perfect for us. We had two week in Kenya and started at Lewa House which was amazing and the perfect start. From Sarumi to Peponi on Lamu the ending at Manda Bay. We don't usually use tour operators, but Far & Wild came highly recommended and we thought we'd push the boat out for our honeymoon. We have just returned and had the most INCREDIBLE trip. It was honestly the holiday of a lifetime. Ben and Louise both delivered on the most spectacular scale with seamless organisation and the best rooms in the best accommodation we have ever been to. We are lost for words! I can't recommend enough.

We took the train from Nairobi to Mombasa which takes 5 hours. This is very reasonably priced and is a perfect way to arrive in Tsarvo Reserve for a two day safari. Far and Wild provided excellent drivers and cars and guides in the Park and we were very impressed with the Company as a whole.

Lucie Thaxter was great in helping us develop our safari and beach plan. We wanted a quieter safari and then some culture, followed by relaxation. We visited Naboisho Valley in Maasai Mara then transferred to Zanzibar to spend time in Stone Town then onto the east coast for rest and relaxation on the beach. Every single transfer and thing worked perfectly. The quality of the accommodations and the whole experience was absolutely top notch! We had THE MOST amazing time on safari particularly and loved Kicheche Valley Camp with only 6 tents and boundless wildlife all around us. We saw and experienced so much that it will stay in our memories forever! A balloon trip across Mara was also a highlight worth shelling out for. We would thoroughly recommend using Lucie and the Far and Wild team. So much expertise and knowledge from a very customer focussed team who are just excellent to deal with. I would thoroughly recommend using them - they are also a bit cheaper than the bigger companies and you'll probably get a better more personal service too! Thank you Lucie!

My wife and I booked our honeymoon to Kenya (Safari) and Seychelles (Beach) through Alistair Walls and his team at Far & Wild, and we could not be happier with every facet of our experience. We came to Alistair with a general concept of what we wanted to do ("safari for an adventure, followed by the beach for relaxation") and Alistair knew right away where to steer us. Mind you, we had absolutely no experience traveling in southern/central Africa; but Alistair made us feel extremely comfortable in making choices (his having personally visited the places he suggested), and in hindsight we would not have done our safari any other way. His suggestion for the Seychelles as a beach destination (one with which we, like most Americans, were not very familiar with), as opposed to other available options, turned out to be the absolute best thing we could have hoped for. The booking process was seamless (the prices they are able to obtain for accommodations and experiences are excellent as well), and they provided us a wealth of information and tips for our travel which had us well-prepared for our departure. And though every part of our trip went seamlessly - every hotel beautiful, every transfer on time, etc. - we know that, had we had a problem, they would have been available to help us. We cannot recommend Far & Wild, and especially Alistair Walls, highly enough. Even if your are not UK-based, they are the best imaginable travel agents, especially for travel to Kenya and the Seychelles! Book with them! You will not regret it!

This was the first time we’d used Far and Wild. Recommended by Responsible Travel, Alistair understood immediately what we were looking for from our trip to São Tomé and Príncipe in January 2023. We’re usually independent travellers, but knew that, going off the beaten track, we needed guidance and advice. Alistair and his team were responsive, efficient, courteous and informative. Our two week holiday was well organised, every bit of the itinerary working well. The Vamoos app was particularly useful for managing the itinerary and paperwork. Thank you Far and Wild. We ended up not travelling due to unforeseen circumstances, but still wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alistair - he was friendly, courteous, full of ideas, and the fastest responder to emails that I have worked with. Thank you again Alistair.

We originally booked our Southern Africa tour in 2019, pre-pandemic. We finally went Sept22. At the time of booking Alistair suggested a couple of add ons to the tour to make our experience even better, these add ons were not hugely expensive and were so worth it. Throughout the time between booking and us going, Far and Wild, specifically Alistair, were absolutely brilliant. They happily delayed our trip a couple of times as we were uncertain about travel restrictions etc, they kept us informed of any changes to itinerary or costs, and were especially good when one of the airlines for an internal flight went out of business. Alistair worked very hard to find an alternative airline at no extra cost to us.
During the trip all our bookings, transfers and experiences were spot on. We would absolutely recommend Far and Wild as a tour operator and will definitely be using them again

Ben phoned me after my initial online enquiry and spoke to me for over half an hour to work out what kind of holiday we wanted, our tastes, budget and hotel type. He listened very well and captured the type of experience and accommodation we were looking for.
I was so excited About our holiday and then wondered if it could deliver On my hopes but it actually exceeded our expectations.
We stayed at Saruni Mara lodge in the Masai Mara north conservancy.
It was truly delightful, run by Masai people who were a big welcoming family and outstanding game viewing. Ben has recommended a conservancy and he was right.
We then flew to Zanzibar and thoroughly enjoyed some relaxation.
Everything went to plan. Every pick up was on time. The tickets were all correct. I would wholeheartedly recommend this company. If you are considering them, then go for it. I’ve never had personal service like it.

We got in touch with Ben at Far and Wild and the trip he arranged for our honeymoon was more than we could have imagined! We only organised a few months before but Ben listened to all of our requirements and planned a trip of a life time with time in Dubai, Kenya (Saruni and Masai Mara), followed by the Seychelles. Planning a trip by yourself can be overwhelming with so many options however Ben was able to suggest places for us to stay based on what we were looking for so it made the booking process easy. Everywhere we visited was extraordinary with a high level of service and an equal measure of activities and relaxing. We would definitely recommend booking with Far and Wild. Thank you!

On our retirement we were looking for a bit of an adventure and came across Far & Wild Travel. They could not have been more helpful in putting together exactly what we wanted and then rearranging everything due to Covid. All queries were answered promptly and the holiday itself was everything we wanted and more. Great little company.

Alistair and the Far and Wild team gave us excellent service from our initial telephone call with him through to the end of our holiday experience. He listened to our wish list and then suggested an itinerary, including a couple of walking safari's which we would not have thought of ourselves, and made our dream 'bucket list' safari holiday to Tanzania happen in spite of Covid, which meant lots of rescheduling!

We booked a complex multi centre trip in 2019 and then CoVid kicked in. Alistair at Far and Wild had done a great job in listening to what we wanted and created a package of experiences that we didn't want to give up. Throughout that gap period we were kept informed, felt listened to and truly cared for. This level of service and contact was a small example of what was to come and how customer centric the team are.
The trip itself was exceptional and seamless considering the frequent rescheduling and the different locations and bookings across Africa. We had a wonderful experience and benefitted enormously from the wealth of experience, skill and quality of the partners that Far & Wild work with.
