I am a retired professional with dyscalculia and am currently a student of the Fables World Method.
I have struggled with mathematics all of my life and had to find ‘work arounds’ to handle situations involving calculations.
When I heard Rebecca Ginger being interviewed about this method on BBC Radio 4, I was able to identify myself in her description of dyscalculia and the impact it has had on my life.
I have completed several of the Quests and found, through practice and repetition, my confidence and proficiency in mental arithmetic has grown and improved - something that I believed would never happen!
It has been challenging too. As an adult, pride can get in the way of accepting that the Fables World cartoon characters and ‘number bonds’ really work. I had a few wobbles but focused on the fact that this is a tried and tested method which works!
I am so pleased that I plucked up the courage to contact Rebecca and to enrol in this course. For the first time, I am no longer afraid of calculations!
I plan to continue using this method to complete the Quests.

The set-up of Fables World is so clever, because even the most maths-phobic child is really encouraged to practice every day & that is the key to improvement. My daughter absolutely can't bear the idea of losing her streak, and wasting all the effort she has put in so far. She still dislikes maths, but she is doing the exercises every day because she is working towards enough coins to buy a special hat, and working towards a cuddly toy and real money, and she can see herself on the leaderboards, and we are giving her lots of praise for sticking with it. Practicing every day is also improving her attitude towards the harder maths, and she is able to do the exercises more calmly without having a meltdown. Could you develop a Fables World system for eating all of their dinner now please?

Fables World has made such a huge difference to my daughter in a short space of time. She has always been anxious about maths and has been struggling with it for a while. She has really grown in confidence since starting Fables World. She always looks forward to doing the daily tasks whereas before she would avoid maths at all costs. The format really suits her and she enjoys the images and pictures and her addition and subtraction especially with larger numbers has come on immensely. I originally signed both my dyscalculic children (older teens) up to Fables World to help them with their times tables. Table Fables worked amazingly for my son, my daughter has been a little slower at getting it. I (also dyscalculic) am now doing Simply Maths and am going to sign up for Table Fables soon. I remember the humiliation I felt at school, many, many years ago, for not knowing my tables, and wished my brain could remember the numbers, and the rhymes the other kids used; Table Fables is a completely different approach, and one which I hope will work for me as it has for my kids.

My daughter has several diagnoses and complicated health issues. 11yrs old, health improving, but even with all the additional school help and apps, math was still her biggest struggle. Could do some addition, no subtraction and most was done on fingers or writing slashes on paper. 2 months, about 5-20 mins a day, just about everyday, she is now not only doing double digit adding/subtracting but much of it is done mentally. Absolutely amazing! We are moving on to multiplication/division, fingers crossed!

My Son lost his confidence with Maths when he struggled to rote learn his timestables. He got more and more anxious about it. We tried Fables World and he really enjoyed it, found it really funny, and it took the stressn out of learning his timestables. He loves the cashback and prizes too. It used to be huge battle to get him to practice Maths but with Fables World I only have to ask and he does it straight away.

My children really enjoy it and are motivated to do this every day without me having to knagg at all! The little catchphrases are repeated through our house! The characters and videos really work! I am a maths and English teacher, and I use these videos in our lessons. The children love them, it really helps them to remember! Fun, visual learning is definitely the way forward. My own children use simply maths and maths fables every day. This program has been a lifeline, I appreciate it so much. The children also love all the rewards, teddy bears, Beano and the £5 back every month, it really keeps them motivated.

We are Fables World fans in my house! My son enjoys each session, his brothers love watching, and my husband and I love that his times tables are being reinforced in a fun way.
