The worst customer experience of my life
I'm 30 days into a 5-10 day order and it's hard to find words to describe my animosity towards this company.
Try to imagine what would happen if the lowest rated cable and telephone companies in the country got together, made a joint venture in the passport expediting industry, and hired corrupt ex-members of a third world government to run it.
They would produce a company with more integrity and reliability than Express Passport.
Under normal circumstances, I would just stop doing business with a company, leave no review, and move on. I will not move past this experience. In fact, I will not stop until I either get the service I paid for or all my documents and money are returned. Their treatment of customers is unacceptable and I will not accept it.
I had the same experience with John, Sandy, and Samantha as many other reviewers. The moment they get your money all communication will cease. They don't respond to e-mail or messages to the website, they don't return calls, and they have full mailboxes so you can't even leave voicemail.
When you are lucky enough to have a few conversations with these people you come to realize they are either: a) amazingly incompetent, b) grossly negligent, or c) woefully ignorant of how important a passport is to the life of a client. These people don't seem to have a conscious, they are callous, and they are the face of the company. I can't believe these people are trusted to handle passports and personal information. I wouldn't trust them to bag my groceries right now.
I see many complaints and I just wanted to share different actions you might consider when dealing with this company. I called several agencies and this is some of the advice I received:
If they tell you your passport is being processed at the Seattle passport agency go ahead and verify with the National Passport Information Center at 877-487-2778, then you can call them out on this later.
If you are past your timeline, they fail to communicate, and you accept that you are probably screwed, then you can declare your passport lost or stolen, and get a new one immediately. Call your credit card company and reverse those charges. Also notify a credit bureau that you need a 90 fraud alert because a shady company has your social security number, other personal information, and you don't know what they are doing with it. If they aren't providing documents to the passport agency, they can't locate them, and they refuse to communicate, then what is a reasonable person left to assume?
Calling a lawyer is also no-brainer option and while that might help you personally many other victims will suffer so I would still file complaints.
A site that led me to Express Passport said they were Better Business Bureau accredited but that's not true. They have a F rating with the BBB based on 30 complaints filed against the business, failure to respond to 24 complaints filed against the business, 3 complaints filed against business that were not resolved. Take a look at the company on the BBB site and file a complaint there.

File a complaint with the FTC at 877-382-4357. We have all these complaints on this site and only a handful with the FTC. The FTC told me they need all of your individual complaints to be filed directly with them. They need to collect these complaints to investigate and take action against these people.
Palm Beach County Consumer Affairs is the consumer protection agency which deals with this business. You can contact them at 561-712-6600 and they can act on your behalf.
Contact the Florida Attorney General and file a complaint through the Consumer Protection Division.
Call your Congressman and see if their office can assist you with processing if your passport actually made it to a passport agency.
The website has a button which says they are a member of the American Society of Travel Agents. They haven't been a member since 2011 so feel free to call them 1.800.275.2782 about the fraudulent use of the logo.
The website leads you to believe they have an average 5 star rating with TrustPilot. All but two of those 5 star ratings stopped abruptly last December. You can report the misuse of the logo the support email of Trustpilot.
The company might ignore it's customers but they won't ignore all of these entities. Good luck.
Terrible service! Use if you like Stress and failure to respond
Terrible service, We requested 5-7 day processing with documents verified arrival on the 23rd of May. Travelling teh 10th of June...passport is still in transit meaning today or thousands of $$$ will be lost. You cannot contact as I tried over 30+ times and only once did I receive a real person to speak with & they were rude and not helpful. Providing same status as the department of state on passport processing. This company uses local couriers, by the way I was able to track via shipping label & talk to them to help push through this process and they were great, near the department of state to assist and no two way customer information is provided. Samantha is a joke and never returns a VM, that is IF you can leave one, and she doesn't help. They just take the money & you get all the hassle & stress and work to figure out what is happening. Recommend avoiding this company's service. Terrible experience!!! Looking to report to the BBB.

I selected the 5-10 business day renewal option which would have given me plenty of time before my trip, which is next week.
Out of the six times I have called their number, only once did someone answer the phone named John. I tried to leave messages for my "representative", Sandy, whose voicemail box cannot accept messages. Neither can Samantha's.
John told me that there had been some delays because of the Memorial Day holiday, but then he told me that the courier drops off the applications and picks up the passports at the end of the same day. I guess that's what it means to expedite.
I am a social worker and have had to save diligently for my trip next week and will lose over $2,000 if my passport does not arrive on time.
If it doesn't arrive by tomorrow I will be contacting the Federal Trade Commission and my congresswoman and hopefully the courier.

It's been 3 days since I paid $319 for my passport to be expedited. Today is the 7th, I need it by the 9th so I could leave for India by the 15th! I can't get my passport without a visa!
I should've read all of the reviews about Express Passport before I decided to give away my money. I'll be filing a complaint to the federal trade commission.
They are total scam
I signed up for a new passport application I filled up all the needed information and yet when I realized I needed to contact them for a email replacement they never replied my phone calls nor they even contacted me after I left 7 voicemails .

This company is a joke. I sent in all my paperwork on early may. Mid may and I hear nothing, so I have to call. The person who answers the phone is very rude and impatient and says I need to send $170 to cover a fee I missed. I mail the check at my own expense FedEx over night. They received the check the next day. This was May 17th. From there I have heard NOTHING from this company on the status of my passport. I called the department of Justice and they said they have nothing on me. I called fedex and they verified that my check was picked up. MY FLIGHT LEAVES JUNE 12TH
I was in touch with Sandy and she seemed very helpful until I told her that I had called the department of justice and fedex. After that no response to emails or calls. I also emailed and called the "manager" John Krebs and no answer. I have called numerous times and not even the rude guy is picking up now.
They have my old passport, and without my original birth certificate I have no hope of even trying to get my passport done again. I am calling my congressman as advised in another poor review they have gotten.

Started process and they received all my documents May 10, 2017. Have been calling, emailing and faxing. Passport office has no record of my info being submitted for renewal. Travel on 6/8/17 (today is the 6th). Will have to forfeit thousands of dollars as I do not have a passport with which to travel.
NO RESPONSE from express passport since Monday when I was told
"we emailed Seattle to get a status'. I sent my stuff to Miami....

I am traveling on June 15th and I started my process on May 11th. Since I'm down to last minute passport. I went with this service for a faster no hassle stress free process. Every time i called them they will say the same thing "They are contacting their agency in Miami regarding the file". The costumer service is rude, loud and not sympathetic at all of my situation. I called the passport agency and they have no records of my passport application and the money order I sent for the fee, has not even been cashed. I have 9 days left to my trip and Still no passport.
I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE TO ANY ONE!!!!!

It has been a horrible experience. Most of the time they don't answer the phone. If I do get someone their response is "I will look into it and I will get back to you". They never did. I did finally reach someone on Friday and she said "It is all finished and I will have it delivered on Saturday morning before 11am" but it never came.
I called the passport office and they have no record of my application being submitted. They have agreed to work with me to get my passport renewed before I leave. They also advised me to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission which I did.

I hired Express Passport to expedite the renewal of my passport.
I live in Miami and the passport office had a flood and closed before I could go there and renew.
I used the 8-10 business day service, as I would need my passport in about 17 calendar days, and on the 8th business day after numerous calls I spoke with a gentleman whose was very rude and he said to me that I need to trust them.
Well, that was the red flag! When I heard that I came to the conclusion that this company in totally incapable of handing my expedited needs.
They told me my passport would arrive the day before my trip. (TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT and this would have been the 11th business day)
After contacting the Department of State on the 9th business day, they could not confirm that my passport would be ready in time for my trip.
I once again sent 3-6 e-mails and made dozens of calls to Passport Express before I was able to speak with the same gentlemen who once again told me to trust him that my passport would arrive in time for my trip.
(They truly have no idea, they just send the passport out to yet another middle man, who also doesn't have the ability to expedite this service)
NOW it was time for me to deal with this on my own to make sure I received my passport on time for my trip...
I called my congressman's office and told them my situation and in less than 3 hours received confirmation that they had used the influence to expedite my passport.
My passport arrived the next day....
This company does NOTHING that you can't do yourself.
If you are in a hurry, DON'T EVEN THINK OF USING Passport Express.
They have no customer service and are only middlemen sitting at a computer hoping like the rest of us that the passport will arrive to you on time.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

absolutely horrible, once they get your money, the communication goes south, they do not return emails or phone messages AT ALL! If you are lucky enough to get someone to answer, the standard answer I have been getting for over a week is "it is scheduled for fed ex delivery tomorrow, you will get an email with the tracking number later today." This has been the same answer everyday for a week now. I wish I knew of something else I could do, I feel so regretful that I attempted to use this company, I may be screwed.
No services provided after 3 months of dealing with them
05/10/17-I am pretty upset with myself for not reading all these reviews before moving forward with renewing my passport. I started my services on 2/24/17 because my passport expires in May and I wanted to leave some room for error just in case. Well my passport has now expired and I can't reach the office manager who told me he was "on it" when i called to complain at the beginning of the month of May. Nobody at this office has done anything for me after they said they would take care of something. Sandy was suppose to create a temporary travel itinerary - never happened. Samantha said she'd help me out since she saw my paperwork sitting in the back office for over a month untouched- never happened. I emailed the owner about whats going on - never heard back. I have mailed off 3 separate checks and haven't heard a word. I will update this review if they refund my money for me since no services were provided. LOOK AT THE RATINGS - DON'T WAIST YOUR TIME OR MONEY
** edit ** 05/11/17 after calling the courier company and leaving this review I finally got my passport taken care of. I noticed in the reviews that they will call you if you leave a bad review - and what do you know! I finally got in touch so I bumped up to a 2 star since I received an email with my tracking number for my new passport.
SCAM!!! BEWARE!!!
I spent $100 (each for my husband and I) on application fees to find out THIS IS A SCAM!! There are NO application fees for a passport when you go to someone honest or a government agency. I've been calling for weeks only to get a generic speaking answering machine. Doesn't tell you the name of the company your calling or the name of anyone when leaving a message. It's ALL automated. I am a very cautious person and everything seemed to check out. I can't believe I fell for this!!
MY RESPONSE TO PASSPORT EXPRESS.... I truly wish I could post a picture of THE APPLICATION YOU SENT! If I can, and I just couldn't figure out, someone please tell me how! Not only did I recieved the application from you, it states (and I quote!!) "New passport applicants are required to appear in person at their local acceptance agent." Also states (under the title of Government Fee of $110) "Regular processing time is 4 to 6 weeks." So if you are unable to expedite a NEW passport WHY?! do you even charge someone the fee when YOU HAVE A SECTION DEDICATED TO NEW PASSPORT CUSTOMERS?

Spent over $400 to expedite my passport …
Spent over $400 to expedite my passport and didn't receive. Still have no response and lost over $2000 in travel fees and the $466 I spent to expedite!! Not to mention lost 8 hours of work on the phone with them and state dept! Now I have NO passport at all! Terrible!!!
Paid for expedited service but it has been over 2 months.
I paid for expedited service and it has been over 2 months. I still have not received my passport. I call and get excuses and a promise it will be there in the next couple days everytime. I just got off the phone with them again and it was the same thing. If I do not receive my passport by Monday, I will take legal action.
Two Months and Waiting
Received confirmation of receipt of my passport for expedited renewal Jan 24, 2017. Now March 22 and still waiting. John Krebs will not return my phone calls or emails. Have reported passport as missing or stolen. Working with my congressional rep to replace my passport.
Wonderful group!
I had to last minute get my passport renewed that was referred to Express Passport and was above and beyond very pleased! They were easy to talk to and worked well as a team. I called a couple times, due to I'm a bit OCD, and they were very kind to answer all my questions and went above and beyond to over communicate. Excellent group and will use them again, if and when needed!
