Evans Halshaw was a welcoming showroom. The staff were friendly and the young salesman was very helpful. He answered all our questions professionally, (no matter how silly they might have seemed), and respectfully. Alistair went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our choice of vehicle.

Debbie in the servicing department went over expectations when dealing with Mums service and issues. I'd called in to the other Evans Halshaw in Leeds 12 and the girl there was so rude i just walked out. Horsforth particularly Debbie is an asset to your business!

I had my car serviced yesterday and wanted to share my experience.

Firstly, I want to highlight the guy on reception who dealt with me – he was absolutely fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and professional from start to finish. He really made a great first impression and set a positive tone.

The service itself was done straight away, and I appreciated the free drink while I waited. That part of the visit was smooth and efficient.

However, I do have some concerns that I feel need to be addressed, especially as a monthly-paying customer. I believe that paying regularly should come with the assurance that every aspect of the service – from reception to the work done on the car to the final clean – is carried out to the highest standard. Unfortunately, that wasn’t quite the case.

One ongoing issue is the lack of communication regarding service reminders. I didn’t receive any reminder ahead of time. Thankfully, I’m organised and had the date noted in my diary, but I contacted Evans Halshaw several times via email and the website with no response. When I called, I was told I wasn’t due – I stood firm, and it turned out I was correct.

At the end of the service, the same fab receptionist told me I’d be emailed a report/video, but over 24 hours later, I’m still waiting to receive it.

When I got back into my car, I was met with a very unpleasant stale water smell. It either came from the person who had been inside the car who didn't have great personal hygiene or from a damp, unwashed cloth used to wipe things down. The cleaning itself was poorly done – the inside wasn’t properly wiped, and while there was an attempt to hoover, the mats and door sides clearly hadn’t been done properly, I took images as a proof. The smell was so unpleasant I had to go buy a car freshener. The windscreen still had dirt on it, yet the car had been washed. If the visible isn't done properly, I question how well the actual service on the car is done.

All in all, I’d rate the experience a 3/10 at most. While I appreciate the efficiency of the service and the brilliant receptionist, I do expect more as a loyal, paying customer – especially in terms of communication, attention to detail, and cleanliness.

Excellent from start to finish. EH Horsforth we're amazing in sorting me out with my Vauxhall Mokka. Kristian and Aaron dealt with the matter and were knowledgeable, professional and courteous throughout. As a lady buying by myself, trust was critical and I felt valued and safe during the process. Nothing was too much trouble and Craig who delivered it was fab too. Well done to all for a great buying experience.

All work was discussed and prices given. The work was completed whist I waited (ths coffee machine was welcome!). I feel secure in the knowledge my car is safe and reliable to drive, especially as I need to care for my grandchildren. Annual service and MOT carried out efficiently and on day and within time limit promised. I appreciated free ride from garage to home once I had left car in garage for work to be carried out. I was very satisified with the service I rreceived, and comunication about how work was progressing and when car was ready for collection.

I went in for a service which identified faults over 1k on a 7 year old car?? They were patient with me since I needed to review the situation . I decided to get a newer car and the team was very helpful trying to find a car that would have suited my needs and changes in circumstances.As a more mature person I was a bit hesitant in the on line approach but I found it quiet easy to follow.My only reservations would be if someone did not have a home printer how the heck do deal with it all. I prefer a paper copy which I am sure more mature people like but hey that was only a little issue. I would like to say a big thank you to Paul and Andy who explained all my options.Well done and I will return back when service and MOT are due.

As a serious 23-year-old buyer prepared to purchase a £23,000 vehicle from Evans Halshaw, I am appalled by the treatment I received at your dealership. The experience was nothing short of disgraceful and ultimately cost your business a substantial sale.

Due to being under 25, I was informed I couldn’t test drive the vehicle myself due to your insurance policy — which I understood and respected. To accommodate this, I brought my father to drive the vehicle on my behalf. Initially, the salesperson informed me I could accompany him on the test drive by sitting in the back seat. However, after a lengthy conversation with the manager, the salesperson returned and stated that I would not be allowed in the car at all.

This sudden reversal made no sense and felt like a poor excuse to exclude me from the process entirely. I’ve never encountered such a policy at any other dealership. Denying the actual buyer the opportunity to even ride in the vehicle — especially when accompanied by a fully licensed adult — is both unreasonable and unjustifiable. The fact that the manager was staring at me during their conversation only added to the discomfort and made the retraction feel personal and targeted.

To make matters worse, the manager's attitude was appalling. He was rude, abrupt, and showed no regard for basic customer service. His dismissive tone and unprofessional conduct left me feeling disrespected, unwelcome, and frankly, insulted.

As a young Asian customer, I couldn’t help but feel that bias may have played a role in how I was treated. I was made to feel like a nuisance rather than a valued customer — as if I was wasting their time. In reality, they lost a genuine £23,000 sale due to their own behavior and what appeared to be discriminatory conduct.

I will absolutely be taking my business elsewhere unless this this resolved and I also strongly urge other young or minority buyers to think twice before engaging with Evans Halshaw.

After contacting numerous garages who couldn't get me in til middle of June vauxhall Horsforth got me in the very next day. Will who dealt with me kept me informed a.nd they did a great job. I will definitely use Horsforth again

recently bought a new Vauxhall Corsa and had a brilliant experience from start to finish. Alistair was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process.
