Try and keep your deposit

I left Dubai and they make it impossible to get your deposit back. They ignore all emails, and only when you start threatening the police they come back with "we have forward your email to another department".. so 6 months waiting for my deposit. Thieves

in short they are looting the money, in the name of maintenance and demand charges, honestly, if the consumer were given a option to choose between Empower or Dewa, I will choose Dewa, to stay away from the poor pathetic service. I wish the new construction builders dont use empower service .

Update: it is against the illegal as per RSB RD02 to disconnect district cooling when the outstanding amount is less than the deposit. It seems like many people are experiencing this: complain to the regulator via rsbdubai.gov.ae .

Outrageously high prices (as shown by the fact that they record profits of over 30% of revenue as a "utility" company). Takes ages to connect or disconnect. Awful 1990s style website. Calling by phone just plays messages telling you to use their (awful) website. Awful company, sadly often unavoidable given their dominance of district cooling market.

The worst company ever

I don't think Empower as a company even cares for reviews, the only way to make the voices heard is by collectively writing our reviews and bad experience of the service, the website ( which is so so slow and non responsive) and so many high charges like the demand charge. They are a monopoly hence loot everyone left right and Centre. If empower is a public company , its going to be a failure if it ever launched its shares.

I paid a penalty of 1000 AED for a mistake done by Empower. They are sending my bills and texting me to a wrong telephone number and a wrong email address they refuse to provide the numbers used ! This is against the privacy of people and the GDPR . All my information is being sent to an unknown person and they are not refunding me back !!! Lousy lousy customer service !!

As a new owner of an apartment

As a new owner of an apartment, I tried to register online. They came with suspended registration for an outstanding payment referred to the first owner (there was another one before me!). they were asking me to pay for something not belonging to me neither to the previous owner! Really long stand process (more than 2 weeks to understand what happens), bad experience, very limited Website, and not clarity on their Billing IT processes. I would recommend a clear audit of their systems because I'm not sure if we are paying correctly what due.

If there is a option for zero star I…

If there is a option for zero star I would love to give, so horrible customer service, the most painful thing is to get back your refund from them after disconnection the service, in future i will never use there service doesn't matter how cheap is the apartment.

Getting refund is an Exercise

I paid all my bills and have been regular with my bills always, when I wanted to disconnect the services and asked for a final bill and refund, they gave me a bill which I paid online. But when I asked them for the refund to be credited back to my account, they started to give me inconvenient options. Cheque collection which may take upto 30 days, Transfer to another Empower account or Cash collection for which I need to go to their office and fix an appointment. I realized that they don’t want to pay you back. I tried to complain but it seems to fall on deaf ears. I’m out of country and don’t know how to get my refund back. They accept online payment but when to return they will go inconvenient methods, I don’t know what to call it.

Empower is a mistake

They say they do not charge registration fees, they charge only based on consumption. Most of the day I am at work. I turn on my AC late afternoon. I am getting bills close to 1000 and 800 aed per month and I am not there for at least 8 to 9 hours per day. I am not sure where all this bill is coming from. In my previous apartment where chiller was under dewa bill, my bills in August all together were about 800 and change. So including municipality, electricity, water, sewage and AC all together came to less than an Empower bill alone. This is unprofessional and unacceptable, if you still have the registration fee on don't lie to people and tell them we are not charging you monthly registration. Never rent with Empower involved. Don't do this mistake and feed the shark.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. They never reply to their emails. I have sent countless times. Makes it very hard to do bills when you are not living in Dubai. DIFC should especially get rid of Empower as makes DIFC look bad and puts people of doing business in DIFC
