23 May 2026. 1.25 from Airport to Aberdeen. Sorry Ember I used to like your service as I travel quite often from the Airport to Kinross and vice versa, but since you cut almost in half the number of buses going through the airport it’s been a nightmare with buses regularly badly delayed delayed. When I purchased the ticket the bus was already delayed by 15 minutes which became almost 50 when the bus left the airport. I understand fewer buses mean fuller buses and higher profit but you need to adjust the timetable to cater for lots of people getting on and off. P.s. just added one star because you refunded the cost of the ticket. However I would prefer to pay for a better service. One piece of advice: go back to the old schedule.

On time, communicative, clean

If they don't turn up, they tell you in advance of delay, tracking is excellent and accessible, and refunds immediate. That they can take bikes underneath is really handy for the Highland region where no other public transport available. I like their proactivity and buses are clean and pleasant. All running well and generally on time, a pleasant change from Stagecoach who couldn't organize a piss up in a brewery.

Very rude, grumpy driver that did not seem compassionate at all despite promises in Ember's FAQs of considerate drivers.

Driver was downright miserable and unfriendly on the E9 18/05/26 service to Inverness at 13:22. Was unhelpful and unwilling to help me scan the pass merely muttering grumpily "invalid pass" and then when I got the correct scan he just waved me on looking angry at me for getting on.

Not asking for much just a bit of courtesy and politeness which was sorely lacking in this driver.

Our driving team usually get very positive reviews, and where necessary we'll look into some refresher training to make sure this is consistent right across Scotland.

Standards are Slipping

Went on a bus today from Forfar to Dundee. An elderly couple with sticks were in front of us. The front seat double seats were occupied by a woman, looked able bodied, and her bag and the a guy training the driver. None of whom gave up their seats !

going downhill by adding far too many…

going downhill by adding far too many stops on the route. why on earth does it need to stop in kintore? also why blackburn?surely its well enough connected. stop adding so many stops! it used to be 2.5 hours now its 3 plus. this bus was due in at 17.10 it is 17.35 at time of writing this and i have hardly any time as it is for the 7.50 to Alicante now im going to be rushing. stop adding pointless stops!!

Hi Mr Bain - these stops have always been on this route and the trip times have always been a similar length. Ember runs a demand responsive service, meaning we only call into a stop where someone is booked to get on or off. This allows us to run more efficiently and save wasted time, and probably explains why you may not have stopped in Kintore or Blackburn when on previous E7 trips.

Great bus service.

Perfect choice of locations in Montrose to board the bus to Dundee. Dropped off at Slessor Gardens and the driver was very helpful in explaining where we would get the return bus.
Both buses were on time. They are comfortable, modern and spotlessly clean...my ' no bus' husband, is now converted. Well done Ember.

Lack of Safety and No Intervention from Driver

I usually have a good experience with this bus service, but this time the journey was awful. A group of drunk men got on the bus and were shouting loudly the entire time. They were kicking and shaking the seats, teasing my dog, and being rude to passengers who asked them to behave more quietly. They made it impossible to travel in peace.

What made it even worse is that the driver did not intervene or say anything to them at all. It felt unsafe and very uncomfortable. I really hope the company takes this seriously, because this kind of behaviour should not be ignored.

Hi Yelyzaveta - we're sorry to hear of this experience. Our conditions of carriage do have certain restrictions in place, and we explicitly state 'Having an alcoholic drink onboard is ok but being drunk is not.'

Unfortunately, it's not always easy for the driver to judge based on a quick interaction when the passenger is checking in. If you could email some more details to ride@ember.to we'd like to look into this particular example, and see if there's more we can do to prevent this in future.

We love having dogs on board, and other passengers teasing them is totally unacceptable. If we can identify the passengers in question, we will follow up directly. We hope to see both you and your dog on board again at a much calmer time, and we're confident you'll enjoy that journey. Unreliable service and nightmare conditions

I booked a return bus service from Aberdeen to Edinburgh airport. Both legs of the journey were in the early hours of the morning. For both trips the bus was full of severely inebriated passengers that were causing chaos including throwing up on board. On the way back the bus was 50 minutes late which is very bad for any airport transfer but to make matters worse it was FULL of drunk young people shouting, blasting music and being antisocial etc and someone kept constantly throwing up, the bus REEKED of vomit and was an absolute nightmare to be in for the 3.5 hours back, especially since there's no windows to open to air it out. The driver just ignored it all and kept going. Please stop drunk people from boarding at the first instance because it's unsafe for the rest of us!. Unfortunately won't be using again due to unreliability and horrendous conditions.

Your experience came on a bank holiday weekend, which is when Scotland's roads are at their busiest for Ember and all other operators, and is often also when people have slightly over-indulged. We don't present that as an excuse - these things should not happen - but we do believe that this is not at all typical of an Ember journey. Fantastic service

Fantastic service. Buses are clean and comfortable and the rides are very smooth. Good value too. Love the app where you can check on status. However by far and away the best thing about this company are the incredibly friendly and helpful drivers they have all been in my experience exceptional.

Hi Maksymilian - this is a tricky one to get just right. We sometimes get different passengers on the very same bus asking us to change the temperature both up and down. If you're ever uncomfortable, please just ask the driver to adjust the air conditioning (or, contact us via the live chat on www.ember.to and we can ask the driver for you).

bad experience

missed our connection at aberdeen to edinburgh due to the bus being late,first they blamed the weather then roadworks,both were not true,had to get a taxi as no other buses to edinburgh that time of night.coming home a week later bus from edinburgh airport,no help with luggage,i have diabetes and othe disabilities,people were scrambling to get onboard and could not get a seat together,i need my partner at all times to watch me,single people sitting with bags on there spare seats,not even offering you a seat,finally got a seat together after dundee,they shoul have seats for people like me reserved but you cant reserve seats.when we got home,told them about our experienceand they offered me £10 for what happened,taxi cost £330!,was not expecting them to pay it,just asked for a wee bit of compensation so felt insulted with there offer and told them to keep it,would i use them again,maybe on a shorter journey but they have many improvements to work on before i could give them more stars

Nice buses - excellent customer service

Lovely buses that were bang on time today. Where they excelled though was with the whole team from the drivers to the customer services helping to get my phone back which I left on the bus between Dalwhinnie and Newtonmore. They couldn't have been more responsive and helpful.

Great ride!

We travelled to Inverness and back from Fort William and what a pleasurable experience. Such polite and welcoming drivers. Our first time on a bus whilst holidaying, but won't hesitate to book again.
