Thank you to the lady who ordered my north face long sleeve shirt online, she was really helpful and polite.

I went in for their free Ski Boot Fit service and got exactly what I wanted. Very professional easy going and after trying on 3-4 different pairs of ski boots it turned out their first recomendation was correct to begin with.

Definately going back again.

I had a truly fantastic experience buying my ski boots at Glasgow Braehead store. Iain, the boot fitter/member of staff, was absolutely excellent – incredibly professional, patient, and knowledgeable. Everything was explained in detail, which gave me so much confidence in my choices.
I spent almost three hours trying different boots and finding the right skis, as well as choosing poles and bindings, and at no point did I feel rushed. The whole experience was not only highly professional but also genuinely fun, with a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere throughout.
I really appreciated being able to ask a million questions and having each one answered thoroughly and honestly. It was so reassuring to know I was making the right decisions with expert guidance.
This level of care and attention is rare and makes a huge difference. I couldn’t recommend this shop – and especially Iain – highly enough.

I had a boot fitting at Braehead with Taylor. It was an excellent experience. She is friendly, patient, responsive and a very good boot fitter. Highly recommended. Ellis Brigham usually go out of their way and the staff at Braehead are no exception.

From the get go I was made to feel that both comfort and the correct fit were the absolute end goals.
The steps of the fit were explained clearly in a way which was engaging and made me feel part of the process.
I tried on multiple boots before I was happy with which ones to go for.
I opted for moulded deck inserts which took the comfort to another level. George explained the thinking behind the science at each turn and I must say he was incredibly patient, both boots felt well locked in but not clamped down, hard to explain in words but I definitely got to the sweet-spot!

I visited Ellis Brigham at Castleford (Leeds) on the 7th of January 2026 and couldn’t fault the experience. I was served quickly by Nick in the snowboard department and, honestly, he was quite possibly the best I could have hoped for.

Nick took real time to measure my feet properly, talk through the different boot options, and explain how various manufacturers fit — including which brands run narrower or wider. It never felt rushed at any point, and it was clear he genuinely cared about getting the right fit rather than just making a sale.

Within minutes I had 100% confidence in his knowledge — he clearly knows his trade inside out. On top of that, he’s got a great sense of humour and an easy, friendly personality, which made the whole experience really comfortable.

I ended up purchasing a pair of DC boots along with a few other bits for my upcoming snowboarding trip to France. I’d highly recommend both Nick and the Castleford store, and I’ll definitely be returning in the future.

If you want exemplary customer service given by not one, but two highly experienced guys who have extensive knowledge of outdoor kit then visit Ellis-Brigham in Keswick. Not often do you find such sterling advice and help, in a non pressured way, as I found today in their store.

It started with a friendly welcome from Jon as we entered then we browsed around until I asked a question on Arcteryx shoes. We were taken to Sean who checked with Jon the manager on availability. They then asked me a few questions and after listening suggested checking and measuring my feet, gave expert advice on insoles to consider which i went on to purchase. They also advised me what other brands to consider not once trying to force me down the brands they had in the store.

I was interested to understand more about the various brands selling good quality waterproof jackets and sounded out Jon’s preference. Not only did I get detailed answers but while talking Sean went upstairs and brought down examples to demonstrate the differences. These two then spent further time discussing the pros and cons of brands across the spectrum. Never once was I pressured to buy a jacket in the hour I spent with them but by goodness me I will be back each time I need new kit.

Many years ago you would find that sort of service in all independent outdoor retail shops, then they were swallowed up or had to close down. You might find one or two places left across the UK but not many where you get that exemplary customer experience and service.

In the few hours walking around Keswick visiting other shops the staff didn’t even acknowledge us looking at items let alone offered advice, they just stood talking to each other. Others tried hard to sell what was there in front of us not knowing much, or perhaps not interested in sharing, their knowledge or any product information.

All in all if you are looking for new outdoor equipment or clothing and you want expert advice from passionate experienced guys visit the Ellis-Brigham store in Keswick you will not be disappointed. Thank you to Sean and Jon, you are a credit to Ellis-Brigham and the outdoor retail industry!

Fantastic boot fitting experience.
Purchased first boots yesterday having had many years hiring. Alex, at the Milton Keynes branch was excellent and explained exactly how they measure and select boots with options on custom fit liners. After careful fitting I was left with a couple of options and chose one with custom fit liners. At no stage did I feel rushed or pressurised and I felt Alex went to great lengths to ensure they felt snug but comfortable. I am looking forward to skiing in March secure in the knowledge they can be adjusted if I am unhappy at all. A first class experience that I would highly recommend.

The staff at Covent Garden branch was very professional and Courteous. The manager was very kind and understanding to my needs .

I was hugely helped by Ben earlier today. I wanted a pair of walking boots and this was my second trip to the store in the last week. He was helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and had a very warm approach. I bought an excellent pair of boots and am looking forward to wearing them on a series of new adventures.
