Staff always friendly and helpful. Worth a look .

The lady at the till was extremely helpful and my wife was very impressed with the garden centre.

Exciting products and extremely friendly staff. Coffee shop well worth a visit.

First off I would like to say that I am a big fan of Dobbies; the garden centre and restaurants are both excellent.

That being said I have to raise a few points of constructive criticism - I have noticed that some of the Dobbies branches have a different operating style to others. The Shepton Mallet branch operates with counter staff who serve customers over the counter, the customer than pay at the till and take their tray of food to their table. The problem with this model I saw today was as follows….the people behind me were given their English breakfast over the counter and then waited behind me while I was served my 2 coffees - the problem was I waited for some minutes before the staff started making my coffees and then took 6 minutes (I timed it) to give me my coffees. The people behind were very patient and waited but by the time they took their food to the table it must have been cold or Luke warm at best. I have previously had a similar experience in the Glasgow Braehead branch and my English breakfast was cold by the time I sat down at the table.

Where as at the Gillingham Dobbies the food order is taken at the table and brought to the table and it’s piping hot!! The Gillingham Dobbies is by far the best Dobbies branch I have visited.

I shall not be rushing back the to the Shepton Mallet branch again …. Unless they adopt a similar operating style as the Gillingham branch.

Please tell me while there is such a various of operating styles??

Had lunch which was expensive (£21 for a panini and toasted sandwich and 2 teas) The lunch was not toasted just put in a microwave and was luke warm. They are well overpriced on the goods we wanted some lawn seed which was £5 dearer than Amazon have canceled my subscription as we won't be going there again.

Queue is so slow when you just want coffee. The same person making hot drinks was also running the till.

Extremely poor breakfast , sausages were advertised but they had none this was 9.15 am food was cold we took our breakfasts to a table and sat in disgust at how small the breakfasts were for the price and how filthy the whole seating area was. We are residence of Shepton Mallet and can remember when going to Dobbies restaurant was a special treat last meal we shall ever buy there .

Very friendly staff, garden centre very well stocked and prices reasonable. Store very clean and well stocked of various items. Restaurant very presentable and food of excellent quality. Visit garden centre at least once a month.

Service very slow and food when we eventually got it was below average.
This is not the first time, we did go there last year and thought that maybe it was just a bad day!

Shepton Mallet....No selection of food available, only ham egg and chips or toasties, this was 13.45hrs menu says hot food available up to 15.00hrs. hot plate empty, staff not interested in service only clearing away, miserable people, won't be going back, have a photo of empty hotplate plus the clock showing the time, but can't upload it.

Lovely friendly staff. Nice and quiet. No queues.

It was relaxing and good fun!! I went with a friend and after our shopping we enjoyed a long, comfortable time in the restaurant with coffee and cakes. Perfect!

Helpful & polite staff. Premises clean tidy and well laid out.

Brilliant helpful staff on the pet department. The guy offered to go to the warehouse to get us what we needed as it was not on the shelves … brilliant customer service

Excellent customer service while purchasing top soil and multipurpose compost and joining the Loyalty membership club.
