I used the Motorway App to sell my car by auction through their dealer network. I felt I had given a fair description of my car to Motorway. My car was 10 years old with just under 46,000 miles on the clock. I had it serviced by the franchised dealer every year and looked after it carefully. It had been serviced 2 weeks earlier when it got new brake pads and a new pollen filter. Motorway classed it as 3 out of 5. Distinct Motors won the auction by bidding £6716 which I accepted. Instead of collecting the car themselves, Distinct sent an "independent professional" company to check it. They claimed to see dents in the car which I had never even noticed, and could not see when they pointed them out. They claimed Distinct would, among other things, have to respray two of the doors. This was ludicrous. Apart from one area which I had admitted to Motorway, the paintwork was in very good condition for a ten year old car and it seemed idiotic to respray the doors. Surprise, surprise, Distinct Motors used this so called "independent professional" report to reduce the offer price to £6000 and utterly refused to budge. Clearly they commissioned the report to drive the price down. I accepted, only because I wanted the cash to buy another car the next day (incidentally that dealer had already offered over £5,800 for the car in part exchange because they would have put it straight into auction). Three days after I sold the car to them for £6000, Distinct advertised it online in glowing terms at a price of £8,989. Do you really want to deal with a company which behaves like this?

I researched the car before purchase and was pleased with what I found and the condition of the car. Excellent experience buying my MG5 from Distinct Cars.
The price was very competitive and the whole process felt relaxed from start to finish. The staff were pleasant, knowledgeable, and never pushy — just genuinely helpful. I felt confident in my purchase and well looked after. Highly recommended

Worst choice i did now left with massive repaire bill 100% dodges mot ball joint gone hurd this noking noise throught it was shocker tuned out to be ball joint clutch is going had to go backk 3 times nothing but attiude after sale avoid biggist cowboys known

The whole experience from start to finish was bad. Some of the red flags I noticed were:

- They are very defensive in their online reviews, basically attacking any negative reviewer and revealing information about them instead of contacting them privately to sort it out
- Their salesman will say anything to sell a car. I know that's not unusual, but if you try to negotiate the answer is: it's the owner's decision and he wouldn't allow it. The owner is of course not present at the site
- The cars are essentially bought off Motorway, MOT'd and serviced by their close friends across the road, washed, and listed for sale. There are plenty of examples in the Google reviews of people whose cars were sold to them barely road legal
- They described their warranty as a pot of money they keep aside for customer's vehicle repairs, when in fact it's a third party they're getting commission to sell for

Had an amazing experience. Big shout out to Steven, he made it such a simple process. Could ask for anything more.

Bought a mercedes c220d on 18 July 2025 I travelled from chesterfield Derbyshire very happy with service I received from these people. The car is my dream car .

Seen the car on auto trader went through zuto and the intrest rate was through the roof in my name due to being a full time carer and working part time despite me having reasonable credit decided to go direct through them and was looked after throughout the process and manged to get me the rate at a very reasonable price the car was immaculate and very smooth to drive john was amazing throughout the process and wasnt pushy like other garages he kept me up to date highly recommended

Terrible company. Sold me a car with. A list of issues all costing alot of money to sort out. Completely lie about the pre sale health checks and the warranty is just worthless. Ontop of that these rats actually post there own posive reviews to try and bury the hundreds of negatives they get. Dig a little deeper on the review pages to get actual reviews about this dump.

Excellent customer service. I don’t treat myself to a new car very often so I spent a lot of time researching used Kia Sportage cars online with many companies before choosing Distinct Motors. I did a background check on the car using a recommended app before arranging a test drive. The staff were friendly and not pushy at all, and the fact there was a 15 month warranty provided on my chosen car sealed the deal for me. There are lots of cars on their forecourt at good prices too, but I fell in love with the Kia after test driving it with John and my husband. I would definitely recommend this company and will use again when I need another car.

Hi. Not the best experience. But I bought the car, because car overall was alright. But attitude wasn’t the best. But I was going there after car, dealers not mechanics so asking about cars condition is useless. Couldn’t use my expensive Autel to see live data. Battery was bad and still is SOH 36%, replaced, missing floor mats, dirty interior, cheap tyres, no discounts.
Positive: works on Sundays, good car for the price.
Make sure there is service history because impossible to do check’s before purchase. Everything is perfect if you don’t like it get lost.

I had been looking for a bmw x3 for some time. I found one at this company and fell in love with it. I went to see it on Monday and by Friday I was driving home in it. Fantastic, friendly service from Steve, who took me for a spin and a natter. Lovely bloke, explained the process and was thorough from start to finish. Ian completed my sale on the Friday, again a lovely man, easy to talk to and completed all the paperwork quickly and easily. Thank you Steve and Ian for a really pleasant experience. I LOVE my new car, it’s such a gorgeous drive. Best wishes to you all for the future. Buyers…ignore any negative reviews, this place is great!

Had a drive down to Bury from chorley as there was nothing i was looking for in my area. From the moment i set foot on the forecourt. I was welcomed and treated with the up most professionalism. We met Steve from the sales team. And from start to finish and a road test in between everything whent smooth. We did the done deal within the hour. Also used car finance 247 for my car finance, i would highly recommend both companies 👌 thanks Steve for all your help from start to finish. Loving my new wheels 🙂

Avoid at all costs. Worst experience ever and they lie completely about health of car. PLEASE avoid

Cowboys who sell dodgy cars and have plenty of bad reviews. Only good ones are made up!! Be warned guys
