I've had FREE access to discovery+ UK since 2021 and watched both on my Apple desktop and via Amazon firestick. Today (29 Oct 2025) I was denied access as apparently 'We couldn't find a discovery+ account for that email address.' I have emailed my query to support, but suspect this is something to do with the recent merger/takeover of the parent company that now wants people to sign up with a subscription.

I have been a customer for years having Dicovery+through SKY i am now about to drop Discovery as I am SICK of bloody adverts 5 to 6 interruptions per show I prefer to have on record to skip any adverts but these are so excessive I can't watch my paranormal programs and enjoy any more so Discovery is going its now unbearable its the worts and same adverts constantly GAMBLING GAMBLING GAMBLING thats even worse shame in you Discovery channel!!

Free with sky tv. Haven't been able to sign in on TV for 10 months! Ignoring emails because they don't seem to be able to fix it. Sky say it's free and not their problem, discovery plus can't fix it!

Reduced user-friendliness: The redesign has been a backward step in terms of usability. Features like marking which programmes have been watched have been removed adding to frustration.. Will watch less as more time is rerquired to plan viewing rather than looking in 1 place

Discovery+ has ruined cycling coverage in the UK. Like so many other cycling fans I am incredibly disappointed by the cost and the adverts. Having to pay £30/month is bad enough, to have to watch the same rubbish adverts over and over again scattered through live cycling events (including the Grand Tours) is taking the ****. I do not intend to subsidise the ludicrous fees paid to the Premiership and its players (how else can the exorbitant monthly costs be explained?) so have cancelled my subscription.

I’ve been a customer for more than 5 years, but I’ll be cancelling now due to the adverts. When signing up I never consented to adverts, and they should not be shown to paying customers. Instead, Discovery+ has chosen to interrupt all shows with excessive ads - sometimes 6 ad breaks (some of which have 6 ads in each one!!). Discovery+, enjoy the greed.

This App used to be below average. Now it is terrible.
Program guide - gone. Browse channels shows what is currently on and what is next. Impossible to see anything more.
Sports (I watch Aust Football) has become unusable. Match replays have virtually gone. After APP update some random ones existed so was unable to watch games from overnight. Season now ended so hope they return to old ways by next year.
Cycling used to be ad-free for subscribers, now ad-laden.
Wish there was some way to roll back to the previous version. It was bad but 100 times better than the new one.

Dreadful. Since the app relaunched it is woeful. I only subscribed to watch cycling. Have had the app for four years. Now, you can’t have ad free. If I scan through the race, then go back to play, the screen blurs for 10-15 seconds and is unwatchable. The white strip on each race which indicated which races watched has gone. I now have no idea which races I’ve watched. If they put ads on the Cyclo cross races I will cancel. I can’t gave ads during a frantic race which lasts one hour max, I will miss action during the ads.
And I have to pay ten times more for this crap?

Have been streaming discovery plus for years and love some of the shows but as of today when they are now showing ads you can't skip I have cancelled. It's not like you can pay and extra couple of £s not to see ads.It goes from £3.99 to £33.99 WTF ?? and you HAVE to get sport?.I hate sport.Talk about a rip off!

Discovery/TNT took over cycling coverage from Eurosport. My subscription went from £40p.a. to £30.99p.m.

To add insult to injury Discovery saturated paid for.coverage.witj endless ads. Worse still, they bill to the minute so my subscription which was valid until 28.09.25 ended at 18:30hrs - mid.way through the Cycling World Champs 🤬

A company that can take.enjoymem away from sports fans.

Relaunch of app is absolutely terrible to the point I'm seriously considering ditching. Constant crashes, sound drops outs, significantly worse functionality. New updates may often include changes users don't like but the improvements are there as well, this is just overwhelmingly terrible. Whoever designed or signed off on this needs their head examined if they thought this would improve user exoerience

We enjoyed some of the programs on discovery plus but since they have introduced ads it has ruined it. There are more adverts on this channel than ITV but at least when you stream ITV you can skip the ads and you don’t have to pay for the channel.

Update are supposed to improve your experience but this is clearly not the case with this one. I’m a MotoGP lover and now can’t watch the main race, can’t find the Moto3 race, couldn’t find the Moto2 qualifying and the removal of the TV guide is ridiculous. Sort it out Discovery+ and quick, 98% of these reviews are all saying the same.

What an absolute pile of turd. Quality is ridicules at times, the time stamps never add up when watching back, whoever built the website to watch back on needs firing as it's so messy and difficult to use. Worst of all they continue to upload the wrong footage for what's on the title. It's either the build up to a race when it's supposed to be the full race. I've even had it in the past where the I've clicked on the moto GP race and it ends up being football or bike racing. You'd think with all the money from subscriptions they could run a half decent service. I take they never look at the reviews. Why as customers do we put up with the crap. Back to streaming from somewhere else I feel.

The updated menu is useless. One of the most important races in MOTOgp Japan is not even on just commentary that stops before the race. Who ever came up with this new menu needs replacing. There was nothing wrong with the old format. If it stays like this I will

Updated app is absolutely shocking. Why change something when it works perfectly fine before! Can’t find anything doesn’t give you the option to see the channel schedule. Programmes don’t load or kick you out when you try to skip to key events!

Discovery plus doesn't even deserve 1 star. They are an absolute disgrace of a company. I signed up on the 18th September and payed £30.99 to be able to watch the football, everything was fine at first but then I got logged out of my account and now apparently it doesn't exist. I've been on chat, phone calls and even logged a complaint. Avoid at all costs.

Absolute Pathetic APP now, the latest update has made it more or less so annoying to use that you dont want to use it. Speeds are slow, tv guide gone so you cant plan what to watch, finding the sport you want to watch is not alphabetical so you have to scroll though garbage to find your sport, the APP is now far from intuitive to use, like its been updated by someone who wants it to look pretty rather than be user friendly. Utter Garbage

Don't put poxy adverts on something you have to pay for and why!! Just pure greed im gonna be unsubscribing
