DID Swords

Paul in Swords DID branch was extremely helpful in pointing us in the right direction for all appliances we discussed.
There was no pressure to buy and he was very knowledgeable in all areas. So much so that we left with a fridge, oven and dishwasher!
Felt very relaxed dealing with Paul. I would highly recommend for anyone who is unsure of all the options out there.

Ignored by staff

Ordered a product and decided, as usual, to go with an Irish company. Ordered online. DID website doesn’t take VAT details. Then it took 24 hours to get a click and collect order ready, despite the chosen store showing as having stock.
When I went to my local store to collect the item, multiple members of staff ignored me for several minutes until I interrupted one of them and asked about where I could collect my order. The chap who brought me my order was polite and helpful. He earned the third review star.
I’ve been buying from this DID store for almost twenty years, since I moved into the area. I don’t know if I’ll buy there again.

Thanks for a great friendly service

Thanks for a great friendly service - courteous and efficient- very grateful also for the support over the past couple of months replacing a faulty washing machine - I will always shop now in DID the customer service leaves other retailers in the shade

Disappointed

I purchased a laptop charger from this store and, on my first visit, there were two staff members at the till and they seemed pleasant. One gentleman even asked me to leave a review based on my experience, and at that stage I would have been happy to leave a positive one.

Unfortunately, I had to return the charger the following day because it wasn’t suitable for my laptop. The same gentleman who had served me the day before was working, but this time his attitude was completely different. He was huffing, puffing, and clearly seemed annoyed that I needed to make a return. The whole experience made me feel like I was inconveniencing him.

My 17-year-old son, who also works in retail, was with me and even commented afterwards that he would never treat a customer that way.

What made it more disappointing was that the other staff member who had asked me to leave a review wasn’t there that day. It honestly felt as though, without his colleague present, this gentleman’s true attitude towards customer service came through.

I have shopped in this store before and have always had very positive experiences. The staff have generally been pleasant, helpful, and professional, which is why this interaction stood out so much.

Returns are a normal part of retail, and customers should never be made to feel uncomfortable for requesting one. Good customer service is what brings customers back, and unfortunately this experience has left a negative impression. I hope this was simply an isolated incident, as my previous experiences with the store have been much more positive.
