Staff very helpful and explained everythign clearly.

The salesman let us go at our own pace and answered any questions we had without putting pressure on us. When we had decided on our purchase, he explained everything we needed to know in a friendly manner.

We have bought from DFS before and was served by a Mr Singh who really helped us is our decision offered and explained all the available extras was not at all pushy excellent experience

The customer service was brilliant. Chris assisted us through our purchase, was very professional, friendly, explained everything and gave us good advice.The whole experience was very enjoyable.

As a new home owner I was in need of a sofa as I'd gotten fed up with sitting in the garden furniture after a couple of weeks!

I'd popped into a number of furniture stores in Colchester throughout the day to look for a sofa, and after being chased around most of them by Sales Advisors that refused to leave me alone to browse I finally popped into DFS. After the initial introduction on entering the store I was free to browse without being hounded until I found a sofa I liked the look of.

The sofa was perfect, it was very similar to another one I had my eye on at another retailer; but had a better warranty, had a foldaway table which was an nice extra and was also about £50 cheaper. Plus it would be built and delivered within 3 weeks rather than the 12 weeks the other retailer had been able to offer (I really didn't want 9 more weeks of using gardens chairs in the living room!).

When I decided to purchase the sofa the Sales Advisor was fantastic! They came across as very honest and would make recommendations based on my needs which ended up saving me some money, she also had a fantastic sense of humour which gave me the impression that she was there to genuinely help customers rather than just to make a sale. The Colchester Team all seemed to get along very well which gave the store a very friendly atmosphere.

Would highly recommend DFS Colchester to anyone looking for a new sofa as the quality, cost and general buying experience were fantastic!

I arrived at around 10 am to view the sofas I’d looked at online. I was approached by a lovely smiling member of DFS staff, who introduced himself and asked if he could help me in any way. He happily pointed me in the right direction of the sofas on my list and gave me information on each sofa (colours, fabrics, delivery time etc) He kindly offered me a drink, which he made for me, and left me to look around at the other sofas. He didn’t hover, he just told me if I had any questions he’d be happy to answer them. Once I chose my sofa (over an hour later after humming and ha-ing between 2) I went to find Chris. He explained about the best way to care for the fabric of the sofa and ways to keep the sofa looking it’s best, and also about the 15 year frame warranty. He gave me options of extras (like fabric guard and easy glides) and went through what fabric guard extra covered and the few things it didn’t, but there was no hard sell in any way, which made me feel in control of my choices. I like that each associate has a partner to double check the details of the sale..very thorough! I’d also chosen a rug from the clearance section, which Chris kindly rolled and took out to my car on completion. Altogether a very pleasant and easy buying experience. Chris is a credit to the company.

Your store was the first shop we visited in our search for a new sofa and we loved the one we have purchased but I at to be sure so we went to numerous stores and finally come back to DFS the salesmen Grant was so friendly and helpful and explained everything we wanted to know our purchase was done very quick and efficiently we even had a lively cup of cappuccino can’t wait for our sofa to come .
