We unfortunately had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience with Hotel Skeppsholmen (a member of Design Hotels). In 2021, I received a generous gift card meant to be valid for two years — a thoughtful present intended to bring joy and relaxation. But, as everyone remembers, that period was marked by an ongoing pandemic, which made planning hotel stays both inappropriate and unsafe. Out of caution and responsibility, we chose to wait.

When we finally felt it was safe to book our long-awaited stay in 2023, we were met with a cold and rigid rejection. The gift card, they informed us, had expired — just two months earlier — and despite explaining the situation and appealing for some understanding, the hotel refused to show even a hint of flexibility or goodwill.

The whole situation left a very bitter taste. Instead of showing any humanity, compassion, or sense of customer care, Hotel Skeppsholmen chose to rigidly stick to the rules — and lost us as guests forever. I believe that speaks volumes about their sense of service and judgment.

Easy website to use and excellent prices for an excellent hotel

Very easy to checkout. Lots of great reviews on the website as well as fascinating facts about the different stays they offer.

Made a reservation with Design Hotels for Gastwerk Hotel in Hamburg 2 months ago and absolutely loved it! Booking was fast, easy & smooth. Gastwerk hotel had so much character! Would definitely book with Design Hotels again!

Clickbait site. Tricks you with a lower room rate & then won’t actually let you book at that rate.

I booked a room at Ekies hotel Greece through design Hotel and unfortunately the information on their booking system was incorrect. It said the room was suitable for 4 adults or a family of 5 however when I spoke to the hotel directly in order to arrange transfers from the airport and additional half board for my family, they informed that the room wasn’t suitable for the age range of my children (14 &16) and tried to get me to upgrade to a room that was an addition euros 500 per night. This was not within our budget so I declined.
However I have since been charged £700 by the hotel despite agreeing with design hotel to cancel the booking.
Thus far not a great experience.
Thankfully we haven’t booked flights but we have wasted hours trying to sort this out and have also been charged £700 to add insult to injury.

I stumbled upon Design Hotels about a year ago and now its my go-to place to plan my next trips. The presentation of the hotels is really beautiful. It feels a less fit-for-purpose than other booking websites like Booking.com.

And the hotel already contact me for helping us for everything,transportation,pillow menu,list of restaurants.Their response for email are immediate and so kind.
Never saw such service even in best Luxury hotels
