I bought a hillman mi x from this man 2 months ago after a conversion with him about the car and he stated that it could be used as a daily driver with a. It of tinkering but he failed to tell us he never had it running as when tried to get it going g we found all heater pipes missing g and the head gasket had gone hes a rip of merchant do not buy from this guy he's not to be trusted a seller that gives vlassic car dealers a bad name beware and avoid .fi nd a real dealer who tells the truth .and when we saw his so. Recently bought a 1969 Mini Cooper from Russell - and I couldn't be happier. The car is exactly as described and shown on the many photographs. Russell was extremely knowledgeable about the car and its history, and was very easy to deal with. He even delivered the car himself - so good to meet him and his father, both true enthusiasts. I am absolutely thrilled to have bought a classic car through Cromwell Classics of Grimsby. Earlier this year I approached them after finding a Lotus Elan for sale on their EBay site, and then I made contact with Russ the proprietor. Ultimately the car I initially looked at sold before I could test drive it, but that led me to an even more interesting car I had never heard of, an early TVR. Thanks to Russ, I now have a very special car the like of which I never thought I would own.
I was most impressed with Russ, as he has a strong passion for classic cars, and he wants to let you enjoy this passion too. Therefore his knowledge is first class, and he isn’t just a pushy used car salesman, trying to make a quick sale. He allowed me to time to explore the car, taking in the details, and he didn’t rush my thinking. When one is contemplating a car investment, you may need a guide, and he is to be recommended. If I had more garage space I would certainly go back and look into buying something else!!

Unlike some of the reviews on here, I had a very positive experience dealing with Russell. He is friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. The car was as described (restoration project really) and his attitude towards helping me with delivery and support has been excellent. All-in-all, a very positive transaction, with no complaints at all.

Do not buy a car from this man. The experience my husband and I have had has been both disappointing and quite frankly appalling. Russ should not be trading or doing any kind of business with his attitude and lack of respect for his customers. The advert was misleading and incorrect and he did not offer any kind of refund after the purchase and he lied his way through the whole process. A smooth talker prior to the transaction but once he has your money, he is not interested. He ignores all calls and will not take any responsibility for his actions. My husband is a very well respected long term member of the Lotus world and is well known and respected with many people. This has not gone unnoticed and will be well publicised through many websites and forums. On the whole, a very unprofessional, untrustworthy individual who should not be trading.

Do not deal with this trader. He is utterly dishonest. He says goods have been dispatched when they have not and he repeatedly lies. He will not make a refund. He brags how well he knows Grimsby County Court. Really nasty trader.

Bought a car from their garage, on the journey home knocking sound from the engine, had diagnostics done at local garage which revealed a damaged engine which needed to be replaced and issues that should not have passed the MOT. Sent messages to the garage which were ignored. Now we have to take them to court. No return communication at all. Don't trust them, they are ignoring their legal responsibility and are completely unprofessional. The car is only worth £1550.
