Coppa Club Recensioni 

Met with friends for an evening out to the Coppa Club, Sonning. The restaurant mixed up my booking and although we were in the restaurant they did not inform us that our table was ready so we missed the table. We had to order through an app which added a 12.5% tip automatically even through we were doing the job ourselves. in addition to our drinks, we asked for water and a bottle was brought over. There were no glasses to drink from and we had to ask for cutlery when the food arrived. The service was terrible. The food was overpriced for the amount we were given. We left hungry. We ordered coffee and tea at the end of the meal and moved seats to inside. The restaurant was disorganised and empty glasses and plates were left on unused tables. Very disappointing.

Terrible experience. My chicken starter had a fancy description but basically it was completely overcooked chicken nuggets. Dry and tasteless.
I ordered a Negroni cocktail. Served in a tumbler, by the time I had taken all the ice out, there wasn’t much actual liquid in it for £12!!!!! Chicken main course was wholly undercooked…..my three companions had similar issues.
The waitress’s only response was ‘sorry about that’. We were late for a concert so couldn’t be bothered to pursue it.
The point is this shocking food is quite expensive. This dreadful meal and drinks cost me £65!! Absolutely awful, I would never go again and nor should you.

Really disappointing visit for my Sons 22 Birthday with family tonight at Coppa Club Sonning . On entry the place looked quite grubby to be honest , staff seemed new and untrained , waited ages to get served , drinks came after the starters , mains arrived warm and pasta dishes tasteless and the pasta was soggy swollen like its been sat in water then heated through and sauce added , no follow up from staff to check food was ok etc had to flag down staff constantly, starter plates still on table throughout main , i did complain and got meals removed from the bill thank goodness… would not recommend and will not be returning, really disappointed and not the kind of service or food i have previously had at other Coppa club restaurants , shame as its a lovely location , big 👎🏻

Underwhelming in all respects. Salad looked like it had just been tipped out of a bag with no attention to presentation. Slow service. No customer engagement .

We had a memorable 50th birthday celebration lunch (hired two event rooms for 20+ guests) at The Great House in Sonning. All personnel was helpful and professional. Special thanks to the event organisers and Emily, an event manager on the day, and her colleagues, to whom nothing was too much trouble and made the event a seamless and enjoyable experience. Great food ( a steak to die for :)) and sophisticated indoor and outdoor space. We will visit again.

Coppa Club Sonning on Thames, have introduced parking identity. You must provide your car reg details or you will receive a £100 fine like we did. We visited on the 5th March 2024 for a coffee and were not aware or asked for our car reg details. Lazy staff and poor service.

I had an expensive and mediocre lunch at The Great House Coppa Club just outside Reading. Then I found out I got a £100 fine for parking in their car park. Don’t eat here. It’s a scam. The food is expensive and middling and they catch you out with parking fees and tickets. There’s no clear signage customers have to pay. And why should they?? It’s rubbish. Don’t eat here.

Have visited a few times and find it a relaxing place for a coffee when not busy. The latte is good. However I had my first meal there with a friend the other day. We both ordered pasta with wild mushrooms. They only brought one serving and I had almost finished mine by the time my friend’s serving arrived. The sauce was very tasty but the pasta was luke warm and not properly cooked. As it was only a small portion, by the time I had taken a couple of mouthfuls it wasn’t worth sending it back as the service was slow. Very disappointing. I don’t know if I will eat there again.

Some of the staff are very friendly but there are one or two off putting officious managers allocating tables, and whilst they have two coffee lounge areas, they don’t make you feel you are welcome if you only want to drop in for a coffee.

Yesterday there were loads of empty tables but I was not allowed to choose where I wanted to sit so I left. Yet the other day I had to swap tables because somebody else wanted mine!

The manager was not really accomodating. The staff would want you to consume at least £250 for lunch to use the igloo although during that time only 2 igloos were used. How could you ask the customer to spend at least £250 for lunch? We were not aware when the booking was made.The food was not even close to good. The igloo looked good but not worth to spend for a terrible food and inconsiderate manager.

Service charge of 12.5% is unreasonable. Service charge contributions should be given direct to the servers or added by choice and not automatically added to the final bill. this payment should only be given for good attentive service and not taken for granted.
Unlikely to visit Coppa club again.

They don't understand the licencing laws!
16-17 year olds CAN consume Beer, Wine or Cider with a meal IF purchased by an adult.
Meal at Sonning last night ruined by Jobsworth server, removing drink from our table!

We have a meal on the 18th of November by Tower Bridge.
The service was appalling. No one showed any interest.
Emailed manager the day after with the concerns.
No reply or acknowledgment received.

The food at Coppa Clifton, Bristol was frankly awful. Pathetic excuse for a salad; needed a magnifying glass to find the quinoa and the halloumi that came with it was a small portion and burnt. Husband had the beef ragu - lukewarm; hardly any beef and what he did have was inedible - gelatinous & grizzly. It was so awful I can't be bothered to say any more! First and last visit.

Need to bring to your attention, serious upsetting experience when I attended your Guildford Coppa Club for my important family & professional friends for dinner on the 31st October 2023.

The service was terrible throughout the whole evening with so many delays & even more upsetting was that the food, everything was cold & even when changed still was not hot enough. Major delays in getting drinks & other items. Such an upsetting time had by all my family & friends, I had a serious panic attack with the psychiatric harm caused by your manage Luke not providing any support or help.

Be very careful! Pirates operating in there car park! Got fined for overstaying 3 hours even thou being told it’s ok! Rung manager and they do not give a toss!!!

Spend your money else where!

We arrived as a party of 6 for a special birthday having booked a riverside igloo for 8pm.
I ordered drinks at the bar at 7.15, after 15 minutes I asked if these were coming soon? They are on the way... I asked if they felt an apology was required foir the delay. "we are busy" was the only response. They arrived after 25 minutes.
We go to the igloo and look at the menu and have a few questions. The waitress talked so quickly none of us could pick up what was being said.
I asked if she would talk more slowly please, but the same again. I suggested that they are in a service industry and should be taking care of customers better. I was told I had drinks and a light! as though these were special features. (probably the basic minimum for a meal).
She left telling us that the Manager would be coming. The manager took over from there.
We got to 10pm having just finished the food, not memorable. To then be told we had to leave the igloo at 10pm as everyone must be inside by 10pm. part way through the meal. Why didn't someone tell us this at the outset? oh yes I was told, they should have...
We didn't bother with deserts, the bill is thrust on the table with 12.5% service charge.
I go to pay and say I will not be paying the service charge for such poor service. "you do what you like" was the answer.

Be very careful and check your bill at the end if you are paying by card. Yesterday they included the service on my bill but when I went to pay with a card it suddenly added the service on my bill again, so it shot up from just over £74 to just over £82! Luckily I noticed and questioned it, I was told it was if I wanted to leave a tip. when I pointed out that the service had already been added to my bill, she deducted it (with no apology or explanation). It left a nasty taste in my mouth – pun intended. I wonder how many tourists are ripped off in this way by this restaurant, serving very average food by sullen staff. The only thing it has going for it is the stunning setting.

Don’t go there would be my advise! Yes the settings are beautiful, of that there is no doubt! As for the service and the food, appalling! It was a group booking for a certain time, days previously back and forth with emails, two courses chosen for everyone, list sent to Coppa as requested.
In a nutshell, we arrived, waited to be seated, made sure they knew our booking, I had copy of ALL paperwork!
No water on table, no greeting, no one came, staff were elusive and miserable, hailed a person to get water, again for drinks menu, again for drinks! 45mins later called for manager! I could go on and on but basically food eventually came, with things that were on list to be removed, knives that couldn’t go through steak, taken for sharpening and so on! So an occasion thoroughly spoiled for 14 people who will NOT venture there again and will pass on their experience to their friends! What a waste and such a shame when many businesses are folding at the moment that no one seems to want to try and rescue this one! Avoid, avoid, avoid!

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Coppa Club. The aubergine bake I ordered was terribly undercooked, and I had to discreetly remove large, unappetizing mouthfuls into my serviette. Not only was the food bland, but my partner's steak was undercooked as well, and even the fries were cold. The shocker came when the bill arrived – I couldn't believe how much we were charged for such subpar food.

To add insult to injury, I ordered a cocktail priced at £11, but it was utterly devoid of any discernible alcohol taste. Despite informing them that we were celebrating a significant birthday, Coppa Club failed to provide even a small gesture or token of acknowledgment. It's disheartening to think that a £120 expenditure on food and drinks could lead to such a lackluster experience. I definitely won't be returning to Coppa Club anytime soon.
