If you try to use their cashback promos, even within their terms of service (7x per merchant, 20x a month), you might get suspended. Remember, they're owned by Ziff Davis. They're not afraid to take all the commission for themselves.

I used this cashback service regularly for a long time. For context, they’re not doing this out of goodwill - they earn affiliate commissions when you make purchases through their links, and share a portion back as cashback.

About 7–8 months ago, their automated cashback tracking stopped working for me entirely. I followed all the required steps exactly as I did before but nothing tracked. To their credit, they did issue some manual payouts at first - which I appreciated - but that’s also just honoring what was already promised through their ads online.

Now, despite me continuing to follow the same process, they’ve stopped issuing manual payouts. Instead, they keep insisting it’s not their fault and repeatedly send troubleshooting steps I’ve already tried multiple times. Further, I have tried different browsers, devices, merchant sites, etc.. Nothing has worked.

At this point, I’m done. If the system doesn’t track and they won’t honor purchases manually, the service simply doesn’t deliver on what it advertises. They are possibly just not paying it out and getting an affiliate link. It all sounds shady , I'd stay far away.

EDIT- lol, their reply basically is the same as they've been telling me through email, that it's somehow my fault despite me doing the same thing I've always done and even following their instructions to "fix it".

Way to many hoops to confirm a purchase with both LlBean and Hotwire. Definitely not worth the effort. I’ve switched to Rakuten. So far they’ve handled things more smoothly.

I had been saving my money in this account as my "rainy day" money if I really needed something and didn't have the money. I went into the account today because I really needed the money and found that I had $0 left!! RetailMeNot took it all!!! They took $20.43 out as a "maintenance fee." This is what they say it is: "Your account has been assessed a monthly maintenance fee due to inactivity of more than one year. Redeem your remaining balance now or make a new qualifying cash back purchase in order to reactivate your account's status. For more information, please see our Terms of Use." I have not been shopping and using the site because of low funds. When I go to get my stored away money, it is gone.

Worst experience ever! Purchases simply do not track. If you want to submit receipts for every purchase and then wait forever this is the rebate site for you!

Otherwise avoid at all costs.

I earned $11.11, RetailMeNot stole $10 of it on maintenance fees before I realized my money was not safe on their site. It's not like they are a bank, so why charge maintenance fees? No other cashback site does this and I'm registered with ten of them. They are trying to deliberately force you to be loyal to them, but this will only backfire, as there are so many cashback sites that offer higher % rebates and don't steal your funds, not after a year, not ever!!!

Terrible. Retailmenot has coupons posted as active but each one I’ve tried says it’s expired on their website I’m trying to purchase from. I tried at least 4 different ones. Do not trust them.

no way to report bad coupons so almost all of the coupons are bad

I never get cash back because unlike other apps it takes me to a website that my malware protection warns me not to go to and the one time I went anyway it was infected with malware. This has been a useless app and I wish I had used Rakuten which works well

The 1% cashback for Home Depot just keeps spinning without ever finishing. The only Retailmenot website support is a Chat that only allows a few preset topics and will not let you ask a question or get to chat with a person. Google lists a phone number which only directs you back to this unhelpful Chat! You still can't talk to anyone to resolve a tech support issue.

Never paid out cash back for 4 orders.Retailmenot claims the cash back was activated but they did not get confirmation back from the Merchant(EBay). I received an email that the purchases were activated. The activations are in my Retailmenot account.Ebay alleges that what Retailmenot claims is inaccurate and simply not true. Ebay researched my concern and have had many customers with the same issue. Ebay verified that “Retailmenot is a third party application and they have independent means to confirm an order and Retailmenot is solely responsible for obtaining that data for payment. The issue as EBay states is “on Retailmenot’s end, not EBay.” 1 star is being generous!
Retailmenot just plain and simple does not pay the cash back they collect. It is a scam. Use TopCashback. Made 2 purchases and within an hour the cashback was tracking to my account.

Coupons rarely work and if they do its for cash back. When you get your cash back they close your account claiming you violated terms of service and your money disappears. The way they are responding on her to all of us that they have knowingly robbed is disgusting. The more of us that contact the better business bureau the quicker RMN will be shut down.

Coupons generally do not work and no way to provide feedback without being forced to use the app. Even using the website they try force you to use the app.
