Scam company

If you're thinking of subscribing to Choice: save your money. The reviews are low quality. Half of them are for products that aren't even on the market anymore. You will find better information for free online. You will not get your money back when you realise that you have been scammed.

CHOICE IS A MISINFORMATION COMPANY

Just read your review on Temu. I am not sure how they got the fact Temu refund policy is hard and they customer service is horrible. Let me tell you as a consumer of Temu if I don’t like something they pay for return label to send back to them each and every time within 1 week I get my refund I have never not received my refund or had any issues with a refund. Yes it might take up to 3 weeks to receive it especially on custom items such as shirt prints custom anything to do with personalised products but normal purchases within 2 weeks max. I have that feeling big company’s in Australia are influenced CHOICE to write a such review. Why don’t you stop lying it’s no wonder your own reviews are 3 star get your facts right before spreading misinformation

Misleading information and…

Misleading information and contravention of Trade Practices Act. They claim to offer help to members. No they do not. They claim to offer refund for cancelled subscriptions,. No they do not refund. Total LIES.
I purchased items recommended by them, absolute rubbish.
I do not recommend dealing with these rogues!

I have been a subscriber for decades. In a world of scams & fake product review Choice are & always have been honest, methodical, scientific & unbiased. Totally funded by consumers no kick backs & have positively affected consumer policy in oz. Always the first goto. Good on em

Valuable service

Valuable service, worth supporting. Not sure what the previous whining reviews are on about. I paid for this, knowing full well what I was getting, and got it. It’s a transaction I’m happy with and the info I’ve found in their back catalog has already more than paid for the subscription. I don’t plan on unsubscribing anytime soon and do recommend it.

UNCLEAR what your buying.

Signed up and then discovered what you get is terrible. Unsubscribed immediately. Then received rude customer service.

Years ago when I was a regular subscriber, I found the 2 pages spread comparisons in physical magazine were on-point. All gone, lost.

Now the 'digital experience' is a scrolling MESS.

Wrote to customer service and was rudely told, "well you purchased x". Even after taking the time to give them constructive feedback, their customer service agent still missed it. Basic 101 - clearly explaining what digital subscription means in terms of both layout, style and content you get or dont get, is important.

They expect customers to pay extra for PDF as they have not got their act together and fixed their digital platform/UI mess.

At very least a trusted business would of offered refund and apology for misunderstanding, rather than be told "You should of known, 'you did purchase X'"

You've mentioned that you enjoyed the previous magazine format of the reviews. The good news is the physical magazine is still readily available and you can subscribe on our website.

We appreciate the feedback regarding our website. Many of our reviews only are free, so people can sample our reviews before deciding whether to become a member (for example: https://www.choice.com.au/food-and-drink/drinks/tea-and-coffee/review-and-compare/reusable-coffee-cups). There are multiple layers of data available, which we understand can be confusing. Using the filters on the left hand side can narrow down to your individual criteria, or there is also the ability to compare product shortlists if that helps. However, we understand some people still prefer the print format and so we continue to produce this publication.

As you no doubt realise, CHOICE is a non-profit organisation heavily involved in campaigning for better consumer rights in Australia, so any membership goes to supporting our goals for fair, safe and just markets. If a subscription is not for you, then you can also support us by signing one of our petitions or campaign actions.

We offer our sincere for your previous support, and once again apologise for any negativity experienced.
